I went for my 4 th fill with my Dr yesterday, at least I thought it was my 4th. As the Dr's assistant was reading the notes she had indicated that I only had 6 cc's in the band however according to the Dr's notes I had 8, so since there was a discrepency they withdrew all the Fluid and then put is all back in plus one cc. As it turns out when I had my first fill under fluro he missed the port. When I went in for my second fill also under fluro when he tried to withdraw fliud there was none. Unfortunately he did not tell me this I found out yesterday. That explains why my weight loss as been slow and I really did not feel anything until my 3rd or actually my 2nd fill. So now I finally have my third fill and actually feel when I drink liquid and have to drink very slowly. Now maybe I will see more results. Sonia ~ any word on the interview/job? Mandy ~ How many days until your vacation?

Hi everyone, I just return to chicago from an interview in FL and will be moving down there in the next couple of weeks. I start my new job on 9/4. I will be living in Venice and working Sarasota. I was banded 1/31/07 here in Chicago area and will need a band Dr in Fl to do my fills. Does anyone have any suggestions for Dr in the Sarasota/Venice area. My mom cut a message out of the paper for Weight-loss surgery Group. The Bypass and Bandster Buddies group of Char-Lee-Sota. Is anyone filmilar with this group and is there a Dr affilated with it? Hope to meet some of you soon.

Michelle ~ Congrats on being a new bandster Sonia ~ Good luck with the 2nd interview, let us know when it is. Manday ~ Glad to hear you are recovering. How are you handling not having and fill? I go for my forth fill tomorrow. I am really frustrated since I told them months ago after reading on this board that UHC was not paying for fills so guess what. The 2 fills I had in may were denied and they sent me to collections without even giving me achance to repay. So now I have to deal with them and collections. I just got back today from FL and have so much to do now. I am hoping to leave by 8/28. If you do not mind I will probably drop in every once in awhile just to see how everyone is doing... I have more time this weekend to get together. Next weekend will be more difficult because I will be moving furniture and what ever else I can out of my apt before the movers comes. My brother is taking some stuff, not sure yet what I am doing with everything else.

Sonia ~ It is funny you should ask about the tarot card reader. In Feb while I was still at my old and they had tarot readers in for a Mardi Gras party. The tarot reader told me I would be moving in with my parents and making a big move. While I got the job in FL and start on 9/4. I will be moving in with my parents. The unfortunate thing about this is that I do not know the name of the tarot card reader. Sorry! I wish you the best of luck looking for a new job. The good news is I GOT THE JOB! As for the lunch maybe we can have a packing party at my place LOL!!!! Let me know when and where and I will try to make on last lunch. Take care!

Well I was just reading the FL thread but I want to wait until I have actually accepted the job before I presue a Dr down there. I also want to find out what their medical is to see if I will be able to get fills covered. As for the job, it is working for an insurance software company. They sell their software to Property and Casualty insurance companies in the state of FL. They are expanding quite a bit and have several jobs posted. However the one that they are considering me for is a Quality Analyst Lead position. I have 6 years Quality Analyst experience in the Life and Annuity side of the insurance indutry and I also have property claims experience and an understanding of U/W which were all a requirement. When I did the phone interview I thought I was interviewing for a different position and was very happy when she told which posiiton she would consider me for. It will be a nice increase in salary. The job is locate in Sarasota FL Gulf Coast. It is 20 minutes from parents. I will be living with my parents. Since they are getting up there in years and my mom has wanted me to move in for awhile this will help them out. They have actually been considering moving back here because they were afraid if something happened no one would be done there to help. After a year or so we will sell their house and then I will buy one have them live with me. I am really excited about everything. The head hunter that I have been working with said I have the job unless I say something that really upsets them on Friday during my face-to-face. So I will keep my mouth shut as much as possible. LOL! He also told me that Of all the people they have sent to them I am the most qulified. They have already hired 4 other folks that he has sent them. 3 of them being from out of state. Sorry for all the detail but I am really excited. With job I feel I will finally be getting paid for the job I do. Not to mention the added experience.

