    I was told at the hospital to drink warm drinks first thing in the morning. I still start my day with tea at 3 wks out. I was purposely not given ice chips. Cold drinks still hurt. So I say, try them both and whatever hurts less, so you can consume more, go for it. OR ask your surgeon, of course. I hope you feel better!

    It is a natural reaction for women to want to take care of everyone first but I am sick of it. I am only 3 wks out and I WANT to take care of myself! If I don't, I will be dead. My husband and daughter are doing just fine. It is us that put a lot of pressure on ourselves. I'm important too. This is my time. I don't want to be the old me EVER! I hope you feel better and figure out a good balance.

    I could have written your post MsKelly. This is why I tell people that love me and I don't get upset by their different responses. They are being honest and I appreciate that.     Well I am only 3 wks out and already they are geographically lost AND they are getting longer by the day. However, thanks to a breast reduction years ago , they can only elongate so much. I will take the socks if I lose the obesity. :-)

    The Oh Yeah ready to drink bottles are good too. Like the previous poster, I also like Lean Body on the go. I actually like to have both, ready to drink and a powder. Variety is key for me. Best wishes!

    On the practical side consider eating it and then giving the rest away. Your boyfriend can take it to the office, or you can buy it by the slice (personal size)etc. The point is you will save yourself a lot of grief if it is out of the house or in the trash with some nasty stuff on top of it. :-)

    ((raising hands)). I had to have gallbladder surgery after losing 50 pounds on Weight Watchers. I had one horrendous attack and out it went in 3 days. I have never missed it. Hope all of you feel better!!

    Aren't protein shots a "lower" form of protein or something like that? I seem to remember reading here they are not recommended. Worth checking it out.

    One more thing. I believe a "multiple prong approach" is what's going to get her the answer and in my opinion a therapist should be one of those components. We can be with someone for extended periods of time, but not 24 hours. She stops losing at around 30 pounds every time and that is something worth looking into physically and mentally. I wish you and your mom the best. Please keep us updated !!
