Premier Nutrition Shakes

I heard that they tasted great but I'm still afraid to try them b/c they contain whey protein (I'm allergic). Please share your thoughts after you try them. -

Congrats!!! -
I have sipped a soda out of curiosity and I did not like how it felt going down. I am however hooked on the low calorie G2 Gatorade in orange. I put it in the freezer and let it get all slusshy...so good.

We've ruled all that out. Just wondering if it had any connection to the WLS.... -

Any Of You Girls...
HopeThruFaith replied to jaymzee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ONLY lose after it goes away. That means I have a three week stall EVERY month and then lose 10-15 lbs that last week of the month. It's weird but my nutritionist said it wasnt uncommon. -
Going Crazy Over Vitamins
HopeThruFaith replied to Jlewis229's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I could never stomach the chewable so my surgeon moved me to capsules at 7 weeks post op. I use Celebrate Multi, Calcium Plus, Iron with Vit C and B-12 (sublingual). My surgeon says these are the better quality vitamins for bariatric patients then what you can get in store especially the first year post op. I know I could get some that are less expensive at GNC but I'm willing to hold off until after my 12 month labs. Celebrate even has a flavored mix that you put into water that includes the Multi and Calcium for those that are intrested. -
Sleeve Vs. Lapband
HopeThruFaith replied to PrincessDaffodil's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I started my weight loss journey with the LapBand in mind. My surgeon honestly told me that with a BMI as high as mine that I would not be satisfied with the results I would have gotten with the Band. He suggested the Sleeve, gave me some information, and sent me home to research and decide for myself. To me the sleeve is the best option (for me at least) b/c the weight loss will be almost as quick as the bypass without the side effects. I am 15 weeks out and 85 lbs down and I feel great!!! Keep doing your research, I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you. -
I do the Zumba DVD's, Hip Hop Abs with Shawn T, Fit to Firm which is a great interval training DVD, Hula Cardio, and Leslie Sansone 4 mile walk DVD. I've been looking for other options. Thanks for the suggestions.

African American Sleevers & Hair Loss
HopeThruFaith replied to Almostthere34's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 15 weeks out, have always struggled with getting in enough protein and vitamins. I decided to go natural three weeks after surgery and after my last relaxer. I have not had any hair loss yet. I will say though the flexi-rod sets that I've been getting during this transition phase is really hard on my hair. It gets so tangled. I have no idea on what others styles to try (other than braids, locks, and the big chop) during my transition phase. I only have about 3 inches of new growth do growing it out go s comfortable length before cutting it will take me a while. Any suggestions? -
One Day Pre-Op On Magnesium Citrate
HopeThruFaith replied to Jlewis229's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
My surgeon required a three week pre-op diet. It helped get me focused on life after being sleeved. -
I was the exact same way. I had a really hard time after surgery adjusting physically and mentally. I had many conversations with myself where I question my own sanity. I am almost 15 weeks out and I feel 110% better. As time goes on you'll continue to feel better. It may not feel like it now but it will. Just hang in there.

Any Other Late March Sleevers?
HopeThruFaith replied to trstonlyurslf's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved March 20 and down 83 lbs. I am still not meeting my daily protein/liquid goals but I feel like I eat more than the recommended one to two ounces. I am more like 2-4. My nutritionist told me to stick with 75 grams of protein, 60-70 carbs, 48-64 ounces of water and 60 min of cardio everyday. It seems like a lot but I'll do what I can to stick to the program. -
Q For The Large Breasted Women, Ddd And Up
HopeThruFaith replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was a 38 DDD. I've lost 83 lbs in 13 weeks. My boobs have shrunk but ironically I'm still in the same bra. I just buckle it in the middle instead if the end. LB makes some real good bras. Go ahead and buy two in a smaller size. Keep them in the bag with the tags and receipt just in case you need to exchange for a better fit that way you can take advantage of the sale. -
Anyone Start A New Job, Weeks Before Surgery?anyone Work For The City Of Ny?
HopeThruFaith replied to Kiki Von Moonshine's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You have to be with your employer for a year or have worked 1250 hours in order for FMLA to cover your leave of absence. Most jobs will approve a "medical leave" for surgery or major illness but not sure how long you have to be on your job before they will. I hope it all works out for you. -
Dont Know What To Do... (Cigna Oa Blues)
HopeThruFaith replied to littlemiss0428's topic in Insurance & Financing
I had the worst time with Cigna. I went round and round with them for months. Just be persistent and don't give up. The same thing happened to me. My PCP had wrote a letter but they STILL asked for a letter from a doctor other than my surgeon. So, I scheduled an appointment with my PCP to get a "surgical clearance" which is just like a physical minus the female exam. She wrote me up as being cleared for surgery and I got my approval. The insurance companies are very meticulous about what they want but sometimes not so clear about what it is they want us to send. If you still get a denial I would try calling your PCP for that "surgical clearance" letter. I'll keep you in my thoughts...hope it works out. -
Congratulations. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I had the same reaction when I heard I was approved. You deserve this. Have you for a surgery date yet?

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....
HopeThruFaith replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This happened to be also. Fortunately for me though it was while I was still under the influence. I could feel it there somewhat but not enough to where it freaked me out. I vaguely remember when they were taking it out (still under the influence) I THINK I heard someone say blow or breathe or something (needless to say I did nothing) and I felt the tube glide right on out. As I became more lucid I noticed that my right nostril was numb and without feeling. Apparently they numbed it prior to inserting the tube. It was a piece of cake. Nothing to be scared of. You will do great!!!