Welcome Chrissy! Mandy ~ I will have to let you know when I will be available when I get back from FL next week. It depends on how soon I might have to move. I have an interview in FL on Friday. They did a phone interview and want to do the face to face. The job is 15 minutes from my parents. Since they are getting older they were considering moving bak here in case something happened, because the rest of the family is up here. So if I get this job I will move in with them to help them out. I was told that when they fly you in they are 90% precent sure they are going to hire you. It is a really great opportunity, so I am hoping.

If you are having trouble with your B12 levels then I would suggest taking a separate B12 Vitamin. My B12 was low before surgery and I was on shots and Super B Complex vitamin and could not get my B12 up. I am currently taking the B12 sublingual that you can put under the tongue. My levels have gone up and I no longer need the shots. I also started taking Metanx prescribed by my Nuerologist because I am loosing sensation in different areas. This has active B12 and is fairly new and I have introduced my PCP and podiatrist to the medication. I hope this helps.

I have been taking Yasmin since last September, I did gain some weight back then but I do not attrribute it to the BC as there wer some other things going on at the time. I was band 1/31 and it has not effected my weight loss.

I actually had low B12 and low B6 before surgery (diagnosed 10 months before surgery). I started the B12 shots bi-monthly and then would go to monthly then back to bi-monthly. I could not get my B12 to stay elevated. I was and still am taking to b Super Complex Vitamins. In May of this year I asked my PCP if I could start taking the B-12 sublingual and I did. My neurologist also then prescribed Metanx it is like a Vitamin but it has active B12 and Folic acid. Since I started taking these I no longer need to get the B-12 shots. I am also only taking the sublingual every other day (tab that disolves under the tongue). Point being that even after the Band Shots are not necessary and that I was able to get off the shots after surgery. Everyone is different so some may need to take it and some may not. Many of the bypass patients in our support group can get by with just the sublingual. Good Luck with your surgery and journey!

Well I was just at my PCP office today and went up 1 pound since the last time I was in three weeks ago, not a good thing since there is a differnce between their scale and mine it looks like I am up 3 pounds, which is actually what I weighed on my scale as well this morning. My Lap Band surgeon was in my PCP office as well this morning (once a month he is there). He was leaving and saw me in the waiting room and he ask me when they would see me again and I told him soon since3 I think I am putting weight back on. So hopefully I will be able to get another fill soon and start going back in the right direction. Keep up the great work everyone. Sweet Violet had PM me and was going to come down on Sat with me. I will let her know that plans have changed. Also I am not sure I can make it. I am at my brother's trying to help him pack to move. They are closing on their house Aug 1st. I am suppose to go home today however.... Last night's strom cause their basement to flood twice (no damage caught it in time) and then at 2 in the morning we found a tree in their swimming pool (was struck by lighting). When it rains it pours...... I am staying to help them today but between helping them and needing to get things done at my place I am not sure I will be able to make it. Sorry. I am not fimilar with Dr Shayani or Day one Health, however I know there are a couple that talked about One Day health on the Chicago Friends thread. If you go out to that thread and pose the question you may get some more responses. I just joined the gym this week. I had orientation on Friday and will have a free assessment on Monday. I am really excited about it. I have a treadmill at home but really have not been motivated to use it. The gym will provide me more of a variety. I get really bored walking on the treadmill or just walking all the time.

Girl ~ I was banded on 1/31 and also struggle for awhile. I couple of things to consider is what size band to you have. I have the VG band (10cc), 1st fill 4 cc no restriction, 2nd fill 2 cc no restriction and 3rd fill 2 cc and some restriction finally. I have only lost 18 pounds since surgery the last 10 since my 3rd fill 5/31. I was very frustrated as well. If you still do not feel restriction schedule another appointment with your Dr, maybe you do need more. You will feel it unfortunately it can take some time.
