What Foods Are High In Protein ?
banditarian replied to 2bSMALLER's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think Ben and Jerry has a new flavor of ice cream it only comes in half gallon sizes. It's called " Protien Shmotein with Protein chips " it's a joke people relax yourselves and looses up a bit. Know how to have fun dont get too uptight. The only thIng that should be tight is our bands. P.S. seriously though if u can post a question about foods high in protein u might as well just google it ! Fish meat egg whites peanuts -
Is Anyone Else This Cold?!?!? Poor Body Temperature Regulation
banditarian replied to khath0620's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It kinda will. But I had the same thing. It's because you lost a lot of your inner fat called omentum which is like an apron for your innards that's why you're chilled alot. You are not alone and you're perfectly normal enjoy the skinny chilled you. -

I Swear I Can Feel My Lap Band!

Wow. You are actually serious. You don't feel your band that's guaranteed. I you were that thin why would you need one then. Common sense and logic speaking here. Go to bed. -
Should I Get Ivc Filter before Lapband???
banditarian replied to tandi04's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Only get it when you need it. Remember it must eventually come out. So it's a come back procedure to have it removed a month or so later. So if you don't need it dont get it. Ask about heparin some surgeons give heparin the day o surgery it thins out the blood for a little while while you recover in the next day. Walk after your surgery is best anti clotting precaution you can make. Just walk and be mobile. Laparoscopic surgery doesn't hurt that bad you will be mobile right after. Best of luck and take care. -

2 Weeks Post Lap Band Surgery And A Margarita???
banditarian replied to Kellysue's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
PLEASE DRINK. I went to my company holiday party two weeks post op and was doing shots of vodka, felt great. Don't sweat it. Don't buy into all of these post about CALORIES and such , just enjoy everything you can. A few drinks will not hurt. And if your stomach starts hurting (it may) just stop. -
Guys with these symptoms must see a surgeon and possibly need some fixing.

long time lapbanders input requested
banditarian replied to falcon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It takes a while. Like a year or even more. Dont push it every time. 70 lb is nIce but kinda fast what does your Dr. Say about that. You must be super restricted. Just take it slow. Buy smaller plates and tiny almost toy like forks I heard it helps people get into the portion control that way. I'm 6 years out. Good luck. -

First time Stuck....questions?
banditarian replied to Stargurrl*'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a small bit of info to maybe help some people. TRY TRY your hardest to Avoid all those problematic foods( which may be different for different people ) If youre wrenching and throwing up often it may increaser your chances for having complications such as slips an hiatal hernias. So once you've learned about your problem food just eliminate them from your diet. If you love pizza just eat the cheese and the sauce so you're reminded of what pizza tastes like. I know what it's like to start missing certain foods but we've all been counseled prior to all of our surgeries as to what changes are ahead of us. Band is just a small part of this very big picture. So please no pizza dough anymore P.S. I dont want to teach anyone how to cheat your band but if you want to work around it. Before you start eating. Make a warm cup of somewhat sweet tea and start slowly eating and drinking small little warm sips to relax your esophagus and in no time you'll learn how to cheat your band and eat whatever. But remember it's cheating. -
What are signs that a band has slipped?
banditarian replied to kit2477's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is what I felt. Reflux at night. Woke up coughing up and often choking on sour pieces of consumed food with lots stomach acid with it. And on some days the band felt loose (no restriction at all) and on other days couldn't even have a sip of warm tea. Hope it helps. -
Do you still enjoy food after lapband...
banditarian replied to Band. James Band.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Some food you will never enjoy the same way. Like grabbing food on the go especially. Forget those on the go slice of pizza the dough will make you pay. Same goes for a lot of meat especially medium rare type of steaks and whatnot. It's just not the same. But it's a small price to pay for staying healthy and alive for some people. Look, the buttom line is - If you are oddicted to food the LapBand might not be for you because chances are you will find a way around the band and become a non-compliant patient which will more than likely hinder your process of weight loss. I am a band patient myself and I am speaking from personal experience. I am not attacking or discouraging anyone i am simply sharing me personal opinion. FOOD ADDICT=NO BAND! seriously you will only hurt yourself more -
