I think maybe a little but that is more like the way I felt when I failed yet another diet. I remember trying very hard every time and I just could not keep the weight off no matter how bad I wanted it so it was not just my lack of will power. You are on a tough day. I remember day 5 and it was a black one for me. You will be in a much better mental place soon.

I tried some the other day in beenie weenies. The beans were great but the hot dogs didn't taste good...but it went down. They have turkey dogs that are a pretty good choice healthwise...Check the label.

Some of you might remember me mentions a pain under one of my incisions that hurt when I moved certain ways...hurt quite a bit actually inless I was in the right position. I called the doc office and they said muscle or scar tissue pulled. Well, yesterday I had a new pain in the incision next to it. It burns like someone is sticking me with a hot knife and there are very few positions I can get in to to relieve it. Walking, getting up, sitting, bending, turning over in bed...PAIN!!!! It even burns when I touch it. There is no swelling or redness but it is at the point where I will not be able to go to work tomorrow. I plan to call the doctor but does anyone have any ideas what it is and how I can help it? Why do these things always happen on the weekend?

Still Having Big Problems and I Need Suggestions
zephra replied to tbarnes18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ask your Doctor's office if they have any free samples. That is how I tried the Unjury. I don't think I would have ordered because I have dropped so much money on Protein and it would just kill me to spend more on something I hated. I don't know if I could add it to my water. I think the texture would be a huge turn off but ya never know. I eat things now I never thought were good before...and food I loved before is nasty to me now. If you try it, let me know how you like it in water. -

Oooh I want dibs on the clothing. I need smaller stuff for work. I have very little now and have wearing the same 3 outfits to work everyday. I would be ever so grateful and would gladly pay shipping. -
I don't have to see the Dr. until the 19th of July but I am going to call and talk to them about this pain from the incisions. I can't stand the pain. They may want me to come in. What time will you be there?
I would love to help you. Las Colinas and Valley Ranch is a bit far for me but I would do most anything for a friend. I will PM you my e mail address and phone number and you can call or e mail any time. Glad to hear you are coming back. It is a great place to live.

That sounds good! My 2 week stall broke today with a 3 pound drop overnight. I saw the weight loss in the mirror before the scale did so measure. I lost the weight in my legs instead of my waist like I thought I would. I like seeing the loss in my clothes and in the mirror but it is nice to see the scale moving again. Don't worry too much if it down not move for a while. It will move again because...look at what we are eating. It HAS to go down.

weak, tired, forcing intake
zephra replied to delawaregal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get hungry every 3 hours or so too and at first that got me bummed but a few bites of something and I am fine. Remember when it was a whole combo from Wendy's? Sometimes that was not enough for me. I have heard that goes away too. I wonder... I was having a lot of trouble getting my Water in and I confess, didn't even get in half yesterday because work got in the way but usually I carry a camelbak cup that has a built in straw that does not allow you to swallow air. It can hold 24 oz. I full it up and carry it with me everywhere. I just can't drink water cause it does not taste good to me. I drink Crystal light. I am not thrilled because I really don't like it that much but it is better than water. Now Protein, that is another battle. It takes me 2 hours to drink a shake and I am talking myself out of it the whole time. When we had our 2 week diet class, one of the ladies mentioned that it took her hours to drink one and we were told that it was not only normal, but perfect so I guess I am doing it right...and so are you! I felt like you did, weak, and it was around day 11 that I started feeling better. It was a little each day and it was after I started getting in enough water. I hope you start experiencing that turn around soon. -

Ya know, I started adding unflavored Protein to all my soups because I had so much trouble getting protein in. I could not taste it at at all. I think I used unjury. -
question concerning weight and goal
zephra replied to mommytoethan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Initially 150 was my goal because I feared I could not get any lower but i changed it because I sooooo know I can do it this time and why not go all the way. 130 is my new goal and my starting was 251. I hit 226 this morning 17 days out. I got this. I can do this. And so can you. -

My one week stall (only 2 weeks out) just broke this morning. I would suggest that you take your measurements. I did and was really frustrated that I was not losing in my waist until I realized yesterday that I was losing it all in my legs. I was a bit down about not losing (I even gained a little) but when I saw myself naked (AHHHH) in the mirror yesterday and when I put clothes on that I have not fit in ages, I could see it even if the scale did not. Think about how little you are eating. You HAVE to lose weight. You WILL lose weight. Sometimes our bodies need to adjust what we have lost and it take a little while to reset. Measure and don't step on the scale for a few days. You will drive yourself crazy. Make sure you are getting in your Water and Protein too. Now, the next time I go crazy when I hit a stall, make sure you say all this back to me cause I will need to hear it. -
It is most likely nothing but Ouch!

