  1. salty, carby food has been ruling my life for the past couple of days and I have the water retention to prove it. Back on track today.

  2. Thank you! I ended up getting Centrum VitaCraves, which agree with me, but I'm not sure if they're complete enough. I still want to try liquid vitamins.

    2 weeks post and discouraged

Cheer up, Buttercup! 3 lbs lost in a week is normal. I have many weeks of 3 lbs weight loss and I feel like I'm losing at a really solid pace. I usually lose 2-4 lbs per week (some more, some less). It's true that this is an amount of weight that could be lost by dieting, but we didn't get sleeved to accelerate our weight loss (I hope). We got sleeved to help us make the necessary dietary changes to lose weight and keep it off. It's a tool to help us mend our shitty relationships with food. The fact that the weight comes off quickly is a byproduct. As far as the stalls, I think you may be focusing on the negative. Not all stalls last for weeks. The 2nd-3rd week stall that most of us seem to get only lasted a week for me. It was a frustrating week, but I knew it couldn't last forever. If you take a step back and look at things logically, you'll realize that sticking to your plan cannot help but yield results. Calories in/calories out. It's as simple as that. Getting your Protein in will help to preserve your muscle mass. Your muscles are necessary to efficiently burn fat. Restricting your carbs to a reasonable amount will force your body to use your fat stores for energy. Water is like the oil that makes the machine perform at it best. I'm sure you're doing everything that you're supposed to be doing, and I understand how upsetting it can be to do everything right and not have things turn out the way you expected. What's worse is that I'm sure you feel pretty crappy in comparison to the way you felt before surgery. Your energy is down, you don't understand your body anymore, eating and drinking have become a chore, and the whole thing really freaking sucks. Try to focus on the fact that this surgery WORKS. It works if you work your sleeve. You're gonna get there. I promise on my own Little Sleevie Wonder.

    Been Feeling FAT for weeks

Words to live by. Fabienne: Pot bellies (...) on a woman, a pot belly is very sexy. The rest of you is normal. Normal face, normal legs, normal hips, normal ass, but with a big, perfectly round pot belly. If I had one, I'd wear a tee-shirt two sizes too small to accentuate it. Butch: You think guys would find that attractive? Fabienne: I don't give a damn what men find attractive. It's unfortunate what we find pleasing to the touch and pleasing to the eye is seldom the same.

You've done a phenomenal job. Congratulations.

    Is SUSHI HEALTHY?

I'm sure it's probably more carbs that you would normally want, but I had sushi at 6 weeks out and it didn't slow my weight loss or disagree with me. I was only able to eat 1 and a half pieces of a seared ahi roll before I was quite full. I wouldn't make it a habit in the losing stage, but if you have a craving go for it.
  13. I think the poll would have the most value if you knew how long people had been sleeved and what amount of weight has been gained in each of those time frames. Also, maybe incorporate age and gender and eliminate those who have been sleeved less than a certain length of time (6 months or maybe a year). Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think of other ways to modify the poll, so never mind. LOL
  14. I would KILL for a salad these days. I'm a little over 2 months out from surgery and I'm trying to wait until the 4th month to have it, but it's so so hard.

  15. JackieOMonroe

How does this food creation of mine sound?

I miss corn so much, but I was told to stay away from it until about the 4th month when I can start eating regular salad again.

Super Easy - Crustless low-carb quiche

mnbsleeve - I read a few of the comments and it does seem that people left the cottage cheese out when they made their own versions of this recipe. I would say to go ahead and experiment. Since it's basically just eggs and filling, the worst case scenario is that you make a frittata.

    Calling low BMI's

The best advice that I can give you is to follow your plan, especially protein, water, and vitamins, as closely as possible. I didn't and even though my weight loss had been really great so far (46 lbs gone in 2 months!), I started to feel really terrible. I'm getting on plan now and it's already making a difference in the way I feel. Good luck to you!

    shoe size

Also, hooray for women with big feet! I shop for shoes exclusively online. Thank goodness for Zappos!
  19. JackieOMonroe

    shoe size

I'm still in size 12 shoes, but they are obviously loose. I never wore wides to begin with, so I'm hoping my current shoes are only loose from being broken in. There's no way feet as long as mine will comfortably fit into size 11 shoes. LOL
  20. You're a little confused. Just saying...

vitamin deficiency 7months post op! Someone please help!!

Due to disinterest in eating and trouble that I'm having with nausea when taking Vitamins and consuming Protein shakes and bars, I'm pretty positive that I'm suffering from malnutrition and starvation. I'm really worried. I ended up with extreme diarrhea last night and it continues today. I've lost 2 lbs since it started and I can't seem to keep up with replacing the Water that I'm losing. I tried One A Day VitaCraves yesterday for the first time and I finally didn't get extremely nauseous. I don't think they're complete enough for the long term, but they're good enough for now so I'm happy that I found them. I'm just really scared. I had a hard time even moving from my bedroom to the living room today. I don't like feeling this way. I'll be calling my doctor tomorrow to work on this, but I'm just so afraid right now.
  23. Hi! Are you the nice brunette lady that I met when we had surgery? With a husband who had a ponytail?

    Can you eat sushi?

I just went out for sushi last week with my husband. I was only able to eat 1 and a half pieces from the roll that I ordered, but it didn't get stuck or make me feel bad or anything. I just chew chew chewed until i felt safe to go ahead and swallow and it was fine. I ate another piece that night, picked apart another two pieces the next morning and threw the rest out. I had surgery 2 months ago tomorrow.

So tell me: What about YOU makes you feel SEXY?

I feel sexiest when I'm singing. I can see the changes that come over people's faces when I'm performing and it's really cool.
