Mine is December 17th

My surgery is December 17th with Kuwada at CMC Mercy

He only does 3 surgeries per day. And only performs them on Mondays. I was approved about a month ago, and my surgery is schedule for Decembe 17th. His nurse Sherri, said that you can always call back every 10 days and see if there are any cancellations

I know all surgerons are different. I have seen where they only had to be off their drugs for 2 weeks. But the way my surgeron told me was, "it is better to be in horrible pain from RA and Lupus without drugs, then being in pain and dying from a leak" I feel lazy and immobile. I do nothing all day long. I take my kids to school, and come home and take a pain pill. Try to do some type of light cleaning and then I sleep till it is time to get them off the bus. I have a wonderful husband that does everything for me. But I feel so bad for him cause he works so hard. I have not lost any weight, and have gained 3 pounds since starting this Journey. But I get no exersice. I am ready for my surgery and for a new life. And praying for pain free joints!

I wonder if you will be able to continue your Mobic. I used to be on Mobic I was taking off due it causing ulcers. I hope you have a great appt tomorrow! Please keep us updated.

Why do we have to give up caffeine? I am okay giving up my soda's but my sweet tea is going to be hard. And it is has to be caffeine free too

Has anyone ever tried Unjury Unflavored? I have tried all the other shakes through Unjury, but not the unflavored. Is it really unflavored? Could it be mixed with anything?

I have had this pain before. I have not had the sleeve yet. But it was dx as pancreasitis

I think my mine is $175.00 per night in the hospital. And that is it!! So exciting!

I have slight high blood pressure. The only thing I had to show was that I have tried losing weight before, by using a diet drug prescribe by a doctor.

This is how I understand about Humana/Medicare. I have to use the same standards at Medicare. Medicare pass the law on the sleeve, as case by case. Humana now allows it. I have to use the Hospital and Surgeon of Excellence just like Medicare.

I started the process in May. The office I used is very busy, so appts are made out in months advance. It really only took 2 months to get everything going. And when I finished all my steps the dr faxed my papers to Humana and it was approved within 2 days.

Humana Gold is covering all of it.

I was approved for my sleeve. My surgery is December 17th 2012. I have Medicare with Humana Gold as my supplement.

Different thearpist use different tactics. The true false test uses ways to catch you in lying. They say they can tell if you are emotional eater, or lying by taking that test. I opted out on that one, and went to another thearpist.

I also have RA and Fibro. My surgeron wanted me to be off all my RA meds for 2-3 months before surgery. I was hoping my surgery would be this month. I just got approved on Tuesday, and the next available is not till Dec. 17th 2012. I have not had my MTX or Cimizia since August 1st. I am in so much pain. Basically, I have been laying in bed, and I guess I have 2 more months of this.

I have RA and have been off my meds since August 1st. I can not start back till 1 month after surgery. It has been very hard, where I lay in the bed for most of the day. Hopefully my surgery will be schedule soon. I had to stop Mtx and Cimiza

I am 30 years old, and will be eligible for medicare/humana on May 1st. I am really hoping for the sleeve. But I can't find the info on medicare/humana approval

This past Wednesday I had my pschyology Evaluation. I just received my letter in the mail. I am very diappointed and mad. I am 30 and disable due to lupus and RA. I did not like the pschyologist to begin with. She kept saying if I exercised I would feel better and my diseases will go away. That is so far from the truth. Well she denied me for 3 months, and saids I need counseling before she will approved me for surgery. Because I need to have a establishing and maintaining appropriate exercise routine. I can not ever have a routine due to my illnesses. If I feel good I will do exercises.

She works at the surgeons office.

Was just informed by my surgeron today that he would like me to be off my meds at least one month before surgery. He reallys recommends 2 months. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I knew I would go off my biologics. I didn't know he wanted me off the predisone too. I don't know how I will operate without my meds. I want this surgery so bad, but just this thought of going 2 months without meds stopping cold turkery will affect me.
