I have to share my excitment! I was banded in July at True Results in Houston. I've had 4 fills now. The first 3 fills I was only given .5 cc. I was under the impression that that's all they would do at True Results, so imagine my surpise yesterday... The nurse asked me how my hunger level was in between meals... I told her a 6 (out of 10).. so she gave me a 1 full cc! I'm now at 7.2 cc. Feeling the restriction now .. hoping it stays like this!! Much love and happiness to all

I was also banded in July 2011 & I've lost 40 lbs. My last fill was Tuesday the 21st & I've finally reached my green zone. I feel like after 7 months of being banded I finally know what it really feels like to be banded! I'm excited to see some more weight fall off! When's the last time you had a fill?

Im interested in what others say. I hope it all goes well.

I've wondered if it works @ all. I have no idea, just curious too.

We have a Jack Lelanne juicer.

We love juicing. My favorite combination is lots of spinach with one apple. Even my kids like to drink it!

Hey lollicatt, Thanks for letting me know. When Dr. hollis did my surgery he put 4.2 cc's in, did you have any Fluid put in during your surgery? I've been dreaming of having restrction so I hope it stays!

My heart goes out to you. Stupid things just come out of peoples' mouths sometimes, but its horrible when you're on the recieving end.

I have no clue about insurance. I'm self pay ... $10,000 through True Results in Houston, Tx. One thing to consider when thinking about getting banded in Mx that you will still need to get fills after your surgery. A fill is when your doctor's office adds Fluid to your band after your surgery. Will you be going back to Mexico every month till you hit the green zone or can you find a doctor in your town that will fill you and how much will each fill cost. I'm newly banded (6 months) and I have have 3 fills so far. I'm scheduled for my fourth fill in January. Anyway, hope I've been a little helpful!

I was banded on July 13th and I'm down 32 lbs since surgery (40 lbs including pre-op). Seems we are right on track with one another. I currently weigh 198 lbs. I got to 199.5 and was so happy to be in onederland, I let loose for 2 weeks and went back up to 203lb. ... Opps!! So right now I'm 'dieting' to get away from 200llbs for good! LOL ... I'm making sure to not eat any bread/pasta/rice and no sugar. Plus I started working out for 30 minutes a day (as of yesterday!) I'll let you know how long I last. My 30th birthday is this Friday the 16th and I'd love to be at 195lb. Best of luck to you!

I'm glad everything was ok in Nov! I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming surgery. I love my band and just might do the same thing if I was in your shoes.

Hi! I was banded on July 13th. I'm down almost 40 lbs. I love my band. No bad experiences to report! I feel like I'm in a food rut too! I usually have an egg for Breakfast (just to say I ate something!) and coffee. lunch is usually a sandwich (using whole wheat bread) and dinner .. chicken with veggies. Very boring menu! I would love some fresh ideas! I've had 3 fills and am at 6.2 in a 10 cc. I just had my fill this Wednesday so I'm at that blissful point where food isn't really interesting me. I have a big problem with head hunger (old habits die hard) and I LOVE that for about 2 weeks after a fill food is the last thing on my mind Wishing everyone Sucess!!

Hello all! I was just curious if there are any Houston banders looking for a buddy. I do good most days, but think it might be helpful to talk to someone who knows what its like to be banded. I am 5 months post-op and loving my band! I'm down almost 40lbs. I did horrible at Thanksgiving and now I'm nervous about Christmas! I need to update my Facebook status to, "Please do not send sweets to my house!" LOL

I've had three different nurses do my fills and only one had a hard time finding it. She blamed it on the port being too low. She stuck me the first time and hit the side of the port and bend the needle into the shape of the letter c! ... On the flip side the other two nurses felt for my port and got everything right on the first stick. At least with the one lady, seems to me she was a little unexperienced and was blaming it on my port!

You'll quickly find out that everyone's doctor is different! My doctor does not have any restrictions after a fill. Just chew well. I had my third fill yesterday, I'm up to 6.2 cc's now. I haven't really been hungry so I choked down an egg for breakfast and had some cereal for lunch.

I have a friend with pcos and I see her struggle too. Keep your head up and keep venting, great way to release stress! We are all rooting for you.

You are sooo right! Sometimes when Im tempted by unhealthy things (i.e. Halloween candy) I think about all the posts I see on here of people waiting to get their Lap Band. We are lucky and blessed to have our bands! And I sooo want to be sucessful!

Hello! I'm loving my Band!! I'll be offically 4 months post-op on Sunday the 13th. I've lost 37lbs as of this morning .. 2lbs away from Onederland! I haven't had any bad/negative experiences yet. Best wishes to everyone!
