@amponder I guess that $10 was your reward for walking, huh? Way to go on the eating and water!! @MarieMarie I'm pondering a fit bit, but am afraid I'd get too competetive and drive myself nuts. Plan for today: Protein shake for Breakfast & lunch, chicken in the crockpot for dinner with brown rice and green Beans, 72 oz Water, exercise video. I'm asking you guys to hold me accountable for the exercise today... Okay, everybody what's your plan for today? How can I help?

@@punkinvine - I'm interested in the quinoa. What brand did you buy? How do you cook it? Thanks for sharing the tips from your Monday night class! I love hearing strategies that others will share! @@HealthyNewMe -Congrats on the exercise and the shopping victory. Like you, I am careful about when I hit the grocery store. I'm tight in the early morning, so I try to go at that time. I get it. I'm so sorry about your mom & m-i-l. I can't imagine. Kudos for thinking of a Protein bar! @@JustWatchMe - is that salsa chicken done in the crockpot? Balmy 27?!? WHEW! I just moved to TN from southern GA and I'm learning about cold weather. Until this move, the 50s were cold for a winter high temp. We hit a low of 1 last week and today's 47 seemed warm after being below freezing for several days. I've eaten OP today and already working on my plan for tomorrow. I fought the snack demon all afternoon. Finally at 3pm, I mixed a protein shake, added a couple scoops of Fiber, and slowly drank it. I logged it into my fitness pal to keep an eye on carbs and protein and I'm right on track. Victory! Exercise is a biggie for me, so I'll need an exercise accountability check tomorrow evening... Thanks so much for posting and joining me on this journey! I look forward to getting to know you and celebrating your victories!

Until I moved in May, I went monthly to weigh and meet with a nurse practitioner. We talked diet, nutrition, and success strategies. I loved it and am trying to find that again. I hope you enjoy that in-person support, you lucky duck!

Today's off to a great start! We just got home from church and the chili is nice and hot in the crock pot. I've got meals planned for the day and will drink all of my Water. I've logged everything into my fitness pal to make sure Protein is high and carbs are low. Sunday is a day of no exercise for me, so no accountability there. I talked to DH and we will start back up on our exercise videos tomorrow. What's your plan for today? How can you make it happen? Talk to me!!

Been there, done that. We moved my mother into assisted living a few months ago. Thankfully, she is happy and enjoying her lack of responsibility. What can you do TODAY for the stress eating? Not tomorrow, just today...Give us one thing you'll do today. Glad you joined us!!

Walking at the mall.. I'm glad you decided to jump in; the more, the merrier! Sounds like you have a plan for today. Check back and let me know how you did. Where's your daughter going? What an opportunity for her and a tough thing for you. I have a daughter who is 10 and I can't imagine. @@HealthyNewMe Walking at the mall...CHECK!

    Wednesday, Jan. 9 Accountability

@HealthyNewMe 6 days a week! Wow! The sugar is what got me over the holidays too. I'm tracking on my fitness pal to watch carbs and sugar. I keep Protein over 100gm a day, which is easy with the Protein shakes. Thank you for holding me accountable for the exercise. No excuses, I didn't do it. However, I am going first thing this morning to walk laps around the mall. It's too cold outside and I need/want to get out of the house, so the mall is where I'm headed. I'll check back in when it's done. I've got food planned for the day and will get all of my Water. What's your plan for staying away from sugar today? Do you plan meals ahead of time? @maryjaja What's your plan for today? Are you exercising? Eating the right foods? How can we help? Oh, ladies, I'm excited! I'm glad we can share our journeys! How should we do our posts? One long topic or daily topic? I know! Let's do a weekly topic and we can post under that. Maybe others will jump on with us. We'll stay here for today and I'll start a new thread/topic tomorrow and we'll use that one for the week. Sound like a plan? I'm going to eat breakfasat and head to the mall. My husband and daughter have decided they want to go walk too! Yeah! Have an awesome day!!

VICTORY!!! I love the empowered feeling. Congrats!
  15. Hi! I'm new to the area and am looking for support and a place to get an adjustment if needed. Not sure where to go or who to see...can't get a response from a local surgeon. I've had my band for years and have been very successful. I'd like to keep it that way! Anybody else out there from this area?

    Wednesday, Jan. 9 Accountability

Day 3 of back on track. Breakfast and lunch were Protein shakes. I mix two scoops of Syntrax Matrix with 16 oz of Water. I make the shakes the night before and let them sit in the refrigerator, they taste better that way. For dinner, I'm grilling a pork tenderloin that I marinated in lime, basil, & garlic. I'll have a side of green Beans and a bite or two of red potato that I grill in a pouch with a little olive oil and seasoning. I've had PLENTY of water today and that's never really a problem. I have a large tervis tumbler and I drink one before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I am not sure what I weigh today. I found myself letting the scale dictate my moods, so I'm using my clothes as a gauge for now. That's actually more incentive for me than the number on the scale. Right now, my dress pants are so tight that they scream when I wear them. I'd guess I am up at least 10 pounds. I learned in support groups over the years to not go a size higher in clothes, so I have not. I'm having to literally stuff myself into my size 10s and 12s, leaving me looking and feeling like a sausage. It's now either lose back to goal or not have anything to wear. I choose to get back to goal. I've got to get back to regular exercise as well. I stopped exercising about two weeks ago and I can tell. Not only does it help with weight loss, but I just feel better in general. Tonight I will do an exercise video. Hold me to it!! Anybody else want to share?

I responded to you on another of your posts and would love to work together. Anybody here and interested in some accountability, check out my topic for Jan. 9 accountability in the veterans forum. I'd like to try something here that REALLY worked for me a while back. Join me!
  18. I have recently moved to the area. I've contacted one lap band surgeon and have gotten no response. I even went by their office, had my records moved to them, and cannot get a returned email or call since. I am looking for a support. I'd like to weigh-in and attend support group meetings (if available). Anybody local out there with advice?

    Set backs and starting over

Sounds like we are in similar boats. I had my band placed in 2012. I weighed 292 and got to 165 about a year ago. Since having the band placed, I went to the bariatric center monthly. I met with a nurse practitioner to discuss strategies and to weigh & check blood pressure. In the last six months, we've made a major move and I no longer have the bariatric center because there isn't one in my new area. Unfortunately, since the move, I have been stress eating and have gained enough that my pants are TIGHT. I don't know the number because I no longer weigh, but use my clothes as a judge of gain/loss. I like to stay in my 10s and 12s. Thanks to the bariatric nurse, I have never bought any bigger clothes, so I've got to get this off or wear pjs in public. I'll choose to get this weight off. My band is in the sweet spot, has been for over a year, and just need to listen to it and control what I put in my mouth. I do Protein (Syntrax Matrix) shakes for Breakfast and lunch and eat a small portioned dinner with my family. It just works better for me and my nurse practitioner agreed since it keeps my protein levels high. What I seek is an accountability partner. I'd like somebody to check in with daily, to hold me accountable, and discuss ideas and strategies. As a veteran bander, I think I have some tips to offer and I'd love to partner with another bander. Interested??
