I Definitely Regret Surgery.... So Far!

My 24Th Day Just Ate Macaronni And Felt So Faint And Sweaty
longer-life replied to hamanyq8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan allowed those things after day 22 but my sleeve was not ready, just like yours is probably not ready for Pasta & chips. I stuck to Protein shakes for all my protein since I don't like yogurt or cottage cheese and I attempted to sample things like 1/2 ounce of grated cheese, 1/2 egg made into egg salad, ham salad etc for the fun of it. When my sleeve was ready then I ate more real foods and less protein shakes. Now I drink a few shakes a week out of convenience but not because I have to. I hope this helps. -
My 24Th Day Just Ate Macaronni And Felt So Faint And Sweaty
longer-life replied to hamanyq8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my plan, yogurt, milk, Protein shakes, cottage cheese, cheese, flaky fish, dark meat poultry, and any protein (chicken, pork etc) mixed with low fat mayo such as egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, salmon salad etc. On my 25th day I wasn't ready for most of those foods yet, so I continued on full liquids and sampled foods (a bite or two) for flavor and fun, but not nutrition. Consider logging your foods. Many of us use myfitnesspal.com Best wishes! -
I Definitely Regret Surgery.... So Far!
longer-life replied to jasleeve's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The first things that popped in my head is the lactose, potentially high sugar levels and the temperature (super cold) on those smoothies. I know you are hungry, but that would not have been my first choice for a new healthy sleeve, much less for your sleeve. Could you try it homemade with lactose free products, Splenda and at room temperature? -
I Am Not A Good Cook - Any Ideas Regarding What On Restaurant Foods That Will Work Well With The Plan
longer-life replied to janerose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Edited to say, today I cooked the ground beef fully and THEN put it in the blender. It turned out great. No need to put it back into the pan. Two steps instead of 3. -
I like your perseverance! Best wishes! Keep us updated.

LOL! I love the "working on me stuff" too. I plan on getting acrylic nails & keratin hair treatment in the next few months. I bought shapewear recently. Good luck with the Invisalign. -

Uxgrl & Isereno, I also have a form of arthritis. Humira and Simponi injections work WONDERFUL!!!! Way better than any pill I have tried before. If you are not afraid of injections and have insurance (each injection cost a few thousand dollars), it's worth looking into it and talking to your doctors about it. FYI: Both have easy self injectable syringes, but I can't do it, so I go to my primary doctor every month. Totally worth it! Humira is twice a month but the injection hurt like hell (to me), so I switched to once a month Simponi. No pain. I even wrote an email to my old rheumatologist (I moved) to thank her for changing my life! :focus:

Unflavored Protein Powder
longer-life replied to TheRealMeIsHere!'s topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I drink it out of a shaker bottle with a small spout and I can't smell it. Exhaling as you drink will help too. @Clk- Integrated supplements sounds great. Can't imagine being able to add Protein to tea and not even know its there. Where do you buy yours? I found it online, but I prefer to buy at GNC where I can return it if I don't like the taste, but I don't think they carry it. -
Help! 3 Month Post Op :)
longer-life replied to Avi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also eat more than Avi and my NUT is ok with it. You are both probably doing just fine and so is Avi. I work hard at meeting my Protein goals and I get very close, but I miss the mark on most days. I not only drink my 8 ounce protein shake BUT I am hungry soon after! LOL It happens to some of us. No big deal in my opinion. chicken and other dense protein is what keeps me full for longer. Actually Avi, if you ate more, you would probably lose more and if I exercised more, I would lose more, but we can only do the best we can. :smile1: -
Thanks for this! It had not crossed my mind. :smile1:

I Am Not A Good Cook - Any Ideas Regarding What On Restaurant Foods That Will Work Well With The Plan
longer-life replied to janerose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
janerose, Caprese salad is probably another good choice. Fresh Mozzarella, tomato slices, fresh or dried basil, a tiny bit of olive oil , balsamic vinegar, cracked black pepper. If you buy the bocconcinis (little round mozzarella balls sold floating in water) and grape tomatoes, there is no cutting involved. The baked frozen meatballs , mentioned earlier, warmed up on some Pasta sauce and grated cheese on top works great too. Hope all is going well. -

That was the case for me as well until I started following someones advice on this website. I now brown my seasoned ground beef and then put it in a blender. Then it goes back in the pan to fully cook and/or I add a sauce of some kind. The meat gets a "Taco Bells" consistency. Works like a charm! -
Unflavored Protein Powder
longer-life replied to TheRealMeIsHere!'s topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
A few of us here have found success shaking unflavored Protein with orange juice. I add one packet of Splenda to it. I am ok with unjury unflavored, but I never had any other brand, so I can't compare. You mentioned you don't like milk, but I will throw this out there anyway. You never know. For variety I sometimes shake 4 ounces of milk, Splenda, vanilla & Unjury. I then add 4 ounces of orange juice. -
These are not recipes per say, but I buy baked frozen meatballs (Rosina Italian Style) and heat them up with my favorite tomato Pasta sauce & grated cheese on top. You can make some pasta if you have to make dinner for someone else. - Caprese salad-(slice(s) of fresh mozzarella, slice(s) of tomato, fresh or dried basil, balsamic vinegar, a tiny bit of olive oil, ground black pepper. -I haven't made this yet, but I plan on googling some easy crockpot recipe that includes chicken tenderloin & a jar of pasta sauce or red pepper sauce or cacciatore sauce...you get the picture.

6 Weeks Post-Op And Regretting The Surgery
longer-life replied to ocean_ophelia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The nurse at my surgeons office told me that amount of calories is not enough and I would get into a vicious cycle. I am sorry you don't have the proper after care. This issue would have probably been solved with the help of a team of professionals. If I was you, my first priority would be to get hold of the nausea suppositories so you can eat more. Research if any exist OTC if you can't afford prescription. Meanwhile try to sip on room temperature or warm full calorie Gatorade. I'm not a doctor of course . I'm worried about you. This is no way to live. -
What Do You Guys Think About Nectar Protein Shakes?
longer-life replied to Liliana Arleen's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Yesterday at costco I realized the Premier premade drinks everyone raves about are not lactose free :banghead: and my unflavored unjury is running out, so I will check if Nektar is Isolate whey. Thanks Liliana and everyone else! Just went to their website and they have free shipping on the variety pack. The price is $13.00 and they are lactose free! yeah! http://www.si03.com/reg_index.htm -
Good for you for pretending you didn't see them! They are so childish. Yuck. I also can't stand women like that. Eeew! Congratulations on your weightloss! Great NSV.
