Dont give up on this there is 2 solutions, find a doctor that might do it at your bmi or lose the weight. I started off at 68 bmi so i was even heavier than you .. i stuck to a 600 clorie a day diet that actually worked really well and i lost 36 lbs in 10 weeks before i was operated on .. it sounds like a daunting task but believe me it was easier than it seemed it would be. Whats the worst that can happen, u have to delay surgery till u lose what they want u to, many people here have to go on a supervised diet for 6 months pre-op for insurance requirements, so u wont be any different except u have a higher goal is all, when u start to climb a mountain like i had to i put my head down, focused on nothing but losing weight and it worked.. Good luck with the support from this forum i am sure u can do it

Is There Any Danger To The Band That I'm This Stressed Out?
Cazzy replied to SashaWLS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mybe they dont like the answers lol -
I have the same problem my band surgeon says dont lose any more weight my plastic surgeon says see if u can drop a few more lbs before the op .. i have a few lbs to go till my goal but my band surgeon says i will loose too much weight if i have all the skin removed, my family see my thin face and say u have lost enough but i am not convinced yet, i will see after i recover from my marathon plastic surgery.. At the end of the day it is you that has to live with yourself and be happy in your own skin, so the decision is yours, just dont go below the normal bmi range, if u still want to lose weight aftrer u hit normal bmi then u know u got a problem with self perception

Which Post-Band Diet Works Best For U?
Cazzy replied to Sarahbear0429's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
By losing 7lbs the first week your body will adjust and normally only let you lose a small amount the following weeks, average of 1-2 lbs per week isnt weekly, base your average over 4 weeks and u already hit goal. I am sure it must have been explained to you that this is not a fast track weight loss u already hit goal this month on average terms so now u can enjoy losing the extra lbs you lose and dont stress over it. Thw numbers u put down seem fine to me maybe try a 100 or 200 a day more but the nutrition side seems right .. personally i would give it a few weeks of doing the same thing if u are stuck losing then change something like the amount of calories but any changes make them small -
i would suggest that you have a complete unfill and see if you can cope without the help of a band, if you can then u are better deciding to remove it or not .. good luck to you .. at least by unfilling u will get a reminder of what it was like pre-band

Gastric noises are all part of being banded .. its nothing sinister just normal for banders

Being in the green zone is different for everyone so hard to really pinpoint any specifics. Try searching the forum here for threads, as there are many, that can give u some idea more. For me the green zone is about not feeling hungry inbetween meals, i can only eat a small plate of food and feel satisfied, i also look at things like snacks, is a small snack satisfying, like i rely on tea and coffee for my snacks in between meals and if they stave off the hunger pains i know my band is in the right fill ..but as i stated it is diofferent for everyone so your green zone may be entirely different to mine

Concentric Pouch Dilation
Cazzy replied to karab324's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to bite the bullet and go back to your doctor, i dont understand why you wouldnt want to see him, surely u were feeling like this when u first started this journey and u managed to overcome your feelings to get the ball rolling, just know that the fear of doing something is always worse than actually doing it. It might actually be the best thing u have done to help yourself .. so make that appointment and go talk to them Just swap your soda for water and dont drink at meal times and even that small change will make a difference .. The other thing i want to mention is that if u can see your stomach outline it may well be that you have what is called a Diastasis Recti whioch is to do with the ab muscles not pulling together like a pair of curtains that just wont close, look it up on google and theres a test u can do to see if thats the problem. It often happens if u have been very heavy or from being pregnant -
Quite often my fills dont kick in till a week even 2 after a fill, i am sure surgeons/fill doctors are aware of this issue with some people so if u have to go back for a small unfill its not unusual for them.. The problem i have found is the more u are stuck and are sick the more swollen u become and the more the band tightens. You need to go back to at least 2 days of liquids only to give the band and your stomach a chance to settle down. The mucus thing i have heard of as some have mentioned it here on the forum but not sure what it is unless its to do with allergies or your sinus draining mucus into the pouch a lot. If you are having difficulty with liquids then u should go back for a small unfill as soon as you can and discuss this mucus thing with your surgeon too ... I know its hard but really the finger down the throat job to make yourself sick is not good and u need to get this sorted out. The more you are sick the more swollen u become, i know this from my slight overfill i had 3 weeks ago i lasted 2 weeks but it just wouldnt loosen so i had to get a small unfill and all is fine now ..

