Why would you say that?
Shoppingbeemom replied to StephS3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
57 lbs in 2 1/2 months is amazing. Your tool is working and you don't need to feel bad about any part of it. The old saying is the proof is in the pudding. This is a long term permanent goal. By next year she will see how healthy you are and shouldn't have anything negative to say. You may want to have a heart to heart with her and tell her you would like her to be one of the people who is cheering on every time you lose, not telling you it is never good enough. best wishes -

I am so happy you are recovering so well. My Dr doesn't have me on puree until 2 weeks have passed. Give me a little puree envy. What do you get to eat? Thanks for the vibes and back at you! -
Attention Dr. Almanza patients
Shoppingbeemom replied to mamamckinzie's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had my surgery the 22 at Dr Almanza's and I was very well taken care of and treated with kindness and respect. The minute I woke up in the middle of the night my nurse was there helping me. I have been to hospitals before and never was treated to that kind of attention. I personally saw them mop a floor over 4 times with-in 4 hours and if I need anything else done I will be going back. -
Allergic to med tape???
Shoppingbeemom replied to emily_0192010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get that too. I prepared before the surgery this time and had other bandages available. The only thing I know to do with this kind of rash is to clean it well, dry it well, and keep it open to the air. Best wishes -

It's good to hear from you again! I am blessed with a husband that is taking over the children while I re-cooperate. They were wanting to come and give mommy get well kisses every second and Daddy finally kicked them out of the room. Love that man! I am having a harder time than most ( vomiting) getting my grove back, but everyday is an improvement. I am now able to keep 4 otter-pops down in a day. How are you doing with liquids? I hope all is well with you. -

Hi, we made it back safe and sound here in KY. I'm sitting here next to the fireplace and am enjoying a good book. How are you doing on the diet? I am unable to take the cipro, so I'm winging it. -

We had a great time at camp.No tv, no phone. We zip lined, paint ball, and the kids had their face's painted, ate junk, and played in bouncy rooms. I envy the seafood salad, but not the illness. Do you think the seafood was bad, or it was because of the dieting? I hope you're doing better now and having an adventure before our Wensday. -

I got up at 5am this morning to get my colonoscopy. I have had one of these every other year for the last 9 years, but this year I am having it early so we know I'm ok for my surgery and I feel like I am slightly short of breath.I am feeling better just acknowledging this to you.I believe it is getting real now, not just a hopeful plan.My husband is in the kitchen making pancakes for our children when they wake up and we are waiting for our oldest son to get here after work to watch our children and get them on the school bus. It's funny how the days are slipping away. To start the liquid diet they make you take a dieretic...it was an ...interesting day....lost 8 lbs. I guess we know what I'm full of. lol How is your diet going? The smell of food dances in my head and makes me hungry and my stomach speaks a language I don't want to know! -

any excuse to get naked...its quite odd. And I am loosing weight, approx 10pounds (in 5 days). I am trying to be positive about everything, it is my goal to not let things get me down through the next coming weeks. You know keep an eye on the light at the end of the tunnel ya know. What do you get to have on your liquid phase? Soups or only clear liquids/broths etc. I so enjoy our conversations, and I love men's inhibitions... I think you are fantastic loosing 10 lbs in 5 days. I hope to emulate you.I can have anything I can see through for my Clear Liquids. I have bought drinks and broths that have Protein in them. I love to think positively about the whole experience. I want to be smart about it as well. I need to plan out how to have 60 Proteins. I hear too many people going under. best wishes. -

I blushed and threw my head back to laugh at the naked rugby competition. The fact that a man would do that to himself in the freezing cold cracks me up. Sock anyone??? How are you doing on your diet? It's odd, I have mixed feelings about going on the liquid diet. I dread being hungry, yet it means the beginning to a whole new healthy life. -

I thought I was too cute in pumps and a floral dress....until I saw the photo. My cousin calls it reverse anorexia. I always think I look better than I do. I guess God gave me rose colored glasses to see through. Now I know and I am determined to look the way I feel about myself. -
Fear Of Crime And Mexico Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Shoppingbeemom replied to pataroony's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
no one can tell you if you will be safe or unsafe when you travel ( anywhere in this world). I have been to Mexico 3 times and haven't had any issues. My Aunt goes yearly for her dentistry ( no issues there ), however, I did have a small issue in the Caribbean ( pick pocket ). Don't keep your money in one place ( mom's favorite place is the bra, she said she would at least get to 2nd base if she lost some money lol) I like the sock and yes the bra (blush). The inside of a hat isn't the best, but will do in a pinch. I also keep a dummy wallet with a small amount of cash ( to hand over if you must ). Don't wear jewelry or designer purses, and watch the people around you ( good to do anywhere). Enjoy yourself, and their wonderful atmosphere. I am going on the 22nd for my surgery and plan on a great time. -

It will be fun, going to see the Rugby world cup...definitely will be a good distraction. Tho will be hard being around all the drunk people and not being able to drink. Tho I am not a big drinker, i enjoy the odd social drink You are welcome to ditch the potty training kids (leave them with hubby) and join us in NZ Luckily for me NZ is just a few hours flight from here. I will see if i can post some pics when I get back. Atleast being around people will be help keep the nerves down. I am not looking forward to clears either, but luckily I am not on them before, so am hoping it wont be too bad having them afterwards as i will be recovering. Tho I imagine I will be over liquids quickly. But should be happily on full food by the time I get to New York in November.... BTW Back patted! Thank you! I'll pack my bags and be with you in spirit ( lol) and I would love to see pictures. I too enjoy the occasional drink. I believe we are the lucky ones to not be in a habit of daily drinking, it will be less of a loss for us. One lady on here said she would get cranberry juice on the rocks and she didn't feel out of place. I think I would prefer a virgin strawberry Margareta. Yum! -

I am surprised I am not really hungry on the Optifast diet, i get the occasional twang but then it goes. I am shocked I lost like 2.5kgs (approx 5pounds) in 2 days. Wonder what it will be on the surgery date. I am spending the weekend preparing for after the surgery, making some broths, organising my clothes by sizes. Next weekend I will be in New Zealand til the day before the op, so wont be able to next weekend. Also means I wont be stressing about what I am going to do.. How do you plan to spend the weekend before the event I've got to say, WOW, New Zealand!!! I hear it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I'm going to a church camp with my potty training kids...I want to go with you! lol. They do have everything from zip lines to Water sports to keep us occupied and We will have a great time. They are not putting me on optifast, I go straight to Clear liquids before and after surgery. I imagine I will be board to death with clears after this. 5 lbs in 2 days!!?!! WOW, that has to feel great! Give yourself a pat on the back for me. -

I have felt this too. I agree with littlemissdiva you will save money in the long run of years and years of eating properly, health improvement ( even if you don't have problems now long term weight gain is hard on a body) and think of the thin person inside. Do you ever see who you can be? That person can do more, can't they?
