Hi everyone, I am a doctoral student at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and am doing my dissertation on the experience of having had weight loss surgery. If you have had weight loss surgery or are considering it, are between the ages of 18 and 65 years old, and live in the greater New York City area, I would love to interview you about your experiences of and opinions about obesity and weight loss surgery. Whether you had weight loss surgery over a decade ago or have just set your surgery date, I am interested in hearing your story! If you are willing to participate in a 60-minute interview, please contact Zoë Meleo-Erwin at wls.sociology.study@gmail.com. In your message, please provide your name and a phone number where you can be contacted. There is no compensation for participating in this study. However, you may experience the interview as an opportunity to tell your story and add to a larger understanding of what it is like to be considered obese and then to have or plan to have weight loss surgery in today's society.
