Anyone with Surg between Nov 13th and Nov 18th
SassynDirect replied to steeler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will DEFINITELY reach out. Just wanted you to know that you've already motivated me...I've been checking out the fitness classes offered at my local park district and found one that's giving a free week of Jazzercise the first week of January. WooHoo! I'll be going to that and seeing what else I can fit into my schedule. -
Anyone with Surg between Nov 13th and Nov 18th
SassynDirect replied to steeler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Rhonda! I'm so glad this thread is still active. That is so great that you've already got your workout plan together and congrats on your weight loss!! Eating is getting much easier for me too but I'm still learning exactly what I can and can't handle. Finally had scrambled eggs this morning...oh my were they yummy!! I was even able to get some down with hot sauce...I'm Mexican and having to wait another two or four weeks to add spicy food is a KILLER! My doc has me on Prevacid for four months too. How long will you have to take Nexium? Happy 2011, everyone! :grouphug: -
Trouble taking chewable vitamins
SassynDirect replied to Ellisa's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thanks Elisa for this tip! I had stopped taking my vitamins too because I threw up the last time I tried them. This morning I vowed to get back on the vitamin train...so I pulverized my multi vitamin and was able to get it down. Basically I cut it in half and crushed it with the back of a spoon and chased it with a sip of water. Sorta tasted like pop rocks. That was about two hours ago and so far so good. -
**How You Doin"?**
SassynDirect replied to BZButterfly79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi BZ, I was sleeved on 11/29 and I was pretty much in the same situation food wise as you described until Christmas. Maybe it was more of a "mind over matter" deal, but I was able to eat well on that day without getting that back of the throat stuck feeling or having to burp constantly after every meal. I also recently started taking Syntrax nectar (I ordered a sample pack from the company) and have been drinking two packets a day mixed with crystal light and water. That guarantees that I get in at least 46 g of protein and my water intake has increased as well. I had stopped taking my vitamins because I threw up after taking one a couple of weeks ago. But I know I need them, I feel winded after a little activity, so today I vowed to get back on track with vitamins. I pulverized my multi Vitamin and luckily it's stayed down. The B12 and Iron pills are smaller and not as chalky as the multi or Calcium so those haven't been the problem. Everyone comments on how much thinner I look and how good I look, but I have a hard time seeing it myself. It is awesome to be able to wear clothes that I haven't worn in a looooong time and now that the eating is getting easier I do feel good about the decision to be sleeved. Good luck with your journey. I'm looking forward to celebrating our results together! -
Thanks for posting your results. You've come a long way and deserve to be proud of your accomplishments! What an inspiration you are to all of us just starting out. Have a safe & happy new year!

My 3 Months Post Pics
SassynDirect replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Wow, you look phenomenal! Please don't take this the wrong way but the now pics of you compared to where you were...well if I saw those without knowing your story, I would think you were showing pics of a mom and daughter. CONGRATULATIONS!!! How awesome to almost be in size 14 pants. Can't wait to get there myself. -
Congratulations, Cassb and everyone else on this forum! I can totally relate to you, I'm 41 years old, single mom to a beautiful 15 month old little girl and she's the reason that I finally went forward with weight loss surgery after YEARS of debating on whether or not to do it. I couldn't spend the rest of our time together being over 300#, tired all the time and achy and not being able to be as active as she needs me to be. I can't wait until Springtime so we can get outside together.

SassynDirect replied to steeler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone...just found this thread, are you all still active? I was sleeved on Nov. 29th and hoping to find others that are in the same boat as me. Hope you all are doing well!:rose: -
Congratulations on your weight loss! I was sleeved on the same day as you. How are you doing? There's also a November 2010 thread here that's not very active but maybe we could change that.

Post op diet killing me!!
SassynDirect replied to MistyB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's such a great idea for your local store to do tasting parties. I just ordered a Protein Drink sampler for $13 free S&H from Syntrax nectar. I read good recommendations from them here and on Obesity Help. I was on a protein/liquid diet for 2 weeks PRIOR to surgery so post-op I was so ready to be done with the liquid stage. I can't even stand the taste of chocolate right now since most of the things I was able to eat during that phase where chocolate-flavored. My recommendation is to modify foods that you liked prior to surgery. I love Chinese food so during the liquid phase I'd have won ton soup minus the won ton....best tasting thing I ate that whole week. And the great thing is that a pint lasted for 3-4 meals. Now, I'll have two dumplings but only eat the meat and a tiny bit of the noodle part. I'm a pasta/carbaholic so I need just a taste to get me through. Good luck with your journey! -
One Week to Go... and I'm thinking of Chickening OUt
SassynDirect replied to rain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cinderella...you ROCK girl! Congratulations on believing in yourself and moving forward with your decision. Others who are on the fence should read this post and see your turnaround. It's really amazing to see the difference in tone in the postings at the beginning of this thread to the ones post-surgery. Even your font is excited...hahaha. CONGRATULATIONS again and I'm so glad your hubby's attitude has improved. Laura
