Lap Band eroded - need advice

I am facing the same situation! I have lost over 100lbs over the past 7 yrs, my band has slipped. I can have mine replaced but at my own expense and I don't have the money for that...plus if there were any further complications I would have to cover it myself. I am so depressed over losing my band, I know I am going to regain my weight, I am scared to death!

Lap Band Removed 2 weeks ago!

I too am now faced with losing my band after 7 yrs! It has slipped and the only reason I don't get it replaced is insurance. Insurance covered to put it in and they will pay to remove it, but they are now not covering weightloss surgery so they won't replace it. If something was to happen down the road I would be stuck with the bill. I am terrified of regaining my 140 lbs I have lost. You are not alone here.

    slipped band/self pay

So I have had my band for 7 yrs with no issues! I have lost over 100lbs. My band slipped around christmas time and I JUST now got Humana to agree to pay to REMOVE the band, but if I want it replaced, I will have to pay for that, which is fine. My worry is this...what about if this happens again? What about future complications? I know they are rare but I was going to have to pay $18k to remove this band if Humana didn't agree to pay it. Anyone else ever had complications without ins paying to fix it? What are my options?
