  1. Keeping busy iat night is a great stategy. Knitting is great. I made SO many scarves one winter and it kept me from snacking at night. it,s hard to eat and knit a t the same time!
  2. Hi, I have been on a plateau for a few months too . I am on this site for the frost time to try to get myself back on track. Have lost 65 lbs but could loose another 50 or more. . Don't be so hard on yourself. This is really difficult or we'd all be tsuper thin. This is a lifelong habit you are trying to break. You haven't blown it...just take Larrypdot's advice and start packing a lunch and snacks. Youncan buy really cute lunch bags now that look like purses ( ok it's such a girl thing I know but it helps). Also I find keeping track of proteins in a cute little journal is helpful and if I miss a day I don't beat myself up. I am trying to break years of being hard on myself for everyblittle thing and you should stop doing it to yourself. Just start again...we can do this!!! I try to do something fun as much as possible, even if it's a little thing. Be kinder to yourself. I had my surgery last August, a month after I lost my wonderful mom who was my best friend and I am determined to live longer than she did and be in better health so my kids don't have to go through this too soon. Normally I would have eaten and eaten from this much grief but instead have put the energy into this experience. Try exercising more, maybe pack a small lunch and take a walk at lunch time. Even the short walks add up over time. Good luck..you can get back on track, it's the long run that counts.

Good luck on your surgery, It's the best thing I've evr done for myself. Be sure to get up and walk asap after surgery. It's difficult but you can do it. I felt better much sooner than a lot of people I spoke to and the nurses said it was because of my doing laps around the floor.
  4. Hi congratulations on making a great decision. I was banded last August 23 and it was the best thing I've done for myself. I've lost 65 lbs and want to loose more. I feel about 20 years younger and can do so many more things that I thought were lost to me. One of my very favorite things was going on an airplane and not having to ask the 115 lb. Air steward for a belt extension. It was really a wonderful feeling. You have a lot of great things to look forward to. The best prep I did pre surgery is to give myself my own cupboard in the kitchen. I have chosen not to tell many people about my surgery as I didn't everyone to ask a million questions and watch everything I ate. I wanted all of my weight loss "gear" ie.books, Vitamins etc to be in one place behind doors.I put any food that is just for me there to help me keep on target ( and so my 17 year old son didn't inadvertently eat it!) I was worried about remembering to do everything I was supposed to do and this has really helped to have it all in one place. Buy a really cute lunch box so that you can always have "safe" food with you. I also bought a really pretty journal to write in and keep track of Protein grams, what I eat, feel or anything else I want to put in. Treat yourself to nice things that wil be great to look at everyday. I decided to make this My Year and exercise ,loose weight and get healthy. It is knot easy to do this and it's difficult to not have food for comfort so you need to think of other things to fill the gap..do something fun every day even if it's a small thing. also follow all the directions that your doctor and staff give you and you will succeed. Get up and walk in the hospital as soon as you can and make yourself do it. You will feel much better faster and not have to worry about clotting. I didn't intend to go on and on...but it is a life changing event and I am still in progress and still have to work hard. Good luck and great success to you! You can do it.!
