  1. I hope you are doing well after your surgery. By my count, you had it done on the 6th or 7th of July. Way to go! I hope you are getting around and pain free.

  2. sweet...I'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I went back to work last week and looking at the computer all day makes me not want to look at this thing when I get home. I hope you are doing well. My world is better with soups in it! Something that isn't just colored water helps a lot.

    Feeling kinda down

Stick it out. My doctor didn't allow anything but broth, jello, sugar-free popsicles and sf drinks (no carbonation or caffeine). He had me on it 11 days, just short of two weeks. It's tough I know. I just finished it on Friday. I feel down sometimes too. I am trying not to think too far ahead or behind. I am trying to stick to the diet as closely as I can because I need to make this change for myself. My health is ok but needs to be better so I can live to retire and enjoy my family more. There are things I'd like to do with them that at my current weight, I just can't. I'm sure there are things you want to do for yourself since you decided to have the surgery for a life change. I hope things get better for you soon. Try not to get too discouraged.

    My first Post-Op posting

Have you mentioned this port site pain to your doctor? I have seen a few people here on the boards mentioning their ports being twisted or hard to find (?) when it came time to do a fill (which scares the bejeezus out of me!) My port is above my waistline (I know because I asked the doctor when I saw him on Friday). I had a similar "stitch in the side" pain the other day. I attribute it to eating my first Soup too fast. Boy it tasted great but I paid for it for hours with the overstuffed feeling and the occasional side stitch. I vowed to slow down and control myself better. It makes a big difference. I feel so much better getting to eat the liquid food diet (rather than the Clear liquids.) I am not nearly so b----y now. Check with the doctor...that sounds strange but maybe nothing to worry about.

    My first Post-Op posting

Thanks for your post. I feel exactly the way you do. I wonder what I have done as well. My surgery was on June 20th, 2011 and I feel pretty good today. No real pains to speak of (other than the occasional gas). My doctor has me on 2 weeks of Clear liquids. No slim fast, no cream soups, etc. I am ready to have something more! My poor husband has caught my crankiness. He has always been a thin person and now he feels guilty eating what he needs to eat. I keep trying to remind myself that others have done this and are doing well then so can I. Hang in there and I will watch for your posts in the forums.
