The Horrible Feeling That You Are Done

I'll show you mine... (LBD's)
my_year2011 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look fabulous! I don't own a LBD but now you've got me thinking that I want one! I like Carolina's idea of getting one in a super small size now to wear someday when I reach my goal...not a silly idea at all....because I KNOW I will reach my goal in no time at all....with the help of my sleeve! . Keep up the good work! -
You look amazing!

no 'feeling of sensation' of having to urinate
my_year2011 replied to my_year2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you everyone for your responses. I'm glad I'm not the only one, it seems pretty common. For a minute I was thinking there must be something wrong. Thanks again! -
no 'feeling of sensation' of having to urinate
my_year2011 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 1 month out and ever since the surgery I haven't felt any sensation of having to urinate, my bladder never feels full where I know I have to go to the bathroom..... I have to force myself to go sit down every 2-3 hours and "force" it out. Has anyone else had this problem since surgery? It's really wierd. My thoughts are maybe just because I'm not getting all my water down(??), not as much output. I didn't have this problem before surgery. Let me know your thoughts, thanks. -
Post-Op Broken Tastebuds?
my_year2011 replied to CaliforniaJenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad you said this, because for the last week I thought I was going crazy. My tongue is coated too even though I brush my teeth and tongue several times a day (and when I look at it in the mirror it's greenish/yellow in the middle), I have a constant sweet taste in my mouth too, probably from the Protein shakes, crystal light.... everything is so sweet. Water tasted awful to me too at first, but if I drink it loaded with ice and very cold I can drink it down (a few sips at a time). My mouth is also very flemmy.... always having to spit out all this thick flem. Have you had this problem too? I am 2 weeks post-op tomorrow..... I start mushies on Friday. I can't wait to start having some sort of normal diet. Please tell me this sweet taste in my mouth will eventually go away... Also, I don't seem to be peeing very much, so I'm hoping I'm not dehydrated. My first appt with surgeon post op is this Tuesday so I'm definitely going to mention it to him. I must not be getting all my fluids down, even though I'm sipping all day long it seems. -
I am only on day 6 post op and am on full liquids, Protein shakes, creamed Soups, thinned oatmeal or cream of wheat, ff pudding. Maybe you should try some really thin oatmeal, it made me feel normal again and got to chew something. Good luck!

First eating out - Nothing like expected
my_year2011 replied to lizsmile80's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only 6 days post-op so I haven't even got my mushies yet, but when I read your story of the dining in England, I remembered that you can print a card (like a business card) from Obesityhelp.com which states that you have a medical reason for your small appetite and you can pass these out as needed. I bet that chef would have been more understanding if he had got the card, then he wouldn't have been so pushy. Just a thought anyways.... -
Congratulations and welcome to the loser's club! I am 6 days post-op, haven't had too much pain either. I did choose the morphine drip in the hospital, but haven't had to take any pain meds since being home. I was only in the hospital 1 night too. Good luck to you!

6 days Post surgery -UPDATE life gets better!!!
my_year2011 replied to myezzence's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm only 3 days post op and I have the same feeling as you. Pressure right at the breast bone. I was told that that means I am getting full or I have gas pains. I took 2 gas-x tabs tonight and it seemed to help. What kind of food are you eating now? My directions says Clear Liquids & Isopure Days 0-3, then full liquids Days 4-14, and i don't start pureed foods until after day 14. Maybe you're trying regular foods too soon. -
how do they leak test you and does it hurt?
my_year2011 replied to ALHOAGIRL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked my dr when i would get a leak test done and he told me he did it already in the operating room, no leaks! So i think it is different for everyone how they do this. Today is my first day home. -
Sleeved and more confused than ever!
my_year2011 replied to mythreechildren2001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just 1 day post-op, so it's nice to hear that it will get better. I am up 7 lbs from surgery date, feel bloated and stomach swollen feeling on left side. I was told to start my vitamins from day 1 so I will try today, plus I start Isopure today too. I was told first 3 days clear liquids, then full liquids starting day 4-14. -
Good luck with your surgery too! Thank you for adding me. I'll see you on the loser's bench soon!
