I have thought about some type of bariatric surgery for years, for the past two I have been thinking more seriously. In December of 2010 I attended an informational seminar on the lap band in Blue Earth, MN this was the start for me. I really like the part of the gradual weight loss and this being the least invasive surgery of those available, the first two months were a little tougher and I didnt see much weight loss when I started in January seeing the dietician and the Doctor. Since then it has become much easier. I am feeling alot better already, I am learning new tools to eat better, exercise more and am feeling alot more energetic. I am two weeks from surgery right now and am excited. I have watched the actual surgery on a person with my surgeon performing it. I am confident that every thing will go well. I am looking forward to this life long journey that I have started. I look forward to the day when I can go hiking or being able to do more things with my grandkids. Maybe I will be able to get rid of the medications II currently take, this is an added bonus! plus I will be adding years to my life expectancy.
