Can Anyone Out There Give Me Some Advice???? Please
Cazzy commented on zil's blog entry in zil's Blog
The closer we get to goal weight the harder it is to lose it, stalls are part and parcel of weight loss over a period of time and we have to accept that sometimes out bodies just dont do what we want them to. I am stalling now i am close to goal and i admit its tedious and annoying but i change small things like a small increase in calories, change the exercise a little, i also do bike riding and strength /resistance work, i was ill one week and didnt exercise and did lots of heavy housework instead, lost 4lbs that week then back to exercising the following week and lost nothing lol.. small changes do work just experiment and see -
Great news and well done keep up the good work !

Scared To Death Of Plastic Surgery!
Cazzy replied to Cheryldee's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I am having a 360 full body lift and my arms done in May its a 5 hour op.. scarey yes, needed .. oh most definititely. I have made my muslces as tight as possible doing every exercise i can to help them but skin is skin and the most advice i have been given is that no exercise in the world will get rid of it. I am not ashamed of my skin, i feel it is a badge of honour for all the weight i have lost, but i keep it covered outside the home because i know other people wont see it like i do. At least i go out now, when i was very obese i hardly went out at all, if i had to live with this skin i would .. Scars, well anyone can have scars i have had ceasarian scars for many years, ,its just the price u pay for something u want, We wanted to lose weight then we have to love ourselves for losing it and learn to live with what needs doing afterwards. I am confident pain management now is such that u may be uncomfortable post op but in pain no... u shouldnt be and those scars fade, some of the pics already on this forum show peoples recovery and how good they are looking now. I probably have some of the worst skin someone on this forum would have due to my age and amount of weight lost.. I will post pics for everyone to see and let u know how it goes .. my worst problem is losing this last 7lbs .. I am looking forward to getting rid of this skin and not worrying about how hot the summer will be -
I understand your frustration but u dont really make it clear why u are posting, do u want some support or just to let people know u are giving up.. We can help with support if u give a lot more details than what u have given, how much are u eating, what are you eating, what sort of exercise are you doing, how much fill in your band, do you have an addiction to food, the helpful info lets us existing banders understand what it is you are doing and how u could possibly move forward .. Most people here are long term yo-yo dieters, they lose weight and put it on and more again, a lot of us each used to gain weight every year, so you have the decision .. u stick with it and sort out what the problems are or you quit and stay as you are .. only after 3 months I doubt you have enough fills in your band.. Lapband can be for some a long slow process, but it doesnt work if u give up on it..

Today i am offically no longer obese I am just overweight.. . 14lbs to go !!!
-
my fills can take 2 -3 weeks to kick in
-
You have done really well so far and only a small amount of weight to go If u lose these last few lbs u may find that your band isnt quite so restrictive anyways as it tends to loosen with weight loss over time. There are a few of us stuck within about 10 to 20 lbs to lose and weight loss is sloooooow but u learn to eat for maintenance, so u can adjust your intake depending on if u want to lose or maintain. I certainly wouldnt unfill
-
sorry for your loss lol ... yea i wouldnt rush back to work if u can help it, i dont think its worth taking the chance of not being completely healed internally ..' just in case' is always better than 'take a chance' with stuff like this.. Glad to hear u got rid of 1 tube at least How are u doing with hospital food ? wish you well ..

Scared Of What Will Happen
Cazzy replied to tanilya hamm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most people who arent banded or know people who are banded base their opinions on news / press stories that highlight problems disasters with WLS .. its no suprise when unbanded people respond in this way. What u need to do is what pink dahlia suggests and get the knowledge to counteract their views. I would say that their opinion as friends only counts towards caring about you having 'surgery' which they should with any surgery, as for having a valid opinion about the band, nope Friends dont have to carry around your excess weight, you do .. therefore u need to be the one to decide if this is right for you .. good luck .. -

General Ramblings About The State Of My Life...
Cazzy replied to angel_eyes4477's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had bites of many things that one shouldnt have but a bite will do no harm and will often alleviate the craving or the need. Problems arise when its no longer one bite I am sure your mum is very proud of you, you arent continuing the journey alone, she was there at the start and maybe she felt that it was alright to go because she knew u were going to be ok now.. She will always be with you in your memories and heart. Keep the good work up and i hope that life will improve for you as u lose more weight My thoughts are with you .. -
good luck and pics pls i want to see them before mine later in the same month lol

i have heard of some people having it stitched to a rib too

How Long Does It Typically Take To Get Used To Restriction?
Cazzy replied to LittleGirlBlue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I also think that a smaller plate will stop u piling the food up, i was brought up to eat what i was given and still find it hard to leave food and stop eating all the food on it, so i made it easier on myself and made my meals smaller in the first place. It does help. I used a teaspoon to eat with after cutting up things like meat.. i tended to put more on my fork if i used one. Takes a good while to get rid of long entrenched habits like not wasting food -
The leslie sansom videos on walking at home are very good if u want to exercise at home, u can choose between 1 mile and 4 mile programmes and u can go at your own pace, i am not a walker, i get a little bored walking, but the videos are good and i enjoy those, i also would suggest doing some resistance bands/dumbells i started off with these as i couldnt really exercise at first, u can do them sitting down in front of the tv, u build muscle tone up and this helps burn calories. I use an exercise bike as my key calorie burner now, still do strength and add in some xbox dance 3 and some abs work now .. The main thing with any exercise is to find something u like to do, and do it as regular as u can. Liking what u do keeps u doing it .. start off easy and slow and each week just build up the intensity slightly.. Cardio first then strength is always the better method. good luck and keep moving

I never notice it at all, i would imagine that u may have difficulty or feel it more if u wore underwire bra's as this may press on the port a little, i tend to wear sport bra's .. Since i lost a lot of weight the port is obviously more prominent now than it used to be .. not sure what place is best to be honest .. i just know i like mine where it is ... Hope u had a good night Jachut ..

