    I want a scrambled egg!

I started eating scrambled eggs in week 4. They were odd for me at first, but now they're fine.
  2. Happy Pride, San Diegans! My husband is having a BBQ today, but I'll be out later to party and show my support. <3 you!

    Could it be gout?

It appears that I am gout free. No foot pain today. I'm so relieved!

    Could it be gout?

I've been having some similar pain in the top of my right foot today. It feels like I broke a bone in my foot. It was worse when I first got up and walked on it. My hubby thinks it might be gout and offered me some of his gout meds, but I declined. I hope it's just pain from the heels that I was wearing yesterday and that it feels better tomorrow.
  5. The leak test is just a barium swallow. It's a little gross, but not painful in the least and it takes 5 minutes. You swallow the barium and they watch it move through your esophagus, tummy, etc. Then they have you do it again, they watch again, and that's it.

    *NEW* June Sleevers Master List

Reminder - This is the current list.
  7. I've been dying for a burger, so I ate almost half of a Morningstar Farms veggie patty with american cheese melted on top. I think I overate, plus under-chewed and it is trying to come back to haunt me. Super sad-face. Lesson learned.

    hair blues :(

This is my biggest fear. I have a few wigs already because I think that they're fun, but I don't know how I would feel if I thought that I HAD to wear them. The last time I lost so much weight so rapidly (on Optifast), one of my employees asked me very seriously if I had cancer. I didn't even lose any hair that time! I can only imagine how much my office would worry if I started losing my hair in addition to rapidly losing weight.
  9. I ate in a social setting today! I only ate 3-4 total spoonfuls of food and my friends noticed, but I still did it. :)

  10. I'm sorry to be this person, especially in such a helpful post, but I think you mean "phlegming" not "fleming".

Haha awww, I hope you make it through the antibiotics quickly.

    Can we swallow capsules??

This is only slightly related to the post, but I have a tiny bump on one of my incisions that looks kind of like a pimple, only without the pimply stuff inside of it. It's been itching, so today I decided to give it a closer look. I noticed that it felt like something scratchy was barely poking out of it, but it didn't look like anything was sticking out. I used a pair of tweezers on it to pull at the invisible scratchy thing and it turned out to be a piece of clear, unabsorbed stitch! No more itching. I'm glad that it's gone because it's been causing that incision to heal more poorly than the rest. That scar is visibly raised while the others are much more flat. I started with Scar Away Patches today to hopefully get them to fade a bit. /CSB Oh, and to answer the question about capsules... my doctor had me take them apart for the first two weeks and mix the insides in a little applesauce or yogurt. Now I can swallow them just fine so I swallow them.
  13. You guys on VST are so welcoming and nice. I feel really supported here and I appreciate it.

    Calorie vs carb

I lose better when I count calories. Counting carbs never did me any good at all. Right now I don't count anything because I can barely eat anything. I do try to make protein the bulk of my food (cottage cheese, greek yogurt, eggs), but I eat cream of wheat and mashed potatoes too. It doesn't seem to be negatively impacting my weight loss. I bought bananas last night to try when they ripen enough. I'm planning to avoid bread, pasta, and tortillas for as long as possible simply because I've never had any self control with those foods. Same with peanut butter. Peanut butter is my kryptonite.

    Thoughts on Surgery Today

I wish you the very best and a speedy recovery. See you on the other side!
  17. Are you having any luck with your insurance company approving the sleeve? My husband has the same issue. BCBS won't cover him for a sleeve because his BMI isn't over 50.

    Lactose Intolerance

I've found Lactaid cottage cheese here in San Diego. I don't shop at Ralph's so it was either at Albertson's on Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa, Sprouts in El Cajon, Henry's in La Mesa, or Von's in Rancho San Diego.

You got it. Happy belated birthday! I had my surgery the day before my birthday.

    Ibuprofen

I called my doctor and he prescribed vicodin. I should be fine now.
  22. I hated life right after surgery and I still hate life on any given day, but I know that I made the right decision for myself. Try reading this thread and this one for stories from sleevers who had a hard time, but are happy now.
  23. I feel like I smell weird since I've had surgery. My husband says that I smell just fine, but I constantly feel like I need a shower. I hope this goes away soon.

    Ibuprofen

I took Advil last night and my doctor prescribed me Tramadol for pain, so now I'm having a mini-heart attack. Have I done serious damage to myself? I'm calling my doctor now. Edit: Actually I looked and Tramadol is a non-narcotic pain med, but not an NSAID so it shouldn't hurt me. I am having an allergic reaction to it though, so I'm trying to get it switched out to something else. I'm waiting on a call back from my doctor's office. I didn't know that I wouldn't be able to take Advil anymore. It's my go-to pain reliever.
