I think a lot of people who have loose skin over here use things made of spandex, its good for keeping loose skin tighter but if its more than skin then i would think more support would be necessary like u would get in a girdle. I have a lot of spare skin and weat tummy control leggings till i can get a TT.

Various Amounts Of Fills
Cazzy replied to eac00100's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It woulld have been better to ask the doctor if he removed any liquid while u were there , i know sometimes my one withdraws all the fluid then puts it back in plus some, that way they can check for leaks. -
Thanks for commenting on the x box have been considering getting one for the dance routines, i might take the plunge now

Overfilled? Or Is This Normal The First Few Days?
Cazzy replied to changemynametoskinny's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If water wont go down then you need a small unfill, your doctor is right in that when u start dropping the lbs the band does loosen but u cannot afford to get dehydrated, I had exactly the same thing a couple of months ago i had a large fill and a week of struggling to drink much at all. I went back and got .5 taken out and it did the trick so if u do go back just get a small unfill and u should be fine. You cant really leave it for long if fluids wont even go down. Warm water/ tea / coffee if u allowed will go down easier than cold drinks. Also check out using ibuprofen with the doctor as this can irritate the stomach. -
How Long To Wait Between Fills
Cazzy replied to workinprogress0180's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It can quite often be several fills before one feels any form of restriction, being banded is a life long comittment to eating healthy and getting fitter. Its not a quick fix and takes time for the band to really start working with you. It took years to accumulate the weight we all put on and will take some dedicated time to getting it off again. The quicker fix would have been the bypass. I really dont understand why this wasnt explained to some of you pre-op. Theres lots of threads on this forum regarding fills and feeling restriction, its only a very small minority that feel restriction from day 1 so please just give it time, work hard and u will eventually see results ! -
My doctor advised 6 months post op for abs work, which i did ..
-
I have trouble with abs too, i feel like i can feel the band pulling or something, my surgeon said to stop if i felt this so i got a total abs core pro exerciser and found i can do them now as this supports your back and therefore less strain on your stomach. I know its not the best exercise for abs but its better than nothing and no pain, am hoping after 6 months i can get back to normal ab exercises.

The Ten Commandments Of The Lap Band....
Cazzy replied to Knaroz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dont understand why u are worried about the size of the band, 14 cc's gives u lots of room for adjustments..it really makes no difference to how u feel restriction. -
How To Make Our Marriage Survive Thru Lapband
Cazzy replied to caligirl07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would say that under most circumstances ( having been through a lot of fertility problems myself) that its normally weight that affects the womans fertility more than a mans ( sorry ) The mere fact of trying can cause enough stress to make it difficult for you to concieve too. Dont concentrate on what your friends have or havent and concentrate on making both of you as healthy as possible. Being banded does mean that you have to 'care' about the band in order to make it a success. Do you qualify for banding ? to travel this journey together would probably lead to better chances of both the band working and the chances of conceiving increasing. Its very hard to help with such an emotional situation but please try explaining how you feel to your husband, it needs u both to sit down without arguing and really communicate and plan what you both need to do to increase your chances. I know a few people on the forum have experienced their partners becoming a little unsettled that if they lose the weight they will just suddenly leave, so what u are feeling seems quite common. If necessary maybe see a counsellor, or seek help from another support .. Theres nothing to stop you going with him to the support groups I wish you good luck -
The Ten Commandments Of The Lap Band....
Cazzy replied to Knaroz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The size band is normally to do with the size of your stomach internally where the band fits and not your weight . -

Lap Band Newbie Needing Pre-Op Diet Advice
Cazzy replied to MissManders's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you are doing fine, I ate a lot of veg pre-op and stuck to a 600 calorie a day diet for nearly 3 months. I would just avoid eating too many root veg as these contain a lot more carbs than good green veg. Celery is a good snack veg, as its mainly water. Once you are post op u will have to cook your veg tho until you get to know what is possible to eat I still eat, a year later post-op, green veg soup home made every lunchtime. It has served me well ! -
gratz on your weight loss, i am the same as you carbs=weight for me too so i eat less than 30 grm a day if i can .. keep up the good work !

Help, I'm Gaining Weight!!!
Cazzy replied to JennK2008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could still be retention of fluid, i would measure your input and output on fluids for a week and then ask your doctor to look at the figures u have logged. Might also be an idea to look at the composition of the food you are eating, salt is a definite no no if u tend to hold fluids, or maybe u are very sensitive to carb intake, you have to make yourself your own expert, mix around your food, try eating different times, change what food you do eat, are u getting enough veg like broccoli all the anti oxident foods, all the metabolic foods that help u metabolise food. You can look these up on the net, but green tea (ugh) chilli dark green veg all help, im not saying they are miracles, but changing small things can lead to better weight loss. Make sure you weigh yourself the same time every day/week whenever u monitor it, normally first thing in the morning b4 u drink anything. Slider foods arent necesserialy a no no but u just wont get the signals of being full or restricted from them, just make sure the slider isnt bad for you. I have a veg soup every day for lunch made at home, Soup is classed as a slider but many of us here have lost our weight using soups for a meal. Good luck with sorting this out -
I would use sugar free cough syrup if u do need to take some, or maybe some honey and lemon in hot water or sugar free lozengers for throats/coughs, i cant see any contra indications for not taking it, but u are far better to ask your doctor about it

If u cant eat u need to go to your GP or the local A and E .. Even tho you had it done privately our NHS still has a duty of care for anyone with health problems whether they are a result of private surgery or not. If they refuse to help you i would insist that they do or make a complaint to your local health authority or health trust. The NHS is looking to fund all those revisions for those breast implants that have been in the news recently and your surgery wasnt even cosmetic. You still are under the NHS whatever your had done .. good luck Where are you located ?

Amen to the tea

I try to eat under 40 grm of carbs a day, I was used to low carbing following Dr. Bernstein regarding diabetes and low carb intake. I know my body sees carbs as its enemy so i listen to it. Dont miss carbs at all ....
