Food Funeral
transforming jlaroux replied to JustDoIt130's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try not to think of this as a diet. A very dear friend of mine, and fellow bandster recently said this is not a lifestyle change, but a change of lifestyle.. Think about it! you are gonna have a whole new life, where food is not the center of attraction! you are going to be the center of attraction! We get so stuck on mourning, but really we should be celebrating! you will understand this soon! I love my life now. I have a healthy relationship with food, it doesn't run my life. I eat what I want, but I also eat how much I want, which isn't much! IF I don't want it, I don't have it! That happens alot. So , 1 cookie, yup, half the bag? nope! Get it? It's not that bad, just the unknown is scary. See you on the other side!!! -

Ok, here's the story.. I need to put my mind at rest, just a bit! I work for a coutny agency, as a caseworker with individuals who have intellectual disabilities. Recently we found out the government was seeking to privatize us. This is all happening January 1,2012. For the most part, I am pretty okay with it all, even, dare I say, excited? However, this means an insurance change. I currently have Capital Blue Cross, which has paid for everything. The new company has Capital Blue Cross also, which I am enrolling into. This agency's insurance covers the band, if its medically necessary. I am trying very hard to lose 75 pounds by mid December. This will put my BMI at 37.9. My question is this.. Is it still "medically necessary" for me to get fills at that point, or am I going to be paying for them out of pocket? (which isn't horrible, they are about 115.00 for a fill). The insurance will pay for the doctor visit for sure. I'm very near my sweet spot now, I have 8.5 cc in a 14cc band. I have a fill scheduled for Nov 25, if I need it. Should I go? I've lost 12 pounds since my last fill, and I don't even know if my doc is going to give me a fill because that was about 3 weeks ago! UGH so many questions about this health insurance stuff! Has anyone run into this? I'm not looking for insurance advice, just looking to hear if anyone has experienced this and what the outcome was, that's all.

Doing everything correct and gaining weight...

I drink coffee every single morning, I also drink 48 oz + of water every day. Do you track your foods? You might want to try and get real serious about tracking, if you don't already. Other than that, the previous poster is right, check your measurements if you do, it might help motivate you. -
I'm heading out to get my sizer this weekend. IT's temporary, they attach it to the back of your ring, and voila! Instantly smaller! I've lost 60 pounds too, and I've had to take my wedding bands off, and I cannot stand it!

Marriage vs Lap Band
transforming jlaroux replied to batiircabur's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
If he won't go for counseling, get the book called "The 5 love languages." Its an excellent read, and if he's willing to at least take the test to determine his love language, you can show him in a way he understands that you do love him and will continue to love him. Basically, the premise is that each person "understands" love in a different way. Now we all all need all the languages, but we need one specifically. The love languages are touch, words of affirmation, quality time, gifts, and there is a 5th, that eludes me right now. Anyway, that book saved my relationship. I am words of affirmation and my partner is touch. once we started speaking to each other in the love language that mattered most to the other person, it was amazing! -

Good Morning all! I am down 5 pounds to 250, for a total of a 60 pound weight loss!!! OMG I cannot believe I have lost 60 pounds. I really only lost 1 pound this week because the other 4 was water retention, but I'm still happy with that! -

What you are experiencing is completely normal. As the saying goes, they did surgery on your stomach, not your brain! lol. anyway, just stick with what you're doing. follow the rules the best you can, if you fall, get back up. Think about why you are putting food in your mouth. Are you hungry, or is it stress? If its stress,..... PUT THAT FORK DOWN! (Easier said than done!) Get on this forum, read about all the wonderful things that are going to happen to you when you lose the weight to keep you motivated, and ask any questions you can. We've all been through this and are here to help! -
Who's has experienced a New NSV Lately ?

So, I bought this dress in the beginning of October to wear to a wedding (size 18, down from, well I haven't worn a dress since I got married 14 years ago!) It fit, was a little snug, but it looked good! I wore it on Saturday night as my Halloween Costume, and it was big! -

I struggle with breakfast ideas also.... Yogurt and cottage cheese have been some suggestions, but they just don't stay for me. And I find I'm hungry a few hours later. I guess I've resigned myself to an egg with cheese, or sausage, or veggies in the am. -
Maybe your body is in starvation mode? If you're increasing your exercise and not eating enough calories, your body won't lose.
