Started mushies today
BlueEyedSue replied to sandiburn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there! I am in the same boat except I cannot figure out if I am hungry or feeling weird pains from surgery. I was banded on 8/4 and have felt pretty well overall (except for some terrible gas pains) - but not sure what hungry feels like anymore. Any good recipes for puree/mushy food that you have found? I am looking around for something different just to jazz it up! I added 2 tsp of Peanut Butter to my choc Protein shake w/ice this morning & that was yummy... Just looking forward to texture and something that isn't so sweet. Best of luck to you! -
CONFLICTED...My Lap Band Story...
BlueEyedSue replied to Sleeved_4.3.13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Bless you for all you have been through! You certainly have had an unbelievable road to this point. I think that you have been given good advice - follow your heart and communicate with your husband. Together you will weigh your options & information and make the best decision for you. Your guilt seems very normal - although please don't let it make your decisions for you. We all have a story and we all got here by making other things a priority and not ourselves... Take care of you - it's your time... You are in my prayers! -
Hey there... I was banded on 8/4 and was also outpatient - but my first day home was crazy. I was sleeping most of it - and in a haze all day. I had a couple great days with just my port site really sore, but the rest (I have 6 incisions) doing really well. Today (day 5) I really felt the gas pain - under my sternum & rib cage mostly! It was crazy pain! I have gone through all my liquid pain meds and the doc on call told me to crush tylenol/advil and eat it with applesauce or yogurt - YUCK! That made me sick! So I am looking forward to seeing my doc on Wednesday! I read a bunch - and folks say heating pad, hot shower, and walking to help with the gas - but that it will pass! Anyway - I hope tomorrow is better! Take care!

Oh thank goodness - I was banded 8/4 and felt pretty good until today... My port site is pretty sore - but the gas that has settled under my sternum is killing me! I have walked and that doubled me over crying, I have tried a shower - some relief, and I have curled up backwards over the arm of my couch to stretch out - and that helped some... I am really hurting and wondering if I did the right thing. I took 3 years to make this decision with my doctor & husband supporting me - but I am so uncomfortable. Thank you all for posting that it will pass - you might just be what gets me through this!