Okay, it has gone from sore to Damn it hurts and I went to bed last night in tears. My other incision has started burning when I move some ways and the other is almost constant pain unless I am laying on my right side. I have to walk hunched over and holding my belly. I am sure I pulled the scar tissue away. That just makes sense for the pain I am having but it really hurts. I need to call the doctor again Monday morning. I barely made it through my open house. Thank goodness I had one of the kids to help pull signs. I did have to pull one myself and it was the large one..but I didn't have a choice. I can't even walk in the morning. Good news is that my stall is over and the scale has moved down 3 pounds. -
My First NSV-I am happy about sagging skin!
zephra posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have been a little down because the scale is not moving and has not for a week. I know about stalls I am guess I am in one at only 2 weeks out. However, I just went upstairs to get dressed for an open house I am hosting as a Real Estate agent this afternoon. First I put on my "hold everything in" foundation garments because my incisions hurt a lot and it helps. I noticed sagging skin on my legs I have never seen before. At first I was inclined to freak but then I realized that meant I was still losing somewhere even if the waist tape measure and scale were not budging. Then I started trying on clothes. All my favorites were too lose. Even some that were tight before surgery. I decided on something I used to love to wear that was very tight before surgery but looked so good on me now that I just kept looking at myself in the mirror...in wonder. This is the first time I am saying this: I LOVE MY SLEEVE.!!! -

I am going to try very hard to not look at the scale unless it is my weekly or monthly weigh in. I know it will be hard but I think it will hep keep me from freaking out about it not moving. This is one time that I can not blame me for the scale not moving because I know what I am eating is a good choice. But seeing the weight loss...that is the best. I feel like I could cry with joy. -

Doctor Davidson did mine and I talked to office that I overdid it and pulled something. They said childrens Ibuprofen followed by a glass of water. It took the edge off but it still hurts bad. I have an open house to do today and am not sure how I will get it done. I am thinking tight support garments to hold everything in place. -

I called this morning and was told that I most likely overdid it. She gave me a few suggestions for relief that I hope help because I can't spend all day laying on the couch. -
I'm pretty sure I am in a stall right now. I am only 15 days out and I am in day 5 of no scale moving.

3 weeks post op - Return to the gym for cardio only
zephra replied to Lillie24's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I have been walking in the mornings before I eat but mostly because I need to get it done before it gets too hot here. I notice I run out of energy pretty quick but I am only a few weeks out from surgery. Curious though, that do you mean by sever hypothyroidism? Are your TSH, T3 and T4 levels in check? I remember my TSH being 86 and I felt like the walking dead. If mine is above 2 it gets hard to function. -
I spent all of yesterday very hungry. No matter what I ate or drank, it was not enough. Today it is much better. I remember reading someone who posted saying that it took several weeks for the remaining ghrelin to leave our systems and the hungry feeling to go away.

Question for Dr Davidson patients - dallas tx
zephra replied to chellebelle0880's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They kept having to stick me several times because my blood was so thick. Everyone who came in my room to take blood kept saying the same thing "I have never had this much trouble getting blood before". I feel you on the needle thing. I never want to get stuck again, unfortunately, I have hypothyroidism and have to get blood checked all the time. -

You know, I read so much about his very dry bedside manner but I remembered that when I talked to him. I found him to be a very nice guy and as far as his surgery skills, he is great. I like his office very much. I had my 2 week diet meet with Lauren and she is so much fun. Our meeting ended up going way over cause we kept chatting about everything and cracking jokes. I only have a problem with one member on the staff and it was not really too big of a deal. They just tried to tell me I was supposed to like something that was sold to me out of the office and I just didn't like it. Was told I had the wrong mind set. I took great offense to that. We also argued about Water retention...Don't care for that person anymore and try to avoid working with them if possible. I don't have to go back until the 19th and I hope to lose a lot before then but I am turning out to be a slow looser. -

What shot are you going to get? I have not been stuck since I had to do blood work one week out because I didn't feel well. Week one they only took out a few staples and I remember that didn't hurt one bit. I don't even think I realized Sandy had taken any out and she was done. As far as pain, if you hurt, you hurt. Period. But I did start to feel a lot better when I got off the heavy pain meds. Today, I went for a 40 minute walk. Taking those staples out made it so much easier. -

That's funny. I just saw him and got mine out today. RELIEF! Only one hurt and that was the one that was really bothering me in the first place. It was no big deal at all. They just pull them right out. Took a second.
