  1. I could never stomach the chewable so my surgeon moved me to capsules at 7 weeks post op. I use Celebrate Multi, Calcium Plus, Iron with Vit C and B-12 (sublingual). My surgeon says these are the better quality Vitamins for bariatric patients then what you can get in store especially the first year post op. I know I could get some that are less expensive at GNC but I'm willing to hold off until after my 12 month labs. Celebrate even has a flavored mix that you put into Water that includes the Multi and Calcium for those that are intrested.

  2. I started my weight loss journey with the LapBand in mind. My surgeon honestly told me that with a BMI as high as mine that I would not be satisfied with the results I would have gotten with the Band. He suggested the Sleeve, gave me some information, and sent me home to research and decide for myself. To me the sleeve is the best option (for me at least) b/c the weight loss will be almost as quick as the bypass without the side effects. I am 15 weeks out and 85 lbs down and I feel great!!! Keep doing your research, I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you.

  3. I am almost 15 weeks out, have always struggled with getting in enough Protein and Vitamins. I decided to go natural three weeks after surgery and after my last relaxer. I have not had any Hair loss yet. I will say though the flexi-rod sets that I've been getting during this transition phase is really hard on my hair. It gets so tangled. I have no idea on what others styles to try (other than braids, locks, and the big chop) during my transition phase. I only have about 3 inches of new growth do growing it out go s comfortable length before cutting it will take me a while. Any suggestions?

  4. I was the exact same way. I had a really hard time after surgery adjusting physically and mentally. I had many conversations with myself where I question my own sanity. I am almost 15 weeks out and I feel 110% better. As time goes on you'll continue to feel better. It may not feel like it now but it will. Just hang in there.

  5. I was sleeved March 20 and down 83 lbs. I am still not meeting my daily protein/liquid goals but I feel like I eat more than the recommended one to two ounces. I am more like 2-4. My nutritionist told me to stick with 75 grams of Protein, 60-70 carbs, 48-64 ounces of Water and 60 min of cardio everyday. It seems like a lot but I'll do what I can to stick to the program.

  6. I was a 38 DDD. I've lost 83 lbs in 13 weeks. My boobs have shrunk but ironically I'm still in the same bra. I just buckle it in the middle instead if the end. LB makes some real good bras. Go ahead and buy two in a smaller size. Keep them in the bag with the tags and receipt just in case you need to exchange for a better fit that way you can take advantage of the sale.

  7. I had the worst time with Cigna. I went round and round with them for months. Just be persistent and don't give up. The same thing happened to me. My PCP had wrote a letter but they STILL asked for a letter from a doctor other than my surgeon. So, I scheduled an appointment with my PCP to get a "surgical clearance" which is just like a physical minus the female exam. She wrote me up as being cleared for surgery and I got my approval. The insurance companies are very meticulous about what they want but sometimes not so clear about what it is they want us to send. If you still get a denial I would try calling your PCP for that "surgical clearance" letter. I'll keep you in my thoughts...hope it works out.

  8. Omg!! This can't even be true!...? Can it? Omg now I'm freaked out..please someone tell me this isn't so....please?

This happened to be also. Fortunately for me though it was while I was still under the influence. I could feel it there somewhat but not enough to where it freaked me out. I vaguely remember when they were taking it out (still under the influence) I THINK I heard someone say blow or breathe or something (needless to say I did nothing) and I felt the tube glide right on out. As I became more lucid I noticed that my right nostril was numb and without feeling. Apparently they numbed it prior to inserting the tube. It was a piece of cake. Nothing to be scared of. You will do great!!!

  9. I agree. She may be jealous since she doesn't have the guts herself to take control over her own weight issues. Take it in stride. YOU are making this decision for YOU. Not everyone will see the logic in it but it's not about them it's about you. You're gonna do great with the sleeve.
