After almsot 20 years of being on a diet, sometimes sucessful and often not, but steadily getting heavier, I deceided that I need some more help.

I had a gastric band fitted in June 2011 and lost 80 pounds in the next 15 months! I loved my band, was never hungry and felt like a different person.
Unfortunately I sterted to get really bad refulx in July 2012, over the next 6 months the fluid in my band was removed but the refulx continued and it ws getting harder to get anthing past my band, I also had 4 baruim swallows that showed that my band had slipped slightly.
My band was removed as an emergency in December 2012.
I was just 2 pounds away for my target weight then and so I hoped to be able to keep my weight down on my own........
As soon as my band was removed and I could again eat normally I was constantly hungry, I do not eat huge amounts but a lot more than I was able to with the band. The result is a 16 pound gain in 3 months. According to my physcologist and surgeon I have a 97% chance of regaining all the weight I lost, probably more. Basically I have virtually no chance of maintaining a healthy weight for long and will most likely have a BMI of over 40 in about a years time.
My surgeon wanted me to wait at least 3 months before having a sleeve resection and this time has been hell :(
I was first told that my insurance would pay for the sleeve but after a few stressful months, letters, reports etc they will not cover the costs so I am having to pay for the op my self.
My operation date is next week the 03.04.2013 and although I am really looking forward to it, I am quite nervous as well......
So I had my band revision in April 2013 and it's great, portion size is controlled and no other issues, no reflux and no throwing up :)
I finally feel in control of my weight.
I lost the weight I had gained without the band steadily.
I am now at goal with a BMI of 24!
I am considering a tummy tuck and breast lift to get rid of the loose skin and stretch marks.

I now have an appointment for a Tummy Tuck on the 02.07.2014, really excited, can't wait!!
Will also have a breast lift in the autumn.
