Thank you for posting this! I have not been banded yet, but I thought the same thing! I had my seminar last night and one of the things the Dr. addressed to my questions, was that after the initial surgery the band is relatively loose. He said they do that because of all the swelling around it..and over the next 2 to 4 weeks as they fill the band and let thing adjust and settle you will begin to feel the restriction. So glad I went to that seminar! All the best on your journey!! -

Went to my seminar last night and it went great! I already knew what I wanted..I scheduled my 1st surgeons appt..hopefully things will continue to go smoothly! =) thanks again for asking!

Definitely can relate.. I realized I had to do something about this weight when I looked up one day and I was eating because I depressed about eating. What kind of sense does that make?? LoL! I have had so many "not hungry" eating moments.. and those are no fun. Thank you so much for sharing and being so candid! All the best on your journey! -

Seminar tomorrow night!! Yay!! It feels like I've been waiting forever..but I guess that's just the excitement! Had to take steps to start the process of removing negative energy from my life today. =( Sad and a little hurtful..but necessary. I need to be focused..and if I'm going to be distracted by anything, it's going to be good things! Hope everyone is well! =)

Wow..so far this has been so informative! I'm grateful to everyone for their candor..even if it was a bad experience. I've done my research and I know what I'm getting into, risks, numbers, potentials.. but it's always good to hear the voices of experience! Thank you all for sharing so freely! That's amazing! And that you pretty much did it on your own is even more impressive. I've gone hard for a year at the gym, 6 days a week and not had the kind of results I've been seeing people on this site have with the band. I am very much looking forward to getting banded! I am sorry for all your misfortune during your banding period. I don' t know that I'll have that same regret with regards to giving diet and exercise one last shot, because I have literally been dieting since I was 18.. I'm ready for a lifestyle change. I hope for all the best as you continue on! I hope things get or have gotten much better! Thank you for sharing! -
Ok the circle is officially closed!! I told my other bff and she was so great about it! Told me she would work out w/me and even be my support in my weak moments! I am officially ready to get this ball rolling! My seminar is 1 day away and then it's SO on!! Hope everyone has a fabulous day! =D

Thank you all for your input!! Hopefully, the only regret I'll have is not doing it sooner, as well!! I'm so excited and sure that this is what I want..and I'm ready to be on the other side of my journey! Hungrybetty..thank you for your candor. This is a very serious decision and shouldn't be made haphazardly.. I'm sorry it may not have been the best choice for you. The concerns you have are very real and legit, but I do wish nothing but the best for your journey! -
Hello Everyone! I posted a comment on my page about how happy I've been and how much it's starting to get on people's nerves.. all the more because most of them don't know why I'm happy. One of the lovely young women on here commented on my status and said (and I'm paraphrasing here) how her friends get jealous and tell her she's losing too much weight.. too skinny, etc. I have not been banded just yet, but I found this interesting because I've been receiving so much support, I haven't thought about anyone being (or possibly being) jealous of me. I was just curious as to some of the things you guys and gals have encountered, after having been banded, where people are jealous of you or have tried to discourage you? Some of the best ways you deal w/it? ..especially if it comes from family/friends.. I'm very close to mine and I don't know what I would do if they were jealous of me or tried to discourage me from going after this. Any thoughts?
