Doctor never heard of the Sleeve

None of the doctors that I've seen since the surgery have heard of it.

    Broken hearted

Thanks Terry. We're just pretty sad right now, but I know we'll figure it out.

    Regrets????

By October the way that you feel now will be a vague memory. You'll have a better idea of what your sleeve likes and doesn't like by then, and it will probably like a lot of things. You'll be able to have wine and I'm sure that a sip or two of champagne during wedding toasts won't be a problem. Just take it slowly and try things a little bit at a time. I'm 6 weeks out and I'm just beginning to eat more normally. I still stick to soft foods, but that's because I like them. I've had a bite of cake and it settled just fine. Don't be discouraged. Your sleeve is just new and it completely sucks when it's new. I don't have advice to help you through this because I felt the very same way after my surgery. All I can say is try to suck it up and trust that all of these people who are happy now know what they're talking about. There is still regret for me sometimes, but it's almost 100% gone. Now I just want to concentrate on putting my proteins first, but learning how to eat normally again. Living on eggs, tuna, and cottage cheese is getting old. LOL If it makes you feel better, here's everything that I've tried and tolerated so far. I've only had a bite or two of most of that stuff, but at least I know I can eat it. yogurt cottage cheese regular cheese eggs toast fresh cherries bananas potatoes sweet potatoes cake tuna salmon wine peanut butter cream of wheat applesauce skinless apple slices beans (baked and refried) veggie broth tomato soup Gatorade G2 popsicles green beans

  10. Here's a page with a ton of different tuna patties recipes. Just pick your favorite! http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipes.asp?food=tuna+patties&a=

  11. Sure! Here's the link: http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?recipe=285086

I made them without the parmesan cheese, flaxmeal, or onion powder. I used pepper and a tablespoon of panko (which probably wasn't necessary).

    menopause

Hi! I'm not exactly menopausal, but due to defective ovaries I've never had a period. Doctors call it primary amenorrhea rather than the more common secondary amenorrhea. It doesn't seem to have any effect at all on my weight loss.

    18 Months Out... Getting Tricky!

Never fear! You caught it early and it seems like you have your game face on to keep the weight off. My suggestion to you would be to stop munching throughout the day. Plan your mealtimes and stick to the plan. Sure you're snacking on good stuff, but nuts are very high calorie, cheese adds up quickly, and berries are much higher in calories if they're dried. Other than that, it sounds like you're doing well. Good luck!

    anxiety

Hey jayzer, I know that making the decision to have 85% of your stomach removed isn't one that any person should take lightly. I see that you've decided to go ahead with sleeve surgery, but I can also see that you still have a lot of concerns. For your own peace of mind, you might try writing out all of the concerns and doubts that you have and that your loved ones have, then address each individual item one by one. It might help to ease your mind a little if you can organize your thoughts about what you're preparing to go through. Good luck to you.

    Worried about my drain...

I'm jealous that so many of you had no pain. It hurt when mine was removed, but it wasn't so bad that I couldn't handle it. Mostly it was just a really bizarre feeling. Right after is was removed, my abdomen felt so empty and hollow. That was strange. It was so nice to have it gone though.
  23. I spend a lot of time thinking about food. It's killing me.

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't worry! The hospital will keep you until you can drink on your own. In a few days, you'll feel right as rain.

    Feeling Lethargic

I feel like that often and the only thing that helps me is to eat more. When I eat more food (especially protein) one day, I feel better for a bit longer the next day.
