Labor Day - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???
Tippy2us replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My goal was ONE-derland. Well it's the day before Labor Day and I weigh 198. So happy! -
Way to go ladies! I always take a doggy bag home too, so now my favorite restaurant foods last me 2 or 3 meals. It's really cool. OR hubby and I get one meal and split it. He's lost 14 lbs since I was sleeved LOL He's nly 8 lbs overweight now and his doctor is thrilled!

Congratulations! Tha'ts so exciting!

Thank you, that makes sense. Then tonight I ate a piece of fish and got full really fast. Maybe crunchy tacos are a slider food for me.
-
There was about 10 minutes between the first few bites and the last few bites and another 15 minutes before the second taco. I didn't drink while I was eating...just before. Looks like I need to stay away from tacos if they are going to slide down like that!

Hi everyone. First thing in the morning when I take a drink of coffee on an empty stomach, I can feel the heat go down all the way to my lower abdomen. Same thing if I drink something cold on an empty stomach. I can't imagine I have a leak because I feel fantastic, have none of the symptoms, and can eat very little food (1/4-1/2 cup unless it's tacos). I only feel it on the first couple of swallows. Does anyone know what might cause this? Is the hot or cold liquid hitting nerves or something? And is anyone else experiencing it? Thanks

Any one else have this happen?

Newbie looking for help in SoCal
Tippy2us replied to GdzDva's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Miyme, I'm from Lancaster Ca. Welcome! I had the lap band in 2007 and I had no complications, but my weight loss was poor. I just couldn't get the tightness right..it was either too tight or not tight enough. I lost 50 then gained back 15 when it had to be loosened after being way too tight and causing major acid reflux. At my last yearly exam my surgeon told me about VSG and I loved the thought of it. Just make my stomach smaller DUH!! This makes sense! He got it approved by my insurance and he did the revision on June 27th. I am THRILLED. I didn't realize how much I hated the lap band. Eating was NO fun and the port always hurt. I'm 9 weeks post op and have already lost 31 lbs and I'm under 200 lbs for the first time in 22 years. I highly recommend VSG. It just makes sense! My email address is tippy2us@verizon.net if you want to email me anytime. Take care! -
Oh man you look great! Congratulations...you are such an inspiration!

....for the first time in 22 years! I'm bustin!!! And not 'cuz my pants are too tight this time! LOVE VSG!!!

Excellent! Congrats to you too!

I looked in the back of my closet and found 3 very nice pair of dress slacks for work that I bought a couple of years ago after losing some weight but they only fit for a minute back then. I tried them on last week and they are almost too big!!!!! Oh and as of this morning, I'm in ONE-DER-LAND!!!! Not just visiting this time either! LOVE LOVE LOVE VSG!!

Here's the difference. If I ove rate with the lap-band it would hurt a minute then go down, and after that I could eat way too much. With the sleeve that does not happen. If I over eat, I'm in horrible pain and end up throwing up. You only do that a couple of times...believe me. I also visualize my sleeve. It's long and skinny, is not very stretchy, and does not contain the part of the stomach that makes you crave food and want to over eat. Visualize eating just enough to fill it up without stretching it every time you eat. That's working for me....so far. And yes, I eat crap I shouldn't eat now and then so I joined myfitnesspal.com and I log everything, even the bad stuff, and knowing I'm going to log it can usually keep me from eathing itl Best of luck to you! This is the best thing I've ever done for myself. I couldn't be happier!

My doctor emptied mine 4 days before surgery and I was under the impression that it was necessary for the surgery? I didn't gain any weight because I was on a liquid diet anyway. I LOVED having it emptied because I hated it so much.

Power Crunch are my favorite. They go down easy because they are light and crispy like a sugar wafer. 200 calories 10 carbs 14 protein. Vitamin Shoppe and Trader Joe's are the places I've seen them. Much cheaper at Trader Joes!

Well said Kelly! -
Does your sleeve get tighter or looser depending on what you eat?

Stress does me in especially if I just ate, because it will come back up. -

Poor weight loss after band to sleeve revision?
Tippy2us replied to Pebbles's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my revision on June 27th...about 8 weeks ago and I'm down 29 lbs. I do water aerobics twice a week and sometimes three. If I was more consistent with the exercise I'm sure I would be down more. I'm thrilled with my weight loss. It's exceeded my expectations! AND I'm thrilled to have that band out of my body!! I LOVE my sleeve! -
OMG OMG OMG Congrats! I'm just 2 lbs away and can't wait! It's been 21 years since I've visited ONEderland and this time I'm moving in lock stock and barrel.....and never leaving! Way to go, you are a wonderful inspiration!!

Bariatric Advantage and Opti Fast
Tippy2us replied to etlopie's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I used Opti-fast when I got the lap band and I bought it online. Are you from So. Cal? I wonder if we have the same doctor? Dr. Paya? I remember Opti-fast being available through him...Anyway, this time I bought my own whey protein and made my own shakes. I buy most of my vitamins at walmart or the vitamin shoppe but I do get my calcium citrate chews from bariatric advantage because I haven't been able to find the chewy ones (chocolate, caramel, etc.) in citrate form anywhere else. -
Hubby and I in Vegas 5 weeks post-op, down 24 lbs.
