Nervous About Going Under
Cazzy replied to Fat Girl Slim's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have also had asthma since childhood and had a fair few surgeries over the years, it really never affected my asthma at all, i was more concerned with having to lay flat as i have always slept with at least 2 pillows. The hospital were great they let me have my head raised till i was out cold and i never knew, didnt have any issues after surgery either. I have a 4 -5 hour plastic surgery coming up in June this year, now thats a lot scarier than my little lap band op -
we all have a self destruct button and sometimes we just press it.. u wrote down all that u felt and did and that in itself often will put into perspective what actually happened. The wrong thing to do would be to repeat what u did again and again and again, its done now, put that day away as a bad one and move on to a better one. footnote .. dont buy stuff like that again !

No Fist Fill Till 28Th And Gaining
Cazzy replied to heathernotafeather's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Heather something like soft cotton from a tee shirt is best and make sure u change it the minute it gets damp. This is a horrid subject but a lot of people are affected by this. Dont use paper type products or things like gauze as they are abrasive, u need softness, raid some old tee shirt draws, make sure its a 100% cotton and make your self like a protective band of cotton under the flap .. if necessary make sure its double thickness .. Use no soap products other than natural ones with something like tea tree oil in it, i know its sounds like a performance to do all this but at 400lbs when i started i had a big area to protect and i never got sore once .. prevention is always the answer -
No Fist Fill Till 28Th And Gaining
Cazzy replied to heathernotafeather's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is common for people to put on some weight after surgery until u get some fills under your belt. How much weight u put on is purely dependent on your own willpower. This time you are in now is called bandster hell and many people get stuck in it till the fills start counting. This was always going to be surgery that relied on your choices as much as how much you eat which the band will help you with. If you dont buy fattening food how can u snack on it. Look up what others are eating, just eat more of it if u are hungry. Comfort eating needs to be cut out and good healthy food replacing it. Make sure u eat food that makes u feel full, is low fat low carb and full of protein, that way you stand a chance of getting through this time. Log everything u eat, even maybe join weight watchers till u are able to make better choices. I still get hungry now even after all the weight i have lost, but i snack on food that is low in calories but taste good, greek yoghurt, any 0 fat milk products count the calories and dont give up, you went through all this , dont give up on you or the band and start exercising like crazy .. calories burned needs to be greater than calories eaten ( for most of us anyways) some manage to lose weight and not exercise but for most of us we need to burn what we eat .. I also have a tummy flap with spare skin i always make certain that the skin never rubs against each other. Pad yourself out, its the only way to manage it to stop infections and getting sore. I wear tummy control leggings and no one knows there is padding there. I feel for you because it can be horrid to live with that but lose the weight and it certainly will improve .. good luck and dont give up .. -
Good news u can feel the water ,,keep up the good work and be careful what u eat and how u eat it from now !

Told Mum And Brother Me Getting Lapband Yesterday And They Want Me To Cancel
Cazzy replied to Sazparella's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its a difficult decision for you especially with some of the complications in your life from the depression, what i would say is think about what life holds for you if you dont have the surgery, is that not depressing too ? another angle to consider is maybe concentrating on things like you have to pre- and post op for the band could give u a new focus in life, something other to concentrate on rather than every day issues . If your brother is willing to support u in weight loss, ask for his support post-op, ask him to help u become your own expert on living with a band, if he is supportive then he should be for any weight loss however it is achieved. Ultimately the decision is and always will be yours, inconjunction with the surgeon. This could be the best decision you have made for a long time or it may not be. If you choose not to go ahead with it then are your weight loss goals achievable without it .. I really wish you well and hope u can come to a decision based on what your needs and wants are and not on those of others -
Gratzz on moving to onderland !

Cazzy replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I got to see this amazing surgeon yesterday am gonna go for surgery in June i have to do some work on my ab muscles and try and drop another 10lbs by then i might make it lol but its not essential. Tummy back and arms being done all at once .. eeek its scarey as it will be a long operation.. boobs and thighs will sort out later in the year or next year, my family are paying so not sure on cost at the moment, i will buy a camera and do some before and after pics and try and journal things so people can get an idea what its like .. will book in for another small fill i think just to see if i can knock these last few lbs off me .. we shall see -

well I dont think i look that amazing , my mind hasnt caught up with my body yet, its slowly dawning on me that i am a lot smaller ..I go see the Plastic Surgeon tomorrow, the loose skin is everywhere but its my badge of honour so although i dont like it i dont regret it either .. Am planning on the tummy and back first, they estimated i had around 14lbs of excess skin so theres another stone gone then once its all off : ) I will keep u all posted ! Sorry to hear of your loss Freckles. Good luck Saz for your soon to be slim life and surgery ! -

Gratz on your weight loss Brenda ..

I could not have any dressings on the wounds because of an allergy to adhesives .. that would certainly make u itch and it spread all over .. try what the doc said and see if after a few days things improve. I did have the wound glue but was ok with that for a little while but after a few days it began to get itchy but that is also a sign of healing so i just left well alone till i was healed .. I am only allergic to adhesives like steri-strips, micropore, surgical tape, band aids etc on my body, arms legs and everywhere else is fine so sometimes u dont know u have an allergy till u have something done

Gratz to you and bigger gratz for not gaining weight keep up the good work !

For most people the success of the lapband depends on them and how hard they work at making it a success. There are positives and negatives for all WLS but i chose the band above all else because i didnt want something that wasnt reversible. I have never regretted getting the band and even if something went wrong i know this was the best decision i made ..

Surgeon Abandoned his Patients - Dr. Eric Pinnar
Cazzy replied to emily_0192010's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
If you were self pay and part of your agreement was for you to get fills for life and he isnt around to do that i would look at making a claim against him to finance any future fills u may need. To me this is a clear breach of contract, verbal or written .. Let the insurance company worry about his bogus claims to them and look at a small claims court action ( or whatever the equivalent is in the US) where u can, if necessary take him to court wihtout a lawyer to get your future fills paid for . -
Been Banded For 4 Weeks Now
Cazzy replied to MommyNikki's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Dont forget that the food you eat contains water, you probably are getting what u need a day but some of it is hidden, i certainly only drink an additional 32 oz as pure water, the rest comes from tea, coffee and food. -
I have chilli flakes as a substitute for salt on some things like my chicken, never had a problem at all.. helps the metabolism is one claim, ive done well on it .. If u suffer from any form of heartburn, reflux etc, i dont think u meant to be eating spicy food tho so just be careful
