Only on a forum like this would I ask this question. What did it look like when it came up? If there were no chunks then more than likely the food wasn't stuck. I have never heard of anyone getting stuck on soup anyway. There should not have been anything from the previous meal still in your pouch. I would say just eat more slowly and make sure you stick to foods that do not have any kinds of chunks in them. Cottage cheese, yogurt without fruit, mashed potatoes, oatmeal and grits are some things that immediately come to mind.

Your port is probably fine and even if it is not that is the least of your worries. Hopefully you do not have a prolapse or erosion from being too tight. Please let us know how your appointment goes.

Appt tomorrow, possible fill?
ABERG replied to nurse535's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would agree with not getting a fill. It sounds like you are doing a good job and the only thing worse than not having restriction is having too much. Keep going like you are, you will know when you need that first fill. -
I am pretty sure you are too tight. If your practitioners have not heard of this before they are either lieing to you or not very well educated on the band and its side effects. Do they do a barium swallow before you get a fill, or have they ever done one? If not, you need to find someone that does do barium swallows or use who does fills under the flouroscope ((sp?). This will allow the practitioner to see how tight you really are as well as if there are any problems with the band, esophagus or stomach. I think you should do this ASAP and do it regardless of the cost. Something about your symptoms is simply not right!
