  1. Hi New Friends, I’m 5 days post-op and here’s my story… At my heaviest I weighed 265 and I’m 5’2. I’ve dieted my whole life and only twice Iwas successful enough to lose 50 lbs. The last time was in 2005, on Weight Watchers. I was down 50 and feeling great then in 2006 mysister, who was my best friend, died suddenly, our house sold, I got a new job,and bam it came back really fast. I wasso disgusted with myself and majorly depressed. One night I got on the computer and read about Lap-band surgery. Icontacted a surgeon and had the procedure in 2008. I lost 50 lbs. but hated itthe whole way. Lots of pain while eating and at the location of the port. It was never adjusted quite right, too tightor too loose. I also never lost more than50 lbs. after 3 years…So during my last annual visit with my surgeon in Januarywe talked about it and he asked if I had heard of VSG. Now, I had to pay $7,000 out of pocket forthe lap-band, but he said insurance companies are paying for VSG, and thiswould be a lap-band reversal as well, and he was right. I already know I’m going to be happier. I’m pretty sore, especially where the portwas removed, but I already feel better. I’m happy I found this forum and I plan to stick with you guys all alongthe way. Thanks! Fast Weight loss Online at the Weight Loss Center
  2. Thanks for the replies. Carina, I added some creamy soups and I already feel a lot better. I have never had any nausea either, just so sick of the clear liquids......Sungbyrd, I can get down a lot more than 8 oz a day! I can get about 16 oz of a Protein drink down over the course of an hour to an hour and a half. But I agree, how in the world do people eat solids? Wow! I like this so much more than the lap band though, and other than one incision (where the lap band port was removed) I have no pain. That one is a killer though. I was planning on going back to work on Tuesday but I'm going to take at least that day off and maybe Wednesday too. No reason to rush it. Good luck to both of you and keep in touch!!! :-) I'm going to click to add you as friends...
  3. Wow you look fantastic! I'm just 5 days post-op and you have just been a huge inspiration to me! I only told my best friend and my family because I feel the same way as you. I don't want everyone coming into my office and telling me to stand up so they can see how much I lost, or making comments about what I eat, or telling me the horror stories they have heard.. It's none of their business! Way to go and thank you so much for sharing!!

    Post op Day 8

Hi there, You haven't gained any weight ... you know how our scale weight can fluctuate hourly! Only weigh once or twice a week.
  5. Sorry for all the words that ran together. I composed my story in word then copied and pasted it here...looks like it pasted wierd!

    4 days post op

Hi, I was "sleeved on Monday, June 27th, and I've been doing pretty well. A little gassy but not too bad. No indigestion, but my doc put me on prilosec desolvables right out of the shoot. He said the indigestion is part of it ...you might want to call your doc. My tummy rumbles after I put anything in it, even water! I'm not too interested in food unless my family is eating then I feel kind of hungry. I can't wait until this first two weeks is over because this clear liquid diet is a bummer. I can't wait for pureed soup!
