Sorry for my delayed response. I was waiting to see if anybody else jumped in. I will go along with whatever you guys decide.
-
I'm here...and am always willing. So, what's the scoop?
-
Checking in... Where is everyone? I'm on track with my goals for the week (listed above) and had a loss on the scale this morning.
-
Checking in! How are you guys doing??? Working with my dietician, we tried the ketogenic diet over the summer. With a grand loss of four pounds, I let it derail me and went on a four week binge (see prior post). What's the logic there?!? That led to a TEN pound gain. Ugh. I did the liquids-only last week and started back on solids Friday evening. I have my full triggers back and feel like my pouch is back where it should be. I met with my dietician/behavior coach on Friday. We have a plan in place for a well-rounded, low carb menu. No more fads, no more manipulation of my eating. I'm going back to what I know. I'll hover around 800-1000 calories (as recommended by lap band surgeon), 50g net carbs, 20g Fiber, 75g Protein. I have meals planned for today and tomorrow; all logged into my fitness pal. I will exercise, which has been lacking over the summer, four times this week. I'll weigh-in on Thursday and report back here. I meet with the dietician in a month to review results. So, there's my plan for the week. What's yours??

@@2babutterfly - welcome back! As you know, I moved this time last year. I only moved 5 miles, but I don't like change either, so I feel ya! When does school start? What's the plan? I'm dragging myself back with my head hung. After a four week binge, I started all liquids yesterday and will try to do so until Friday's dinner. I am struggling this evening, but just drank a mug of broth and having another Protein shake now. I need to detox from all the junk and this seems to be the best way for me. I didn't even step on a scale, but I know my clothes are way too tight and I feel yucky. Not whining, just explaining for accountability. I'll be posting daily again if I can get some of you to hold me to it.
-
Woo hoo! I can post again! Thank you @@katesuccess for your help with that issue. Roll call!!! How is everyone??
-
trying to delete, i posted in the wrong place. sorry!!
-
I'm with you too. I had to go to weekly and will switch back to monthly if issues come back up again. BTW, I didn't even weigh this morning for fear of discouragement. The scale makes me nuts and it just wasn't worth it today.

My doc and I are thinking 160-165. I feel good, fit comfortably in my size 10s, and can maintain there. I hit a low of 165 a couple years ago and would be tickled to get back to that! Have an awesome time of rest and fun at the cabin!

@@katesuccess thanks for the suggestions! I have spread my carbs out and am sticking close to that 45g -50g per day. I do feel better and was down a whole pound this morning. That's better than the measly half pound from the last few weeks! I also looked back and this is where I always get stuck, the 180s. Hopefully I'm on my way out of that decade now and things will progress a little faster from here. How's everybody??

@@RockinRobin59 - way to bust the plateau! Did you go to strictly liquids for a week? I'm considering it. And thank you for the encouraging words. It means more than you know.
-
BTW, I'm active hiking and kayaking at least on weekends. Our daily walks haven't happened in a couple of months due to a injury of mine.

Okay, peeps, I'm reaching out... While I'm on a streak of clean days and working with the dietician, I'm not feeling it and I'm certainly not seeing the losses that should go along with it. I know myself and I know if I don't get the losses to show pretty quick, I'll slide. I've already thought about it, beginning to justify it. Help! I'm 83 days into LCHF, or ketogenic, eating. @@katesuccess - how's it going? How are those macros working for you? I'm asking because I am SUPER frustrated. My macros: <45g net carbs 60g fat 75g Protein +/-1200 calories I'm at 187, 5'4", and 45 yrs old I've switched to coconut oil, almond milk, nut flours, and swerve sweetener. I'm only down 2 pounds for the month of June. Do you see anything there? FYI-my dietician set my macros, decreasing protein some because she thought I might be converting some to sugar thru gluconeogenesis. I'm frustrated with the SLOW losses. As hard as I'm working to plan, shop, eat, and log food, I should see better results. Better meaning faster. Anybody have words of wisdom for me? I'm thinking I may go back to small portions, eating protein first, and drop all this other stuff. Back to lap band basics, ya know?

@@Leisha249 - Glad you joined us! I'm so sorry for your loss, but glad to read you are beginning to heal. How can we help and encourage you?

@@2babutterfly - would love to hear from you! @@punkinvine - hope you are reaping rewards from your labor in the gardens!

Hi, friends! Slow and steady here. Thursday's are my WI days and I'm down another 2.4. This LCHF thing seems to be the trick for me. I'm hovering around 75g Protein, 65g fat, and around 40g net carbs. Usually that puts me between 1000 and 1100 calories. Thoughts? Opinions? @@RockinRobin59 - a cleanse or a few days of liquids will shake up that plateau. That's what my Bariatric nurse practitioner has me do to help a stall. A high calorie, high carb day will also usually do it for me. Not totally off the charts, but you get my drift. Shake things up and let's see how it helps. @@katesuccess - glad the new eating plan is doing the trick. I remember you sharing that it was something in the neighborhood of 1300 calories a day, right? If you don't mind, share the macros with me. I'm always open to suggestions! @@bacon - Piney Flats? Seriously? I lived in PF until we bought this house last summer. Next time you are THAT CLOSE, let me know!! Glad things are going well on the road, with the exception of missing your family. Man, that's got to be tough. I admire your determination to take care of yourself by eating well and exercising. Keep it up!! Y'all, I'm SO glad to hear from you.

