The Harvest Moon Challenge
transforming jlaroux replied to size10again's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not a great week here. I maintained, didn't lose a thing! But I exercised 2 times. One of those times was a hike in the woods for 2.26 miles, which I am very proud of. I hurt afterward, but felt like I accomplished something. Now that my PCOS has resolved itself, I'm pretty sure I'm at about 4 weeks, sooooo, that could explain the 0 weight loss. So much for losing 50 pounds by my birthday on Sunday. grrrrrr. It was to be my own little birthday present to myself. -
Jillian Michaels is the devil...no seriously she is!
transforming jlaroux replied to kychick1294's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have learned that any workout video that is short, is usually EVIL! lol and anything that Jillian or Bob put out should have a disclaimer that says "you have been warned!":scared: -
What about your bras?
transforming jlaroux replied to Tired of being Tired's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
at first, I cinched my bras up at the straps. I actually pinned the straps in the front and stitched them up, just to get a little bit longer life out of them. ( I'm cheap, what can I say!) then when they no longer fit around the band and they were driving me crazy! i went and got fitted at a bally's or something. They fitted me wrong though, and I ended up getting smaller than they thought. I also had some old bras in smaller sizes that are in really good shape, so I started wearing them now too. they make my smaller boobies look perky! lol. Good luck ...this is only part of an amazing journey! Fun times lay ahead! -
Is coffee ok on pre-op diet?
transforming jlaroux replied to Poppie'sMouse's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The practice I go to told me no more than 16 oz of full, hi test coffee a day. No more IV drips for me ! that was for pre and post op. but when in doubt, ask your doc or your nutritionist. -
May 2011 bandsters how are you doing?
transforming jlaroux replied to healthierme72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there! I was banded on 5/24. I've lost 36 pounds since getting the band too! sounds like a trend. I'm at 47 pounds overall lost. I've got 8 or 9 cc in my band. I've forgotten, actually! I've had 3 fills and another one scheduled for sometime in October. I am soooo close to my green zone, I can just feel it! I've had things get stuck and I had my first sliming episode this weekend. No pb'ing and no throwing up though. I've been walking 2 miles twice a week, and generally just feel better. Still learning what I can and cannot eat. I think that part will be a lifelong journey since it changes from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour. -

Food addiction quiz
transforming jlaroux replied to Sistersue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So, I took the quiz two times. one with my responses from pre-banding, and one with my honest responses 4 months post band. I guess I'm on the right track. I went from being high to moderate. Still a food addict, probably always will be, I just cannot eat the way I used to. It's not possible now, but I guess its the same with other addictions, once an addict, always an addict. -

Sore Port Area
transforming jlaroux replied to brigittemarrow@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My gets sore occassionally. Mostly when I'm laying down, it feels like pinching. Don't know if its similar, or even remotely close to what yours is, but I asked my surgeon and he said its the scar tissue in the fascia where the port it attached. He explained it was very normal. -
Letter about loosing weight
transforming jlaroux replied to Looseitbeth's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
start by outlining all the reasons you want this surgery. Ask yourself questions like, how will this affect my life? Am I ready to commit to a lifetime change? What am I willing to give up/gain from having this surgery? What medical conditions do I have that will be resolved with weight loss? Use that as a jumping point, and I would imagine as you start to write your list, you will come up with many more things to add. Good luck! -

85 lbs in 1 year??
transforming jlaroux replied to BaileyRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am so greatful for this thread. I was banded on 5/24. My goal is 75 pounds by Thanksgiving. Our group gives a blue ribbon for 75 pounds, and my mission is to prove that bandsters can do it to! My next goal is 100 pounds by April 2012. Again, our team puts on a fashion show, that is soooo cool! You don't have to be at 100 pounds to be a part of it, but I am on a mission folks! there will be a bandster in that show that has lost 100 pounds! So I am so glad to hear all the positives that make me believe that I can also lose it! Right now, as of this AM I am down 43 pounds! Thats only 32 pounds to my first goal! Jenn -
May 2011 Bandsters Report In
transforming jlaroux replied to missmary44's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello out there! I have gained so much from my 42 pounds gone. I love my band. I've had 3 fills and have 8 cc in my 11cc realize band. I posted a list of NSV's in my hospitals fourm and wanted to share it with all of you, so here goes: I have lost two pants sizes and 1 shirt size. My skinny jeans are becoming my fat jeans. My double chin is now a chin and a neck.I can cross my legs.I can reach my shoes to tie them. I don't mind looking in the mirror, as much.People notice. My rings are too big.My lanyard hangs all the way to my belly button. My ankle has less and less pain everyday. My PCOS has resolved. The seatbelt in my car doesn't cut my neck.I have become an inspiration to others! Its amazing what you gain when you lose! Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear some of your lists! -
If your cooking it all day, you don't have to pre-cook the chicken. Be prepared though, chicken in a crock pot is super tender! Its falls off the bone, and you may end up with more of a pulled chicken. Maybe consider about 4 hours on high, and see where that takes you. Sounds delish!

I don't really know why I thought I could handle the large multi-vitamins. But I guess I had a momentary lapse... Anyway, for two mornings now, I have tried to take a rather large multi horsepill. And have experienced nausaeu, dry heaves, and lots of sliming. I cannot take them anymore. I was sick to death of the flavor of the chewable vits, and threw them out when I got these. I had one of my daughters gummy bears the other day, and it got stuck, so I don't think the gummy vit's are the trick either. I was thinking a liquid Vitamin because this is ridiculous! My question is, what kind of Vitamins do you take? Thanks!
