At 48, and with hypertension and diabetes, it was time for me to become pro-active about losing weight and get off these pills. I have been heavy all my life, and gained 40 pounds when I quit smoking in 2007. I have never had the willpower to follow through on diets for any length of time. It was never permanent for me. I decided on the Lap Band because I needed a tool. Today, I am 72 hours post-op, and quite miserable. I have nausea and pain. I can't take the pain med because with nothing in my stomach, it causes intense nausea and dry heaving. Despite that, I am feeling hungry, did'nt think I would. I know that the misery will be less and less with each new day.
