    Paying a program fee?

At first I went to Dr. Curry in Cincinnati and had to pay a program fee of $300. After I paid and got approved by insurance I decided that since they were out of network that I would go somewhere else for my procedure. I went to Dr. Schumacher in Dayton.....they do not charge a program fee. Also, after I switched doctors, Dr. Curry's office staff was not so helpful to me and in fact rude. They would not answer my voicemails or emails and I had to call and actually talk to them three times to get them to fax my file to Dr. Schumacher's office. When they finally did fax it they didn't send everything that was needed - good thing I kept a copy of all of my records before sending them in. In my opinion it just made me feel like I had made the right decision in changing doctors to begin with. I would highly recommend Dr. Schumacher and his staff you might want to check them out.
  6. I got word from Medical Mutual today that I have been approved. I'm so relieved.......and so excited to get banded.

Cross your fingers for me Please!

I'm from Chillicothe. I'm still patiently waiting for my approval letter. I sure hope that it is soon. What doctor/hospital are you going to?
  8. Vinegar - take one tablespoon in the morning and one in the evening to burn fat I did this one morning - and I even like vinegar - but I almost died. My insides burnt all day - needless to say I didn't follow thru with it that evening.
  9. Have you visited the website lately? They have a forum for their patients now where you can post questions to the staff. They answer questions pretty quick too......go see it is nice.
  10. My file is being submitted to Medical Mutual of Ohio today. I've waited 6+ months now to get to this point. I'm getting excited (to get approval) and scared (of being denied) at the same time. All I can do now is  Anyone else been dealing with Medical Mutual? How has your approval went?

    Are you banded??

I'm not banded but hoping to be in the next couple of months.
  12. Wow - good luck to you. Be sure to check back in few days and let us know how everything is going. What insurance do you have if you don't mind me asking. I'm getting ready to submit my info to my insurance company and I have no comorbidities either. Mine is Medical Mutual
  13. I am hoping to be banded in a couple of months pending insurance approval and I have a question for those of you that are already banded.....In my current situation, I eat whether I am hungry or not and I do this a lot of the time. Like last night before bed I was watching the news and all I could think about was getting something sweet. I went to the kitchen and got a couple of Cookies and headed back to the bedroom and sat down then I stopped and asked myself - why did I give in - why did I need these cookies, I was not even hungry - so I took them back to the kitchen and went back to watching the news. As I sat there I was thinking about what had just happened and I found myself thinking enough is enough that I won't be able to do this after the band is placed and I will not fail with the band I will change my ways and be successful......... Question - was any of you this way before the band and how did you handle the situation after being banded.
  14. I too am hoping to be banded soon and have had the same thoughts. I figure with the band it will make me change the habits I have had over the years that with dieting I haven't HAD to change. I am planning to use this TOOL to the best of my ability. My grandma, aunt and uncle all had the bypass and lost their weight quickly and they think I am crazy for wanting to take this approach since it is not a quick way to loose. I'm not wanting surgery to get a quick weight loss but to loose the weight I need to loose to be more healthy and if that takes a couple of years than that is what it is going to take. Good luck on your approval

    Plastic Surgery Poll

I voted - I won't say never, but I seriously doubt it - My grandma, aunt and uncle all had the bypass done a few years ago, yes they sag but they look great. You can't tell it for the most part when they are wearing normal clothes but if they are in a bathing suit is when you notice it most or if my uncle has his shirt off. I figure saggy flat skin is better than all this fat hanging everywhere.