What size band do u have cadence ? It wasnt until i got around 7.25 that i really felt some restriction, i got stuck still but woiuld get hungry in between meals and probably eat a little more than i thought i could. My surgeon at Nuffield Hospital says just be careful after a fill, they always do the water test fills then afterwards make u sit and eat a yoghurt before going home, but he doesnt really push for liquids only .. I eat 3 meals a day .. dinner in the evenings around 6 pm i try not to have any snacks at all of an evening just tea or coffee and use them as fillers during the day in between meals. I normally have some form of protein and 2 green veg, or a salad. I always start my dinner with a weight watchers tomato soup to stop me from eating too fast or too much as this makes me feel half full even before i start eating. The trick is to keep everything that you are supposed to do in your head and just tweak it to what works for you.. I know exactly what food i can and cant eat, what makes me heavier in the mornings when i weigh myself and u just have to keep plugging away at it. I do try and do as much exercise as i can as i would be a slow loser without it. I also eat food that supposidly helps speed up the metabolism like broccoli, green tea, asparagus, chilli etc i googled it .. I wouldnt lose much weight at all if i went over 1000 calories a day so i dont, i burn around 800 a day and include strength training which to me is a must to develop muscles enough to burn even more calories.. it works for me anyways, sounds like u still need your fills tweaking . My last fill was 0.3 and that works good for a while, i am back next monday for another small fill .. Good luck and dont give up .. i am sure if you wernet banded you would have put on weight maybe so the loss might not be much but in the grand scheme of things u have halted your weight gains -
For The Ladies Who Have Also Had Csections.....

My lapband surgery was a breeze compared to my c - section .. -
Yout tongue will get like a fur on it, making it feel bigger .. like cotton mouth if u arent eating solid food and it doesnt slough off. Protein shakes are notorious for it if u are drinking them I would use one of theose toothbrushes with the tongue brush thing on .. or chew gum If your tongue is really swollen might be an idea to call the doctor as u may have an allergy to something ..
-
niceee hope u do ok .. i know i wont be in such good shape after all mine are nipped and tucked lol
-
I suggest you start using weights and restance bands while u are sitting down, i started off at 400lbs and this was the only exercise i could manage for a good few months but it does burn the calories and it helps u gain muslce and that will help your metabolism. I would also look into something like a recumbent or normal exercise bike, Alot of people can manage to sit and exercise a lot easier than walking. I have used my exercise bike for over a year now and i have 2 bad knees, any non weight bearing exercise is better than none good luck and keep up the good work ..

Weight Gain After 2Nd Fill-Looking For Advice/encouragement!
Cazzy replied to The Whela's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wanting to lose 50lbs is as important you as it was to me wanting to lose 0ver 200lbs .. no one should deny the way you feel about yourself and good luck to you for doing something based on what you want and not what others think u need. The problem you have is based on needing to lose only a relatively small amount of weight, it will come off really slowly compared to others like myself, once we get to within 50 lbs of goal weight we also are slowing down too. Now is the time to make sure you get to your greenzone sweetspot ... Its a long way to travel to get a fill but until u start getting rid of the hunger pangs your emotional tyope eating wont really go away, unless u use sheer willpower. Make sure if you live alone you do not buy any food that your eyes want, stick to what your body needs and eat well and healthy. Why on earth would you have choch cake even in the house ... really thats a big NO NO lol If you want to do something to enjoy your more healthy food more then start cooking, look for low fat/low cal/low carb recipies and use the time u would be eating in front of the tv to experiment. You must become your own expert, testing out what foods work for you what dont, what food sticks what doesnt. The fills are important for the support but this is your chance to finally get rid of that sack of weight u carry around with you. You dont mention exercise i would def start looking into filling time with movement and use that as a companion and not food. Do i still get hungry after all this time, yes i do, reading posts here i do seem to eat more than a lot of people in terms of amounts as we dont measure cups here in the Uk .. I have say a soup, chicken breast 2 green veg and jello/yoghurt for my dinner .. Ijust use a smaller plate and use that as a 'measure' ... I am down to maybe 1lbs a week now for this last small amount of weight to come off and i am having to work twice as hard to even get a lb off so u may need to step it up a lot in order to get your last few lbs off too.. Change your mind regarding food and your body will follow. Food isnt your friend and shouldnt be treated as such. It needs controlling and putting in its place in our lives .. Good luck and keep working, go get a fill and see how that will help -
