No complications here. I just didn't have good weightloss after 4 years. And I hated the port, it bothered me. I'm so happy my surgeon mentioned the revision to me at my yearly check-up. The sleeve is a miracle!

Nope, my band is permanently erased from by body and my mind! I had extra pain where the port was, but even that's gone.
-
Did your surgeon take out the band first and then wait?

My band was removed and I was sleeved all at once. Thank God! I would hate to have waited! -
How do feel about the lapband now that you have had yours removed?

I hated my band! Where the port was always hurt me....now I feel fantastic!! -
Sounds yummy but I couldn't even think of having anything that spicy! Even black pepper bothered me. I"m 6 weeks out now though and still haven't had tomato soup. I guess it's time to give it a try! Thanks for sharing your recipe. Also, my first two weeks I was on clear liquids and the 2nd two weeks full liquids....my surgeon is really tough! lol

Hi there, I'm a grazer by nature but trying hard to break that habit now that I've been blessed with VSG. Let me just tell you that I bet I could sit down and eat half a bag of chips. But I can't even eat 1/2 a cup of chicken! Soooo, it's the chicken I stick with. If I'm craving crunchy chips, I literally count out 5 or 10 chips, and have them after my solid protein....and usually I can only eat 3! I log everything at myfitnesspal.com which is awesome. It shows you how many calories, carbs, fat, and protein you are consuming. It has a database of literally every food in the world! It opened my eyes as to how many carbs I was eating, I made some adjustments, and the weight started flying off again. If you join (its free) add me as a friend (tippy2us) and we can help each other... Make the decision to make this procedure work for you. It's a very VERY helpful tool but it needs your help too! Go with solid proteins first and no liquids while eating and you will stay full longer. -

I love this post. Way to be disciplined! I'm doing the same thing...measuring, weighing, and counting everything...but I feel I get hungry too quickly sometimes as well. I like the idea of drinking water and taking a walk. Thank you for sharing and reaffirming for me that I'm doing the right thing. -
Several soups puree nicely too. My favorite is Campbells bean and bacon...the condensed version that you add a can of Water to. I put it in the blender and pureed it then heated it up and ate it with some 2% cheese sprinkled on top. At that stage I could only eat about 4 tablespoons of anything, including soup! My doctor gave me a surgery guide with about 100 pages of information in it. I would give your doc a call and ask if there's any guideline they can give you. Congrats on your decision!

Vacation. The only person in my company who knows is my partner in my department and she's very supportive and won't tell a soul. Now that I'm losing weight fairly rapidly I've decided that once I'm about 2/3 of the way to my goal I will tell people because there are a few who could really benefit from this if they choose, and our insurance pays for it. For right now though, I don't want people asking me how much I lost, making me get up and turn around so they can see me, or scrutinizing everything I eat and that's what they will do!
