Nothing should hurt after a fill so i suggest u contact your doctor who did the fill and tell them how u are feeling .. hopefully u can get it sorted soon, u may just need a small unfill ..

I lost 4lb in a week a good few times and 3lbs a week on a regular basis not taking xenadrine . Try doing this journey without drugs.. the band likes to be in charge good luck !

Sudden Sharp Pain Around Port Area (2 Weeks Post Op) ??
Cazzy replied to sylviau's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mostly ports are sewn to muscle/flesh they are the slowest bit on your tummy to heal and they are very much stitched into place, u can easily get an odd stitch pull on you as your muscles heal and repair themsleves. If your port area is inflamed red and painful to the touch then u need to seek medical help if not just mention to the doc next time u go if it still bothers u , otherwise its all normal post op niggles and pains -
Welcome and good luck with your approval ... let us know how u get on

grats on your weight loss so far, i too have a 14 cc band, am at restriction at around 8 cc some of us hit it at a lower fill than others, what does happen tho is that suddenly u find a small fill of maybe 0.25 gives u exactly what u need, when u get closer to your sweet spot / green zone its more a matter of tweaking the fill, small can make a big difference, My fills dont normally kick in till a couple of weeks after they have been done so give it time !sounds like u are bang on target with your weight lost to date tho
-
Graats and well done your pics really do show the difference u are making .. keep up the good work !

Most people dont feel any restriction from their band till they have a few fills under their belt. This is perfectly normal, its called 'bandster hell' as all u can rely on till u start to feel some restriction is your own willpower, there are many many threads on this topic so u arent alone everyone goes through it. be patient, this time post op is for healing and learning to eat and following your doctors guidelines, u may even put on a few lbs when u start eating normally. U can start exercising once u get the all clear from your surgeon, then its up to you till u get into your green zeon/restriction .. dont worry its an anxious time but normally all works out in the end ..

Vomiting Precedes Eating As Much As Desired

I started out with dumbells and looked on you tube for some exercises and then i sit watching tv doing my strength training, i also got some resistance bands and do those too now, strength works best after your cardio workout but at a push u can fit them in anytime during the day , certainly it helps metabolise the carbs and sugar and that always helps with the weight loss .. its not complicated and i concentrate on reps more than doing heavy weight lifting .. you tube has got tons of easy to follow exercises .. good luck .. u can always do zumba with dumbells too

I have to say that i was never a junk food fan at all, i also just ate too much and never burned it off. I am opposite to you in the sense that i love veg green veg, broccoli i adore but i make soup with it and add frozen peas too u can add some parmesan to it and its a really filling soup which i still have for lunch every day a year and half later post op, but my trick is i have tomato weight watchers soup every dinner time before i eat, yes its a slider but it stops u over eating as it half fills u up before hand, it stops u eating to fast because u arent ravenous hungry any more. WW soups are only 70 calories and that to me is well worth the extra to get that 'full ' feeling still, i have a small dinner afterwards but because of the soup it feels like i ate much more than i did. Its not a conventional way of eating with a band but worked for me being a big eater rather than a junk food addict. The band will still reduce the amount u can eat and help the hunger in between meals .. i think it works just as well for big eaters as well as snackers and junk food addicts. Cut the soda out and eat small meals of what u like to eat and see if u can lose weight like that , u will probably need to exercise too and make sure u burn more calories than u eat. I understand what u are anxious about as i was too, but it can work if u know how to use it to suit your own needs ... good luck

First Band Fill, What Can I Expect?
Cazzy replied to didixo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Please remember a lot of people feel very little difference with a first fill and often for several fills after this. This is entirely normal, dont think it hasnt worked or something is wrong or the band isnt going to work. Most of us didnt start to feel any restriction till at least fill 3 or 4 some had to wait till fill 5 or 6, the number of fills only reflects the caution a fill doctor will use some will only put in around 1 cc of fluid, some will be more agressive. Everyone is different and all fills are different so just be patient and u do eventually get there sometimes sooner than u think sometimes longer .. Good luck to all you firrst fillers -
Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Cazzy replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Good to hear that u are getting your defill done After a fill i sometimes dont feel it kick in for around 3 weeks either, although when i was over filled i had to go back after 2 weeks, and it is a miserable time. Hopefully the defill will help and u can take fills slower from now knowing u may get too much restriction but delayed Did u get your new knife ? -
Restriction Vanished...
Cazzy replied to ♥EyeOnPrize♥'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Under normal circumstances most people can take 4 to 6 fills before they start feeling the full restriction u say at the minute you have only had 2 fills so u probably do need a couple more. You have probably lost some of the visceral fat around your tummy now and the band is looser than it started off, summer may have a slight impact on the restrictions levels but not to that extent, its more likely to do with your loss of internal fat .. keep getting your fills now till hit your gren zone and u will feel ok about the band again good luck ! -
Firstly Lupe to weigh yourself of a night is asking for trouble weigh yourself in the mornings as soon as u get up after u been to the bathroom then if want to record it each week u can just do it the same time and day each week, i weigh daily but that a personal decision. I can easily be 3lbs heavier if i weigh of an evening , but i only make note of mornings. You are still healing and u arent that long post op, this was and is no fast weight loss, most people wont begin to feel restriction from the band till they have a good few fills done, and many dont start losing much weight till then, how many years did it take u to get the weight u were, its not going to come off overnight, some people rely on willpower till the fills kick in so if u want to drop the weight faster then it will be back to good old dieting and exercising till u get near your green zone/sweetspot. Good luck and hope it alal works out for you !

Glad to read you are recovering well, remember this time is for you to heal, dont worry about losing weight, concentrate on eating helathy and right, chewing well and getting in your protein and water, the fills will start to help with more restriction but dont be too down if u have to wait till u have a few fills before u start feeling it

Nsv - I Never Saw That Coming!

I think that a lesson many people need to learn and understand. Calories eaten need to be less than calories burned .. the math is simple but application sometimes is hard .. great nsv tho well done -

Insurance And Reconstrutive Surgery
Cazzy replied to jennifer1's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Having read this forum regarding this question, it would seem common that there would have to be a medical need for any excess skin to be removed. U need to check if your insurance cover this and then u need to ask what the criteria is to get the costs met. Breast lifts would normally not be covered as this would be seen as cosmetic, but theres always exceptions to the rule and hopefully some other people who have had this done can help guide u. First port of call tho is getting the info from your own insurance company tho so .. good luck !
