Hi there!

I'm a PhD student in Sociology and my dissertation research explores the psychosocial experiences of having been considered obese and then having had weight loss surgery.

If you have had any form of weight loss surgery or are considering it, live in the greater New York City area, and are 18 years of age or older, I would love to talk to you! Specifically, I would like to interview you (at a location convenient to you) about your experiences of and opinions about obesity and weight loss surgery.

Whether you had weight loss surgery over a decade ago or have just set your surgery date, I am interested in hearing your story!

There is no compensation for participating in this study. However, you may experience the interview as an opportunity to tell your story and add to a larger understanding of what it is like to be considered obese and then to have or plan to have weight loss surgery in today’s society.
