    Anyone Not Losing Their Hair?

I think I got lucky then. My protein intake sucked because I couldn't tolerate supplements and I couldn't eat enough food to get my numbers up to where they should be. If I'd known my protein intake could have caused me to lose my hair, I might have started grazing throughout the day or something. lol

    Lactose Intolerance And Protein Shakes

I probably won't be much help, but I wish you luck. Have you tried getting Protein from food? I'm not sure where you are on your eating plan, but if you can handle softs it's not a bad idea to start there. I was in the same predicament and I spent a ton of money on different Protein drinks and bars and every single thing made me very sick. Eventually, I just ate as much greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, and eventually tuna as I could. I also blended Peanut Butter, almond milk, and banana together to make my own Protein Drink that I could handle. I didn't get in the amount of protein that I was supposed to, but I did the best I could considering how little the sleeve allows you to eat. By the way, if you like sardines (and I know most people don't) they have a ton of protein and are super small so they don't take up much space. Here's a link that might help. http://www.howmuchprotein.com/foods/

    Incision Site Pain

Mine all hurt, but the worst was the largest one that they pulled my tummy through.
  7. GOAL!!! Officially 150 lbs today. Called 30 minutes ago and scheduled my husband's surgery. In 3 weeks, he'll start his sleeve journey and I'm so happy for him.

Tagine- The Most Perfect Meal For Gastric Sleevers!

Would it be possible to make these dishes in my dutch oven? I use it for everything and it sounds like it wouldn't be too dissimilar to a tagine.

These are good ideas. That helps me with my situation too. Thank you!

    Unable To Exercise O:(

For various reasons that I won't get into (some are valid health reasons and some are excuses), I have done absolutely no exercise of any kind since my surgery. Nothing. None at all. I'm not sure if it hurt my weight loss a lot, but as of today I've lost 76.8 lbs and my goal is to lose 77 lbs. So will lack of exercise kill your weight loss? I doubt it. The thing is I now have no muscle tone, I've lost some muscle, and I feel crappy. I've tried to manage by eating well and I've done a pretty good job with that. The activity is just so important, though. You don't have to train for a marathon. Walking is enough. I felt better before my surgery when I was more active than I do now after 6 months of being a couch potato. It would be a shame for you to get the body you want, but have no energy to go do anything with it.
  12. Dang this sleeve! I want a cupcake so badly, but I have no room after all of the broccoli I just ate. :/ It's a good thing, but still... cupcake!

  15. 150.2 lbs today. Did I mention my goal is 150 lbs? I FEEL LIKE SUCH A SUCCESS!!! My celebratory lunch is steamed broccoli with a little olive oil, a lot of parmesan, and a bit of crushed red pepper flakes.

  16. Aaaaand I just learned that banana is a slider for me.

The Cons Of Gastric Sleeve Life! :-(

The biggest con for me is the ridiculous acid reflux that I have now. It doesn't burn or hurt at all, it just makes my throat gurgle like a frog. It's loud and involuntary and embarrassing. This week, I've started keeping an incredibly detailed food log and I ordered some digestive enzymes to take with meals. I did lots of research about which foods to eat and avoid and I plan to make an appointment with an ENT. I'm determined to figure out how to make it stop. Other than that, the only cons are things I expected like loose skin, head hunger, and shrinking out of clothes I just bought.

    5% of 1%?

I knew there had to be more of us around here somewhere! I'm an agnostic and my husband is an agnostic atheist. I'm pretty upfront about it because there's no reason that I shouldn't be able to be.

    Ppi Users?

The surgery gave me MAJOR acid issues. I take pantoprazole and ranitidine in the morning, and another ranitidine at night. My doctor actually advised me to take both twice per day, but most of the time I don't need the second pantoprazole.

    Omg Ate A Whole Egg

I was the same way, but I had a really tough recovery. I think I had such a hard time with food because of a small sleeve combined with extensive, prolonged swelling. I ended up spending 4 days in the hospital 2 weeks after my surgery because I couldn't even get liquids down.
  22. I take so many vitamins and whatnot in the morning, I have to wait before I can fit breakfast in my sleeve. LOL

  23. Can someone tell me how to sleeve my brain to match my stomach? I can't get away from junk! My broccoli just doesn't sound as good as my chips.
