Congratulations......you will do great! A few things.....make sure hubby or whomever gets you Won Ton soup...that was a life saver for me....since you can only do clear liquids. Also, very common is gas in your shoulder after surgury...it goes away in about one week if you get it. Enjoy your journey most of all......Im a year out and down 100 lbs and finally feeling a little bit like my old self again♥
Hey there,
I started at 324....and I had my surgery 06/29/11- I am now 282.....we can do this! I have eliminated all bread, soda and most all Snacks. We can get there, one step at a time! Good luck....
I can not eat bread at all....I have learned not to even try. I am 3 1/2 months out and have lost 45 Lbs. I have only had 1 fill at 1cc.......I have also figured out that just because I might be able to eat something at one point it always changes and then I am not able to tolerate it another time. But, bread is a big no no for me.....
I am 2 1/2 months out and have lost 32 Lbs so far post surgery. I have had only 1fill.....my suggestion mis to not eat any bread. At first I tried some bread and it always was rough going down, many times it wouldn't; so I had to stop eating all bread and most pasta all together. I do sip on water with my meal....I am trying to stop that but it's only a little.
Allison,
I had my surgery a few days befor you had yours. My DR told me that there was just a tiny bit of Fluid in my band when I had the surgery. Then I had a fill last month of 2 cc. I went in for another fill yesterday and was told they weren't going to give me another fill yet because I am experiencing restriction...and a good amount of weight loss. I think everyone is different in how and when you experience restriction. For me I have a hard time eating a lot of things, and especially in the morning. I am losing about 3 LBS a week and am feeling great. You just have to find your sweet spot......everyone is different. But I have to admit I am struggling with the no drinking while eating thing. That will be my biggest challenge I think.....but good luck to you!
I am about 2 1/2 weeks post op and have developed a port site infection. DR. says if it doesn't get better with antibiodicts they will have to remove the band. Anyone have this problem????
I also had my surgery on the 27th....I am on soft foods already and I have been taking my meds whole from day one. My DR told me it would be fine and to start on soft foods right away as I could tolerate them. I can't eat a lot or I should say I don't eat a lot because I'm scared mainly.....I eat three times a day and only like a couple teaspoons full of food.
