About Me

  • Gender
    Female
My mom and I had the surgery done at the same time four years ago.  My starting weight was 220 over 4 years my weight was down to 160.  I was happy at that size.  I'm 5'10.  In April of this year for some reason I started to feel a lot of restriction.  I tried everything; even baby food.  Finally when I couldn't keep water down I had to go back.  I had gone 2 years without having to go for an adjustment; somedays were better than others , but I was ok with it. I thought I knew the in's and out's of the band.  I got to the obesity control center and they said I had 1cm open for food or liquid.  Because I waited and continued to throw up my stomach caused the band to constrict even more.  They opened the band up to the post surgery state and I started to eat like a PIG!  I learned nothing in the 4years.  In the 3 months I had the band opened I gained 43 lbs. nothing fits.  I'm depressed, lack of energy, can't stop eating etc etc.  I was doing everything the same. With zero control.  I went back to the Dr.  but before I had gone back I ate a hamburger and drank 2 red bull.  Today is the first day after the adjustment.  They added 2.5cc to a completely open band.  I am having a very hard time keeping anything down.  I'm hoping that its not too full.  I've read other stories that I should give it a couple of days.  Most likely its just the swelling from the adjustment. Reading some of the stories I think I just have to wait it out....