Rocking and rolling here. I am loving this ketogenic diet! With the added fat, I feel more satisfied and have less cravings. I've also found Oh Yeah One bars and they fill me up and are a "safe" treat. Those might help, @@RockinRobin59. One thing I learned through weight watchers years ago was to set a timer for a craving. Give yourself 10-15 minutes and if you still want it, plan it. Just some thoughts... I've rolled so many days together now that I'm feeling in control again. I'm staying active, walking in the evenings and then a major something on Saturdays. Lately, it's been hiking these East Tennessee mountains. What a hard, beautiful workout!! Enough about me...glad to hear from you, @@RockinRobin59 and @@2babutterfly !! Let's make it happen!!

Whoa, look at us go!!! @@2babutterfly glad to hear that a you found a home and that you are climbing your way back on the proverbial wagon. God's into the details and it never ceases to amaze me! Congrats!! @@RockinRobin59 can't wait to hear about that nutrition class, I'm a little jealous. Way to go on hitting the gym 3x per week!! @@katesuccess I need to find some of that ice cream! @@bacon I'm thinking about you and hope you are doing well. I've got meals planned. I'll walk the neighborhood this evening for exercise and get all of my Water. My mom gave me a 30 oz yeti cup for my birthday and it makes drinking my water easy-peasy. Okay, peeps, another day...let's make it happen!!

@@2babutterfly - NO guilt, friend. Life gets tough and things happen. Make your plan and take it a day at a time. Once the plan is made and the pantry is stocked, no excuses. I usually eat a sweet each day too. For me, it works. I eat a quest bar or use your idea and have Greek yogurt with a little homemade granola. I tell you, a high fiber-low carb flat bread, tortilla, or pita with a little pb and sliced bananas can also do wonders for my attitude! I've read about, and bought, some Oh Yeah! One bars. I've heard that the birthday cake bar is fabulous. I'm gonna work them in on my plan this week. I'll let you know. Over halfway through the weekend, on plan and keeping my word. (See previous post if curious.) I'm off to make my plan and grocery list for the week. Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. Look forward to hearing from you all.

Well, I don't know where everybody went... I'm rolling along on this ketogenic diet. I've got a string of days going and love that. If I'm gonna binge, it tends to be on a weekend. To curb that, I've planned every bite for this weekend, arranged to take out the new kayak tomorrow for exercise, and asked my husband to help with accountability. So....I'm telling you guys that I'll be ON PLAN this weekend. Who's with me???
-
My go-to is probably a Quest bar or a P3 with meat, cheese, and nuts. I'm planning at least a day ahead, getting in Water and exercise daily, and tracking macros. I've switched to a more ketogenic diet, lowering Protein a little while increasing fat. I feel more satisfied, but we'll see how the losses go too. Thoughts??
-
Congrats on the huge loss!!! Where's everyone? What's the plan for today? I'm going to eat what's logged, drink my Water, and take a walk later. Simple as that.
-
Good morning and happy Friday!! I've got four well-planned days under my belt and will have another today. I have even planned out the weekend and entered it into Myfitnesspal, so all I have to do is follow it. Setting myself up for success! What's one thing you are doing (or will do) today to set yourself up for a great day? I look forward to hearing them!

@@bacon - glad to hear from you. If/when you need ideas for that crock pot, just shout. Between all of us, we'll come up with a great arsenal for you. Yesterday is in the books. Today is a new day. What are we going to do to be successful today? I'm going to eat according to what I've already planned in Myfitnesspal, I'm going to drink plenty of Water, and I'm going to do some form of exercise (prob walk the hood with my husband). So there it is. How about you guys?

Hi, everyone! Glad to see us posting with tips and encouragement. I'm also thankful to have a place to out (edit - put) it all out there, even the ugly. Thank you for that! Rockinrobin59 - we can string together some strong days, get in a habit and routine of good choices, that always helps! @@bacon - you know as well as I do that your body needs fuel. How about some chicken and taco seasoning in the crockpot? You could even get some salsa & low carb tortillas and make a wrap. Throw in some black Beans for Fiber. I don't know, just trying to help. Good luck in Chicago!! @@punkinvine - thanks for the suggestion. Hope that band adjustment helps with your issue. No fun! Like you, I'm loving the extra movement outdoors since spring has sprung. @@katesuccess - I'm going to stick (edit- stock) back up on Quest bars, forgot all about those. Quest puts out all kinds of low-carb recipes using their products. Gonna check those out for options. I'm also going to get ingredients for the mug cake, that might do it for me. Thank you for sharing. @@2babutterfly - am I gonna have to show up at your door??? Let me hear from you! Let's have a strong day today. One day at a time. Today I'm going to move more, eat as planned, drink plenty of Water, and thank God for my blessings. You guys are a blessing to me. Let's do it!
