3 Months And 2 Weeks Progress Pics
msaprildawn posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on March 14 after converting from band. Starting weight was 247 and current weight is 195. That's 52 lbs lost. I can tell a small change in the size of my stomach but I'm hoping I will be able to notice more changes as time goes on. -
3 Months And 2 Weeks Progress Pics
msaprildawn replied to msaprildawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I can give you an example of a typical day.... Breakfast usually a premier protien shake and maybe a baby bel cheese lunch I usually have a whole greek yogurt and some fruit dinner I could eat for example a half of a hamburger patty and a couple bites of salad. If I eat chicken I can eat maybe half a thigh and I'm full. Things like yogurt or Protein drinks don't fill me up like they used to. Sometimes I could also eat a whole hard shell taco but feel quit a bit uncomfortable after -
196 down from 200! That's 4 lbs this week!
-
200 today...I was 199 but climbed back up. I was 202 last week so that's a 2 lb lost..
-
I finally made it to 199...I've been trying for a few weeks now! This makes everything worth it..
-
Dang, I spoke too soon. This morning I was back to 200 again...It's around that time of the month so maybe that could have something to do with it

Thank you I had a long journey to get here. I started in Aug 2011 with the lapband at 283 and had the lapband removed in february and then had the sleeve in march so it's been a long year! 3 surgerys all within 6 months!

Does Removing The Drain Hurt
msaprildawn replied to aouzenian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never got a drain..I'm wondering if that's a good or bad thing? -
It seems like my nutritionist and doctors put a lot of emphasis that the first 6 months is the "window of opportunity" for losing weight and after that it will pretty much come to a stop. I will be 3 months out on Thursday and Have lost only 50 lbs. If this is the case I only have 3 months left of losing weight. Does the weight loss really stop after 6 months or does it just continue at a slower pace?

6 Months Post Op Question..
msaprildawn replied to msaprildawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About 4 years ago I lost 100 lbs within a year by counting calories and working out. I'm assuming that would be no different then what I can do with the sleeve but it will just be easier because I have a tool to help me with my eating. Luckily for me I have it all tracked on calorie-count.com so I can compare how fast I lost the weight 4 years ago to how I've lost the weight with the sleeve. I've averaged about 18 a month with the sleeve and about 7 from the first weight loss attempt. I should quit worrying I guess! -
6 Months Post Op Question..
msaprildawn replied to msaprildawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for all the replys! It's good to know that there is hope and this isn't all that there is. I have been working my butt off I'm at the gym for 2 hours 5 days a week. SOmetimes I think I should have saved that for after the 6 month mark because it will be harder to work harder then what I'm doing now if that makes sense. -
I'm now 204.1 that's a 2 lb lost. Not as good as I had hoped I worked out 4 days this week.
-
I want to start doing this because I'm getting frustrated with the weight I see on the scale every morning. I'm hoping that I can do this. I currently weight 206.5

Band To Sleeve. Is It All It's Cracked Up To Be?
msaprildawn replied to kate33's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I can tell you first hand that it is totally worth it! I had the lap band only for 4 months before I got that dreaded thing out and revised to the sleeve. With the sleeve you can pretty much eat anything once you're stomach will tolerate it. I actually have that naturally full feeling that I never got with the band. There is no maintenance such as fills and no worry that you've made your band slip by throwing up. You do get an uncomfortable full feeling if you eat too much but it's nothing like the heart attack feeling you get with the band. I am so dissapointed that I put my body through 3 surgurys I should have just chosen this one in the first place. With the band I lost about 20 lbs in those 4 months. With the VSG I've lost about 50 and it's been 2 months. I think that if you are considering it, it is a good choice. -
I was just wondering if any of you have experienced this. I've heard of people losing inches but not weight but I think I'm doing the opposite. I was sleeved on March 14 so I'm 7 weeks out. I started at 251 and I'm now at 214. I also has the lapband for 2 months prior to that and started at 271. That is about 50 lbs of weight lost but I'm still wearing the same size pants! How can that be? You would think that I would atleast go down a size right? Nope...still fits

My period came 2 weeks late after surgury

msaprildawn replied to Willow216's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No I didn't really have any issues. I threw up once but that was my fault. Other then that no nausea and no gas. I seemed to feel normal by day 6. -

This was the first time I vomited. I also had the lap band before. I ate too much soup which is what stage I'm in right now. -

Does it seem like you throw up harder with the sleeve? Maybe its just me but I've never thrown up that hard before.
