i was sleeved on monday, july 25th and let me just say that i was totally NOT prepared for the pain and discomfort that i have been thru these past 3 days. I knew it wouldn't be easy but I have been having so much discomfort, its awful. I am home now and must say feel better than the first 2 days. I am having trouble drinking water, i try to drink about 5 - 6 little ounce cups of water per day. I have had sugar free frozen popsicles, and also jello. I also tried some of my protein shake today and it went down ok. My discharge papers says I am to be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks. so maybe some of you can help me out on what you had to eat. and also please tell me that it does get better. ive been reading about some kind of drainage thing, what is that? i have more pain on my right side, i think thats the side they took the stomach out of. ive had a c-section before and this is nottthing like that pain at all, totally different. any encouragement that could be given, id really appreciate it. thanks

I feel the exact same way, I just can not relax. I am so anxious to get this over with. I am not nervous just very eager to get it done and over with. The anxious feeling is overwhelming at times, I go in tomorrow morning and I have not had a good nights sleep in two days. I just cant seem to sleep with my racing mind.

thank you everybody for showing me love and support. i deeply appreciate it. i will keeping you all posted. tonight i am so excited from the moving, and the new house, to meeting up with my family again, to having this surgery -- i feel like i am on a scary roller coaster so thrilled. enjoy your night ladies.

i want to thank everybody who commented on this post for sharing their stories, advice, information. It is all very appreciated and gave me alot of different suggestions. Thanks, will keep you all updated.

I am thinking about flying across the country about 12 days after my surgery. My surgeon advises no flying for 8 weeks because of the lack of mobility and the pressure. I do believe him but I am willing to take my chances. I have to get to my children and back home. Are there any of you sleevers out there who traveled after having this??????? What about the people who fly to Mexico for surgery and come back??

I have surgery on this Monday, June 25th. I am extremely and can not wait to get it done and start my new journey. I am also in the middle of moving across the country, my children already left....so i am anxious to get to my babies. i miss them. i have so much anxiety its hard to explain but i am not nervous at all about the surgery. tomorrow (Friday) and then also on Saturday i will be on my 2day liquid diet. wish me luck and please post any tips/advice. thanks

how do i join this firecracker list thing? i was told today that i have to lose about ten more pounds before my surgery date (25th)...hoping i can accomplish that

I finally have my surgery date for a gastric sleeve, it is JULY 25th!. Are there any others out there with the same date? I am worried about losing some weight before hand. Tomorrow I go in for my final nutrionist appointment, so I am going to assume I will be placed on a liquid diet. What kinds of diets have any of you guys been placed on? Also is anyone gettting it done in Westchester Medical? I am soooooooooooooooooo anxious about this. i have so many things going on in my life such as relocating to a new state, and I quit smoking after 10years. so I have alot on my plate. Kerry
