  1. I was banded on August 22nd and everything has been going great. I had very little gas issues; but, I started walking, using Gas X, and a heating pad as soon as I got home. However, two weeks later I have sharp pain in my left shoulder and the left side of my neck. The pain is definitely worse in my neck. In addition, I have been losing steadily until the day before yesterday when I gained a pound back. I talked to the Dr's office today and she said cut some of my calories out, but I am only getting about 800/cal a day and I walk about 1.5 miles a day. I am getting all of my Protein and Water. Is this all normal or am I doing something wrong?

  2. Glad you are here. I am a newbie to the band too and I am kind of just winging it . I have not had a fill yet; however, my doctor has me at the mushie stage and I am not able to eat much at all. Getting all of my Water and Protein is a chore, but I am sticking with it. Good Luck!

  3. Thanks for the replies. I had clear liquids the day after surgery and full liquids the rest of the first week and then mushies starting on day 8. I have lost steadily until today and I have gained a pound. At this point, I don't know what is going on. Just gonna tough it out though. :)

  4. I was banded on August 22nd and have been progressing very well. However, since I have been on mushies I can not eat but a few bites and I get a very full feeling like I have ate a four course meal. It seems like the food just gets to my stomach and sits. I know the goal of lap band, but I did not think I would feel so tight without a fill. I have been losing weight steady and have had no other real issues. Is this normal?

  5. I was banded by Dr. Gonzalez on August 22nd. I am very impressed with his professionalism and compassion. He answered every question I had and worked with me on any issues that arose during the pre-surgery process. Renee and Martha that work in the office are excellent. I would definitely recommend Dr. Gonzalez to anyone wanting the lap band. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. Good Luck!
