Well, I weighed this am and I am down 20 lbs. WOOOOOO HOOOOO. Only 45 more to go!!!!!. I was banded 7 weeks ago. I feel better than I have in LONG time. I know I look better too. Had a follow up dr apt yesterday and he said I was doing great. I am scheduled to get another fill on Tuesday. I think I will go buy myself a new pair of shoes or a new purse for hitting my mileston. What did yall do when you hit milestones?

My Dr. is way too timid with fills
sandiburn replied to aroundthetown's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I agree to call around and see if ther is another dr for you. You OFFICIALLY only have to wait 2 weeks before you can have another fill. My dr believes that it is good to fine the green zone as soon as you can. There is a better success rate then. Remember its your health and your body. But also be patent. Be sure to drink lots of water in between till you can get a resolve. good luck with your jorney. -
I will share my meatloaf with you. Its really good, cheap and very soft. I can even eat it during my mushies stages. Also, go to the Food section of this forum, there are good things there too. 1 lb ground turkey, 1 can diced tomatos, 2 eggs, 1 pc of wheat bread, 1 can tomato sauce, and pacante sauce. mix turkey, tomatos (drained) and eggs. Wet pc of bread and squeeze out all the water and add to mixture. Season to taste. It will seam very soft. that is normal. Be sure to get bread all mixed in and not clumpy. The eggs keep it moist and the bread acts as the glue to keep it together. Once in a pan, top with tomato sauce and pacante sauce ( the more you put on it the more of a kick it will have). Bake at 350 for 1.5 hrs. Trust me, people at work that dont like meatloaf, like mine. Break it down into portion sizes and take it for lunches or freeze it. I hope you enjoy!!! Good luck to you on your journey.

I am not quite 2 mts out and there are times that I feel hungery too. I talked to my dr and he told me to go get a fill. You only HAVE to wait 2 weeks between fills. I had my first fill 3 1/2 weeeks ago and i get another one in a few days. Remember the rulls, drink lots of water, and "stay out of your head". Good luck wih your journey.

Congrats to you. I have not ad to buy a new bra, but I did get to take out my extender and tighten it up. I figure they will last me another month or so. I wear a DDD and they are harder to find. I am getting smaller around , but my mass has not changed yet. We will see. good luck to you. -

sandiburn replied to Stargurrl*'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got stuck for the first time on almonds. It felt like an elephant sitting on my chest. I wont be having almonds for a while. -
I have 1 cup in the am, but it does tend to bother m tummy a little. I have to eat with in 1 hr. But that it all worked into my morning. Get up , one cup of coffee, exec\rcise, get ready for work and have a protene shake on my way to work. My coffee gets me going. I dont think i could go with out it.

Hello fellow Bandsters
sandiburn replied to flychica's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can do it. Everyone slips and falls. keep your chin up. Keep a good support system and you will get there. Good luck!!! -
long term w/ the lap band???
sandiburn replied to angieband's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
remember that the band is a tool to help you get from a-z and help keep you there. I also had some of the same questios. I am almost 2 mts into it and I got scared also. My fears went away the more I healed. Keep a good support system and "stay of of your head". Your new life will be totally worth it!!! Good luck. -
I am 2 weeks early this month too. Crazy. Better early than last I guess. hehehe.

no motivation! gained weight!
sandiburn replied to mila86's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So you lost your motivation and slipped up. So what. You have the power to change that. But YOU have to be the one to do it. Remember...... every flower that ever bloomed had to go thru a lot of dirt to get there. Push thru the dirt and become the beautiful flower that you are. Good luck with your journey. -
Baned yesterday now what?
sandiburn replied to Ready to Go's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I almost went there too. Its hard to stay "out of our heads" when things are different. I found a project to keep my spirits up and kept me looking to the future. Make a scrap book of where you were when you started, where you are now and cut out pics from a magazine on where you want to be. It will be a great project to keep you looking forward. Be sure to leave room for your journey. Its fun and gives you a visual goal to refer to anytime you need it. Good luck. -
The Gym and Water giving me grief
sandiburn replied to x96oun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. I was told that if you get heartburn that there could e a problem with the band. Most likely its too tight. Call the Dr. Heartburn is miserable.
