    A Christmas Nsv

Well thank you very much...six weeks. My doctor did not want me working out until then. I started with walking a mile and it has increased from there.
  2. I would agree with above poster. I also think the gall bladder surgery was much harder. However, I recouped from both pretty well and in a short amount of time. The next day I felt fine. The gall bladder though I do remember being tired and wanting to rest, whereas with the band, I was up and ready to go shopping (which I did).

    A Christmas Nsv

I honestly believe that it is because of the exercise. I do the Wii fit for at least 45 mins a day, resistance training of some sort (free weights or bands, I just got a medicine ball for Christmas that I can not wait to try out) and 45 mins of cardio a day. I try to make sure my calories are between 1000 and 1200 each day and that I am getting my Protein. That is really about it. If I want something though, I do not deny myself of it or I find I will want it until I have it. Exercise is key though

    Fitbit Or Bodybug?

I have a FitBit and love it. I do not own a body bugg so I can't speak on that.
  5. I was on a 24 hour calorie counting vacation. It ended about 7 hours ago. This by far was the worst month for me as well. I guess I could just say the worst week between holiday parties at work, friends coming in town and wanting to do lunch and my parents' big Christmas Eve Open House. I was going to be happy on Saturday (the day I weigh myself) if I had not gained. Surprisingly, I lost, not as much as usual though. However, yesterday and today have not been my high points. Back at counting the calories tomorrow and exercise like I didn't skip today! I did get a medicine ball from Santa that I will be putting to good use!
  6. Great job and welcome on the journey!

    Setting Your Goals......

I set a short term and a long term goal...my short term goal ends in about 3 weeks and I still have 8.7 pounds to go...let's hope I can drop that weight, so I can lose 100 pounds in 30 weeks! My long term goal was to be at my goal weight within a year...I have about 33 pounds to go in the next 25 weeks and then I have no clue how I will set my goals!
  8. Please listen to your doctor. I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks, full liquids for 2 more weeks and then puree food for 2 weeks, so I did not get real food in my mouth until 6 weeks after surgery and there was a reason for that. I believe that is why I am doing so well without any fluid. I gave myself time to heal and learned how to eat better because after 6 weeks of no "real" food, things I hated (veggies) I learned to love! Because as of right now, I can eat whatever I want, I just make the choice not to.

    When Can I Drive?

I drove less than 24 hours after my surgery (I went shopping), but I did not take any pain meds. I was told only if I took the meds, would I be unable to drive!

    No Lap Band Fill....

That is all you can do...I took a 5 day vacation from working out this week...too much going on at work and thought I was going to be upset when I stood on the scale...not at all. I lost over 3 pounds this week. I guess my body needed a rest, but I definitely started back to working out this morning!!!

    No Lap Band Fill....

As long as you are losing and not getting hungry in between meals, you are good to go. I do not have a fill yet, so I do not know what it is like to get one, but let the band work for you!!! Congrats on your journey so far!
  12. I was only told protein as well...at least 60 grams
  13. I hit it 2 weeks ago...such a great feeling. Hope you get your Christmas wish!
  14. I am almost 6 months out and still do not have a fill. I also can eat whatever I want, but I choose not to. I am down almost 90 pounds and have not one cc in my band. If you are losing, no need to get a fill. I go to my surgeon every 2 months, but each time they tell me that if I want a fill to just give them a call. I am happy right now without it and I am dropping pounds, so until I start gaining or am hungry in between meals, I will stick with no fluid!

    Sleep Apnea

I have/had sleep apnea. However, I never had to have a cpap machine. They only required it during surgery which baffled me beings they told me I was "waking up" 30 times an hour. Since losing the weight, I sleep sooooo much better. NO more naps for me. I self-diagnosed myself as no longer having it.
  16. My mom told me at Thanksgiving that I was at a good stage of my weight loss and did not need to lose any more....I then had to inform her that I (at that time) was still in the 200's. She could not believe it. I do not know if it is because my weight has been coming off quickly or I just haven't weighed under 215 pounds in many many years, but I know I definitely need to lose more! Congrats on your weight loss!!

    Hilarious Nsv!

This is great...I got yelled out for going in the staff entrance of an office at school yesterday...She thought I was a student. I really had to laugh at that one, especially beings I have been working there for 7 years!

    Craving Salads???

I had salads all last week for lunch...I used baby spinach instead of iceburg lettuce though with some chick peas and chicken breast, plum tomatoes, carrots, and cheese. It worked well and kept me full for quite some time!

    100 Pounds Gone!

YAY!!! That is so exciting. I just got done figuring that I need 11.9 more pounds to lose until I get to that 100 pounds gone and I was getting excited, so I know you must be ecstatic! Congrats on all your hard work and your accomplishments in a healthier lifestyle!

    Nsv

That is awesome! I have a hard time buying new clothes if I am going to keep losing weight, but I did buy some jeans a couple of weeks ago, and it is amazing how much you can see the transformation when you wear clothes that fit! Keep up all the hard work!
  21. My hair comes out in handfuls and has been for the past 2 months. I can tell it is thinner, but I had thick hair to begin with. I heard things get better at about month 8...2.5 more months of this for me. I hope less though.
  22. So after 24 weeks of hard work, I have lost 85.5 pounds! I stood on the scale this morning to see the number 199! I started dancing, ate my cereal and now am about to begin my workout! This is such a great feeling!
  23. I hated exercise, but now I love it! I started out doing the Walk Away the Pounds dvd and the Wii Fit. I still do the Wii and have added resistance in there as well as some sort of cardio dvd for the day. I love the Biggest Loser Cardio Max dvd and asked for 3 more Biggest Loser dvds for Christmas. I will still pop in the Walk Away the Pounds. I am really fond of Cardio Hip Hop and I have all the Richard Simmons Sweating to the Oldies dvds. I mix it up. When the weather gets warmer, I will take my exercise back outside. I was walking about 3 miles a day and I really enjoyed it with my Ipod. I am also thinking about purchasing a bike (arthritis in both knees) when the weather gets nice again.
  24. I believe you are fine. I was exactly the same way. I took a 1/2 dose of pain medicine the night of surgery but I felt completely fine the next day that I went shopping. The only difference was I was a little sleepy for about a week, but other than that everything went great!
  25. We basically started at the same place around the same time, so that is awesome! Last week when that stupid scale said 201, I was begging for it to drop 1.2 pounds, but it was being stubborn. Yesterday, it was a great feeling to see that 1 and you will realize it when you get there! Keep up your hard work.
