Scared Myself With Websites
jailynn replied to dadici's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did the same thing....I work at a hospital and the RNs I work with told me, "For God's sake stay off the internet"....you will find positive and negative for all things, whether you're looking to buy a used car or having surgery. Just listen to your doctor....BUT in my opinion, it's going to be awesome...just wait and see. -
I'd be interested in this topic also...I'm 13 months post-op...and 12 lbs under goal. I'm not trying to lose anymore weight but it's still coming off....I eat a tiny bit and I'm full.. So... Can our sleeves shrink??

Are you still in the liquid phase with all the protein shakes and such? This happened to me also and will subside when your diet gets a bit more normal. I kept gum and mints on hand.

Did Weight Loss Change Your Marriage?
jailynn replied to Parker77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only thing I struggled with was experiencing severe PMS symptoms..explained by a PA that when women lose a bunch of weight rapidly we also burn estrogen and it caused me ( and my husband) extreme difficulty. I had to get a prescription for Wellbutrin but only had to take it for a few months before things started to level off. I was miserable as I was MAD MAD MAD all the time...I don't know how my husband put up with me. So..if you experience something similiar, just keep this in mind. -

jailynn replied to jessfharris's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
89 lbs...from 206 to 116.something...so almost 90. Almost 10 lbs under goal. I think of it like this...surgery was my intervention...and the first few weeks afterwards were detoxing and difficult but THEN, life begins!! Enjoy!! -

The Last Time I Ask About Hair....i Promise!
jailynn posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay...here's the deal; I am 10 months post-op and have been losing hair very slowing for five months. I never get the 60-80 gr. of Protein that I'm supposed to, but closer to 40-50. I am approximately 5 lbs under goal... My question is...will I continue to lose hair as long as I don't get in the protein OR will my body eventually adjust to my new weight and stop freaking out?? I eat...I get around 1200 calories a day. Will it stop?? -

I'm 5'1 (and a half)...I eat some Peanut Butter, a 10 gr. Protein bar, some string cheese and whatever my family has for supper....but I need to up it, I know. I'm so fixated on calories...I've been in diet mode for so many years it's hard for me to eat protein and not worry about the calories. More protein equals more calories.... Even though I'm under goal, I can't seem to relax yet. I appreciate the guidance!! -

Premier nutrition? Do they suck? I can't stand the usual Protein bar taste..... And where do I get the Bosley stuff? Right now I use Nioxin. Thanks for the input!! -

I can't tolerate the shakes...but I've added a protein bar (10 grams) and some string cheese to my day...but 60-80 is sooo much...I must need some protein secrets!! I do take Biotin and I think its saved me from being bald! -
I've been losing hair slowly for five months....I also can't seem to get near the required 60-80 g. of protein a day. My question is, will I continue to lose hair until I DO get that much protein a day or will my body eventually adjust to my new diet. I'm 10 months post-op....and luckily no one else notices my hair loss yet...just me; but if this should continue....

I have been losing hair at a very slow rate for five months....I take Biotin and use Nioxin shampoo, however, I have never been able to get in the recommended 60-80 gr. of protein a day. So my question is....will my hair continue to fall out until I DO get that much protein in OR will my body EVENTUALLY adjust to my new diet? I'm 10 months post-op....and honestly it's not severe hair loss, only I can tell, but sometimes I wonder how I can possibly have any hair, having been losing for FIVE MONTHS!! It's so upsetting...I wonder if this continues, people will start noticing and that makes me panic!! Any ideas??

This Is Repetative Buti Need To Vent!
jailynn replied to Mel34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm nearly 10 months out and have been losing hair for nearly 5 months. The above post is correct, try Nioxin products and use Biotin....it won't stop your hair from falling out but it helps hair grow. I'm surprised daily after my shower that I still have hair on my head...but I do. It'll be okay, I promise. -

Light Weight Sleevers With 125 Or Less To Loss

I had Blue Cross at the time and it was completely covered by insurance. Now we have Priority Health and I don't know if it would be now. -
Light Weight Sleevers With 125 Or Less To Loss
jailynn replied to ChristyLove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly my biggest challenge is keeping the motivation to exercise. The eating part for me was/is effortless, although when I'm PMSing I do notice I want to eat more. When I first started this journey I was excited to go to the gym every chance I could get, now not so much, so I had to change it up and now I've given myself the goal of training for a 5K. What helped me the most was doing what I needed to do for ME. You can't always do what others are doing and I had to make my own way. I don't eat like others do, I do what I need to do. -

Light Weight Sleevers With 125 Or Less To Loss
jailynn replied to ChristyLove's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My starting weight was 206 lbs....my goal was to lose 80 lbs. I reached my goal in 8 months with zero stalls. I consistently lost weight every week. I did join a gym but in no way was I doing anything vigorous...I started walking on a treadmill at 2.5 mph, thats all I could do. As for extra skin, I have a small bit of excess skin on my belly, hips and arms, but only noticable to me...someday It'd be fun to have plastic surgery but it isn't really necessary at all. I went from a size 18 (that was getting tight) to a 4. I've now lost 84 lbs and weigh 121...I feel amazing and truth be told it was the easiest thing I have ever done. Of course the first couple weeks on the liquid diet and the next few weeks on restriction were difficult but that seems like the blink of an eye now. Now I eat literally whatever I want, but I track every single calorie on myfitnesspal.com. Good luck to all....I have absolutely loved this path!! -
Life is going to be amazing....just watch!!

For the first time in over ten years I ordered a dress AND I wore shorts yesterday!! I've had lots of small NSV over the past nine months but this has to be my biggest accomplishment. I have my 25 year class reunion this July (that I never would have attended fat) AND I'm running a 5K in three weeks!! I've gotten under my chosen goal of losing 80 lbs having gone from 206 lbs to 122!! I feel awesome....I have self confidence that I didn't know could exist....the simplest things give me pleasure and I can even enjoy things that doesn't center around food...I'll go shopping and lunch is the furthest thing from my mind!! Everyone enjoy the journey....I am!!