How Does Your Surgeon Feel About The Band?
Cazzy replied to lovex5's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I totally agree with Honk, most of the time the success of the lapband is based on the individual, their support network and their ability to make the changes necessary. I do see the benefits of sleeve and bypass if u are willing to take more risks both surgically and post op complications .. if u arent the band is there chugging away like a slow but faithful car, it will still get you there if u drive carefully but if u want speed then choose another surgery if u are willing to take the higher risks -
Not New To Lap Band, But Still Frustrated
Cazzy replied to Gayla1313's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
One thing that can cause further problems with adjustments is putting weight on .. I understand that initially the band caused the problems but gaining weight will make the band fluctuate in tightness, the same as losing weight will slacken the band a little. Think of it like a belt, u gain weight the belt tightenes and u you put it on the next hole down, lose weight and the belt loosens and u need to tighten it ... I know its hard but gaining weight will cause all sorts of issues with your band and may even contribute to gastric type problems if u are eating the wrong type of food .. Try to start again on liquids mushies etc and give yourself a chance to get back to balancing things more .. good luck ! -
Hoping To Get Lapband Surgery!
Cazzy replied to bipolarbaby's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good luck with sorting out the band .. you may even be lucky and be able to reduce the psych meds after u lose weight, getting the body in balance and working right always helps the mind .. i wish you every success.. -
The main reason they fit larger bands is to do with the size of your stomach, although sometimes it is just a doctors preference, there is no difference between the 2 bands working other than capacity and the overall length of the band, i have a 14 cc band and was told the reasons why i had this size fitted, ask your doctor if u are curious. I am at 7.5 cc fill now and get good restriction the same as others who have a 10cc band .. u dont mention how much fill you have..

I cannot eat scrambled eggs at all even after being banded over a 1yr so i would avoid them too ..

Egg, Chicken, And Tuna Salad...good To Go For You?
Cazzy replied to Passionatehrt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
In no way is salad a slider food neither are whole proteins like tuna and chicken, slider food is more like mushie type food, soups or food that passes very quickly through the band and doesnt get stuck. Nothing wrong in eating healthy slider foods if u arent eating calorie laden junk food, but you are less likely to get your full signals if you do .. i live on salads through the summer so keep on going with the salads they are excellent meal choices I was a salt addict but use low salt now on my tuna as i cant stand tuna without any salt at all but i dont mix in the salt in like i used to i sprinkle it on top so it helps keep the flavour but u dont need as much .. -
0% greek yoghurt mixed with skimmed milk will make the same as a shalke and fill u up a little more.. this is bandster hell at the moment till u get some fills under your belt, just stay on track and follow the schedule regarding liquids, mushies etc and hopefully u will get through this time without gaining any weight but just eat healthy and worry about weight loss after u start getting fills, the general rule is that most can put on weight at this time so keep going things will work out in the end

Yea my girls will probably get done later in the year along with my legs maybe .. will see after all the scaffolding is gone and my tummy is flatter

There are a few people on this forum that have had problems, i think itsd called the Vegas Nerve so look it up here or google it, i would have thought that if something had happened to your port the ultrasound would have picked that up on your last fill, see what happens this time and insist they check the band again after all u are paying for the service

Day 2 Of Liquid Diet/won Free Cookies At Work Lol
Cazzy replied to SabrinaS's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep making decisions like that and you will do fine -
Great job, not long to go now till goal.. keep up the good work !

It isnt the amount of fills its the fill itself that matters, how much fluid is in your band now? what size band do u have? Are u losing a lot of weight ? weight loss causes the band to slacken a little too, i have the opposite problem i feel nothing after a fill for around 2 weeks then it tightens .. we are all different .. if u are getting close to the maximum fill level for your band u may want to get them to check for leaks .. its a remote possibility but can happen ..

Losing Weight Without Restriction?
Cazzy replied to JanellesMommy8210's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is really an individual thing, but in 'general' most people dont feel restriction till a few fills are done, however there are people who have been on this forum that reached goal weight with no fills just the band .. its good u feel some restriction now .. so be happy !
