Heating Blankets Recommendations Please
longer-life replied to longer-life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Lisa- I love the idea of a throw so I can " toss it on the floor in the middle of the night!" @Bedhead-Thanks for reminding me I have my daughters old twin down comforter in a closet somewhere! That might not solve the "cold sheets" issue though. Nevertheless I will give it a shot tonight. Keep those ideas coming please! -
Great NSVs! I had one yesterday. My sister in law who is also a masseuse kept commenting how much thinner I am while giving me a massage! Any other masseuse would have freaked me out but since she is family, it was music to my ears!

Holy Cow My Loss Has Really Sloooooowed!
longer-life replied to Rainydayz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you are without realizing it. I'm no expert but drinking more Water and increasing your calories with healthy foods will probably get you the results you want. It's hard knowing how many calories to increase when exercising vigorously. Perhaps LilMissDiva and others can help you with that balance. Good luck and please update us. -
Are You Full Yet?
longer-life replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My situation is not quite the same but i will tell you hoping it will help some. I was a volume eater but after mountains of food I would get to the point of being overly full & unbottoning my pants. After surgery I had to sip all day long or I would be hungry. Dense Protein solved that. My hunger never went away but very little food gets rid of it. Mini meals work great for me. Have you researched or asked a professional about never feeling full? -
Soooooo glad to read this. A big hug to you!!!!

Oh gosh, could I be one of "those people"? I can see how my personality can come across that way. I am afraid to ask, but I would rather know the truth.

Little Desire To Eat
longer-life replied to TheRealMeIsHere!'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having trouble understanding why your nutritionist is rushing you. Your sleeve does not seem ready to move forward, so I think it's great you are sticking mostly to shakes. That's what I had to do and many others on this website as well. We don't all heal at the same rate. I'm not sure about the back pain. -
Or dead! Sorry to be so dramatic, but it has happened and you need to know that. On a more practical note, don't just keep Water around at work, keep Protein shakes and creamy strained Soups in a drinkable container so you can be full all day. Sip constantly! Perhaps every time you ring up an order? Good luck. I hope you are completely honest with your surgeon and he/she can recommend a therapist. Hang in there.

I Have Told Everyone I Know? Am I In The Minority?
longer-life replied to sabrina140's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are not in the minority. I have told most people I know. Just like Lyndynojo, thanks to someones honesty, I heard about the sleeve for the first time ever, so I want others to know about it too. -
I have only had them at restaurants. They sprinkle some kind of seasoned salt on top of the pods, so when you put it your mouth to retrieve the edamame you get the yummy salty flavor. Thanks for bringing it up, I will try them at home. Just found this recipe. It sounds great. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/crispy-edamame/

For Those Who Are Blessed With No Hunger
longer-life replied to carbgrl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It will definitely change when you start solid foods. You won't stretch your sleeve. I don't think you can, even if you wanted to. At your stage there were days that I would sip all day long and I was still hungry. A homemade, well seasoned & strained beef Soup hit the spot. It was incredibly satisfying. Now, many mini meals work great. I hope this helps! -

Hunger Coming Back?
longer-life replied to BettyBoop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never lost my hunger. Not all of us do. It's ok though. Very little food will satisfy your hunger as long as you feed it properly. :-) -
For Those Who Are Blessed With No Hunger
longer-life replied to carbgrl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I never lost my hunger and I am ok with that. I no longer fear hunger because very little satisfies me. Just like a thin person! I used to a be a volume eater, so this is unbelievably great to me. This surgery is doing for me exactly what I wanted it to do. At your stage I would sip full and Clear liquids ALL DAY LONG and consume between 500- 735 calories. That is more than many and I still lost 19.5 pounds that month. I just went to my 3 month check up and my surgeon and staff are very happy with my progress. If you feed your sleeve according to your surgeons plan, you will do great. There is no need to be hungry anymore. -

Did Your Shoe Size Change After?
longer-life replied to Tana_Q's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I noticed a difference on my second month. I started wearing the shoes that were uncomfortable. In fact, those are the most comfortable now and I just started my third month. I'm an 8.5 now, not a 9 anymore. I suspect I will end up being an 8. Hope this helps. -

If You Had Sleep Apnea...
longer-life replied to LoserMama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I forgot my primary doc mentioned this. Do you know the difference in regards to what they measure? The sleep study is supposedly "more complete" according to the pulmonologist, but if the thingy on my finger at home is good enough, I won't do a sleep study.
