How long will I need help?

I was in a lot of pain and was sent home with non-narcotic pain meds so basically I just hurt all the time. I'm a giant crybaby when it comes to pain, and I was weak from lack of food and lack of fluids, so I really needed my husband to help me for the first week.
  2. Does anyone have a link to a news story about this? Every search I do sends me to other message boards, but no one seems to have a link.
  3. I've tried to open chat in Safari and in Firefox and it just takes me to a white screen. Nothing appears to be happening. I've turned off my pop-up blockers in both browsers, so that can't be the issue. I've deleted my Cookies and tried reopening both browsers and nothing. I'm not sure what the problem is. Does the site hate my Macbook? I've never tried to use chat before tonight. Can anyone help? Another odd thing I noticed was that there are no ads for the site in my Safari browser. I didn't even know there were ads until I navigated to the site in Firefox a few minutes ago.

Carnie Wilson made the news today

It's a story from Daily Fail. No wonder it's tacky.
  8. You're on cream soups now? That's great! It sounds like you're having a smooth recovery. :)

  9. I live in San Diego so it's a little far, but I'd love to try to make a meeting. Please add me to the invites list. Do you need my email address or anything?

    First meal....

Eating was every bit that slow for me and I was sleeved only 2 days before you were. It's better for me now, but I'm still very limited in what I can tolerate: yogurt, cream of wheat, cottage cheese, and sometimes scrambled eggs or mashed potatoes. Two or three days ago, I felt like I was back at square 1 because not even yogurt went down easily and yesterday I had a really hard time with it as well. So far today, I've only managed a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese and a tiny bit of gatorade. It hurts for some reason after a couple of sips. The gurgling has lessened for me, but it's still very much there. I can look back on my progress though and I know that things have improved, so I believe that they will only continue to get better. Don't give up! It isn'

    Self Pay for VSG

I paid $7500 and my surgeon was Dr. Ortiz with OCC.

    Mushy Foods

My doctor requires at least two weeks and then you can start integrating regular food as tolerated. I'm probably going to do at least three weeks of mushies. I'm afraid of solids.

How to get rid of nausea?!?!?!

I have Zofran too and I love it. Mine are the regular tablets that you take with a sip of water (they're tiny), not the sublingual ones.

    June Sleevers Master List

I was informed by Alex that the ability to edit posts doesn't last forever, so I have to copy/paste to update the list now. If you would like, I can put this into an entirely new post to make things easier.

cool. I'll have to try this when I'm a bit further out.
  20. That's not news anyone wants to hear once they've settled on a competent surgeon who they trust, but if he's being forced into retirement (and it sounds like that's a possibility) or if he's having major personal issues that might cause him to be distracted at work (another possibility) then maybe this is for the best. Luckily there is time for you to research and select another surgeon without the need to feel rushed. I don't really believe in signs and signals, I think we make our own fate. I wouldn't let this bump in the road derail you from going through with the decision you've already made for yourself. You've made plans to change your life. You felt that those plans were for the betterment of your health and happiness, why should that change? Don't hang your future on the decisions made by someone else. If you really feel that you can make yourself healthy and happy and stay that way without using surgery as a tool, then by all means don't have the surgery! If you've exhausted all of your other options and you honestly feel that bariatric surgery is the only way to equip yourself with the tools you need to change your life, you owe it to yourself to go for it. I know that you weren't soliciting advice in this situation, so I hope that I haven't offended you by offering my opinion. Good luck.
  21. I cut the sweetness of my protein shakes with my favorite unsweetened almond milk and the shakes still make me nauseous. I think I just can't handle the shakes. I'll have to get my protein in through mushy foods.

    Scared! At ER :(

Whoops! Replying too late. Hope you're feeling alright!
  23. JackieOMonroe

    Those that don't do shakes...

You were told you need 70 grams of protein per day? I was told I needed 50-60. I wonder why there's a difference.
  24. Provided I don't get bloated later, it looks like I can add cottage cheese to my list of safe foods! Huzzah!

    Bonnarooooooo

Haha I don't know if my brain, my body, or my bank account could handle another festival like Coachella so soon after Coachella. I party so hard during Coachella weekend and it costs so much... I really do wanna go to Bonnaroo at least once though.
